@CosmoXY Just wanted to add to what everyone else has said; you don't have to use Motion Controls. I don't, and I'm semi-decent. Also, if you do get it, there's regularly people on here who'll be prepared to play with you on 'Squad' mode (Once you get to level 10, which isn't that hard, given you still get levelling-up points for a loss), so you can see what they do, and learn tips and tricks. @Lzthequack started a little while ago, and having seen them play, he's(?) gotten pretty good at it.
A word of warning too. The online competitive 'ranked' mode is very annoying once you start getting to B ranks, then extremely annoying in A ranks. Don't be put off. A few months back, I started off as a C- player, and I thought I'd get to B and just cap there. Now I play to a decent standard for an 'A' equuivalent player. (I'm an 'S' Ranker, but I certainly don't play like one. XD )
Just throwing my thoughts on voice chat, this game has been my surprise nearly Goty. (Sorry, but that has to be Xenoblade 3D). It oozes charm, and manages to be a shooter for all standards of player, as, whilst we moan about it, the ranking system's pretty lenient. I know I've moaned that my teammates were awful, but it's mainly been just me having an off day, and looking for someone to blame. It's fun for casuals, yet very deep. One of it's quirks has been no voice chat, but that only helps to distance it from every other shooter. It works just as fine without, and whilst the two commands are basic, it works pretty well. @mjc0961 It sounded like you haven't played the game, and, whilst I may be doing you a huge injustice, you might want to play it before you slam it. Basing comments on meaningless conjecture never helped anyone.
To end on a positive note, who else is excited for the Smash Direct. It's still on topic, because I still think the inklings will get in. I'm meh about them, I could take them or leave them, but I'm still firmly in that catagory.
Right, Splatfest is over (for European readers at least)! I didn't manage to get up to Anti-Pineapple Queen, which I'm a bit sad about, but I had a lot of fun, and genuinely enjoyed the bizzare theme. I don't think I'd I'd like EVERY Splatfest to be that particular, or peculiar, but I thought this one was brilliant.
Who wants to place (non-existant) bets on the outcome?
I reckon:
Popularity:
AP - 55:45 - PP
Games Won:
AP - 53:48 - PP
I've no idea how right those are going to be, but it's fun to throw out numbers!
I just had perhaps the strangest Turf War battle ever; I was trying out the E-Liter 3K for the first time, and I got put on a team with THREE other E-Liters! We actually didn't lose that badly, but it was a really weird strategy we had to take. Our side of the map was filled with long blue LOS's.
Really wasn't expecting the popularity split to be that great. I mean, it matches up to how I couldn't find many Pro-Pineapple teams, but still... Europe seems to really not like its pineapple...
I'd be genuinely interested to see how the results would compare if the theme were taken to North America.
