@Freeon-Leon: How can you claim it's OP if you even haven't taken the time to look at the stats? I mean, they're right there at the shop or at the screen where you choose your gear. Honestly, if you're too lazy for that, than don't make some unfunded claims. Or to go even further: You can't say one weapon is OP without having tested all the weapon types thoroughly. That's like saying "I'm the best at XY" while ignoring everyone else in the world who also does XY. Or claiming that a Mini is the most powerful car in the world and completely ignoring all the sports cars, offroad cars etc. (every one of those car classes have their strengths and weaknesses).
Anyway, trust me, the Splattershot is far away from being OP. It's just the most "standard" weapon because every aspect of it is average. It's not even "powerful", as you described it. There are many weapons that kill with less shots. Besides, every weapon also has characteristics that you don't see in the shop. Like ink usage, weight etc. Every weapon in Splatoon has its weak spots.
@DreamyViridi: It's not "by my logic", just and observation. I didn't mention the normal Splattershot because barely anyone uses it, maybe the combination of stats, sub and special make the Tentatek Splattershot look OP
Lol how can you say that? Have you collected data from thousands of matches? In my opinion, the regular Splattershot is way better than the Tentatek version.
@VeeFlamesNL: Blasters have a lot of flaws, though. They don't ink much, and they're the only weapon that doesn't go any farther when you're up higher. Also, get up right next to them, and they almost can't do anything.
Well, that really depends. You don't need to ink the ground in Ranked battles, for example. Also, I guess a skilled player can eliminate some flaws of the blasters by using his sub and special effectively or moving really smart/fast. But you're right, a skilled player can also just quickly swim around them and splat them from behind. Or even swim around them multiple times just to confuse them. I really enjoy doing that. The same applies for rollers, but of course they're more dangerous on close range.
In my opinion, if anything is OP in Splatoon, it's the one-shot-kill blasters, the Bubbler and the Gold Dynamo Roller (range is way too high for a melee weapon).
@shani: Get off my back dude, I'm not stating facts and you guys have been clear about it, I GET IT. I'm basing my observation on the hundreds of matches I've had. Don't take it too personally.
@Freeon-Leon: Sorry, I didn't mean to sound personal. I was just so baffled how someone could state such a thing without checking the facts, that's all. No hard feelings.
And I usually just like discussing (without getting personal, I mean), because Splatoon has so many small details so talk about. But the most important thing is that everyone has fun with this game.
@shani: I know there are more than the stats we see in the shop. But sometimes I've being splatted with a Tentatek Splattershot faster than with a .96 Gal or a Aerospray, wich sometimes doesn't feel right. Latency issues could have something to do with it.
Btw, I've used many weapons (not all of them). Though I try to focus in chargers (New Squiffer, MK II) and Suction Bombs (Splash-o-matic).
@Freeon-Leon: It could be either that or maybe they were just shooting more/less accurate with those weapons. Also, if you're already covered in enemy ink a bit, it affects how many shots are needed to be splatted. But latency is also a totally possible explanation. I often splat the enemy and one second after that I also die because apparently he shot me too. I hate that.
Oh yeah and also (something I wasn't aware of in the first months or so), the weapons differ in how they shoot their ink, I mean like more straight-forward shots so that you have to aim really precisely or does the ink spread a bit. Because of this, some shots may only inflict minor damage (also testable at the shooting range) if they don't hit the target directly.
Interesting, I'm almost the opposite. I mostly avoid using Suction bombs because of their ink usage (and because they are not in a set with my favourite weapons). But I know they deal a lot of damage, so they can be a powerful tool in battle. Especially with a bomb rush, I think I would use them that way if they were bundled with a weapon I like. I also almost never use chargers (have tried them out a bit, but I don't like standing around) except for the Splatlings. I still want to master those someday when I'm bored with everything else and need new goals in Splatoon.
I use weapons like Dual Squelcher, Splattershot Pro, Splattershot (though only the one with burst bomb rush), Zapper, Aerospray and Jet Squelcher. Sometimes I also use the sloshers just for fun. Other than that, I don't like to play with rollers, Snipers and Blasters. Still don't know what to think of the Brushes. They're not as annoying as the rollers, but still a melee weapon.
And my favourite bomb is the burst bomb, because it uses little ink and you can throw four of them (and splat the enemy with two) with one full ink tank. Besides, it's relatively easy to evade a suction or splat bomb before it detonates (provided you see it early enough). But the Burst Bombs explode on impact, so there's no evading that. Other than that, I use Point Sensors and beacons as a sub or just whatever my weapon is offering me.

Yeah, using suctions bombs is not as effective as burst bombs from a close disntace but they can really help inking the zone in SZ, they are really useful for getting enemies off of the tower in TC and if you know where to throw them it's pretty easy to set up traps. The bomb rush is really cool too. Btw, for this weapon I use Pilot Goggles, Octoling Armor and School Shoes, it looks really cool and it's deadly as hell.
I had the same issue with the chargers, at first I used to use the E-Liter 3K but while sometimes I splatted a lot of enemies and really helped the team, other times I felt like I wasn't doing much because basically I was just standing in one place. With the MK II you have a more dynamic game and it's really fun to use.
@Freeon-Leon: When I'm not using Burst Bombs or Point Sensors, I usually like Sprinklers for SZ. But you can't throw them onto your enemy. So maybe the Suction Bomb is actually a better compromise for SZ. I'll try that.
But usually I like the Suction Bombs most as the Bomb Rush Special. Because a) you don't have to worry about ink usage and b) the retarding nature of the Suction Bombs makes for a pretty impressive effect when the explode in short intervals.
Yeah, if I would ever play a charger other than the Splatlings, I would probably choose Squiffer or Bamboozler.
But I can't really stand still, from day one I played this game rather offensively, (after the Splattershot) I played several months with the Aerosprays, I liked to stay moving and sneak up from behind, but I occasionally switched to the Splash-o-matic and Zappers. Later I returned to the beloved Splattershot with Burst Bombs but I wanted to try something new, something with more distance without completely changing everything. So I started with the Dual Squelchers (uses more ink than my previous weapons) and from there came to the Splattershot Pro (uses much more ink). At first I thought the Pro would be OP, but the ink usage and weight compensate for everything.

Well I started at A+96 went down to A+ 40 or thereabouts clawed my way back to A+94 and then lost -14, -14,-12 and maybe won 1 more game the rest of the time and quit just before I lost my A+ ranking at A+8. Conclusion, the Splatoon Matchmaker has virtually complete control over who wins every game. I will not play any more "competitive" games once I get to S again because it's completely rigged. Screw You Splatoon, as always, screw you

I was thinking about the known content remaining and it looks like we will have all of it by Christmas. There's 6 weapons and 1 stage left so:
2 weapons next week
2 weapons the week after
2 weapons the week before Christmas week
Mahi-Mahi Resort on Christmas week
A good theory for this that I saw in the youtube comments for a GameXplain video was having the full content package ready for those who get Splatoon for Christmas.
@Grumblevolcano: they said in both the EU and US Directs that they would continue to add content to the game until at least January. Unless I misinterpreted that and that support was just for Splatfests or something :/

When discussing the contents of the currently released update, Trinen also said "Splatoon will continue to offer more updates, at least until next January". It was pretty clear that Splatoon will get more downloadable updates.
But this doesn't necessarily contradict what @Grumblevolcano said. They could roll out all the available content in the current update until the Holiday season.
@TheLastLugia: It depends whether "Until" is being used in an exclusive or inclusive way. If used in an exclusive way then that statement would suggest content ending late December.

Lol, don't blame the game for losing matches. It doesn't have anything to do with the matchmaking, it actually improved a lot since the last update. Stop whining.
