@TheXReturns: But surely, a not-good player would've never made it to A+ in the first place. We all have our off days but sometimes, the good times can roll. After my previous Ranked disaster, with today's session, I'm back up to A+ (50). We can and will make it to S! (Yes, Splatoon is addicting. Yes, I can stop anytime I want.)

On a side note, I'm also still playing Tri Force Heroes. Will probably take a break from it after getting a couple more outfits though. I can't see me beating all of its challenges without giving the game a rest.

@DreamyViridi You say skill, I say my dumb luck streaks, and Rainmaker.

I have nearly all the outfits for Triforce Heroes, and I'd love to play with you again sometime, you were a good teammate. I'm gonna go for all 120 missions. I have almost all of them on Worlds 1 to 3, Having all but one complete in Volcano. (But it's not the don't pop the balloons, weirdly.)

Sorry, little off-topic there.

And sure, we did make a good team.

@DreamyViridi I'm an A rank for Rainmaker. I suck at everything else.

Prolly just me being annoyed over having to fight to keep an A rank, but I still feel really awful when compared to some people on here who could beat me easily.

@Jazzer94: I don't want to even imagine the points you could lose going up against A ranks at S+.

@Spoony_Tech: I ranked down to S because it kept happening and I was losing way more then I was winning like -7 to +2. Still happening now that I'm S.

@VelvetElvis: Hydra totally worked in Tower Control! I feel like I can actually play that mode now! Although I still prefer RM or SZ.

I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke!

Has anyone else noticed that Saltspray Rig has been taken out of the Rainmaker rotation?

(Glad I'm not crazy; I find that if your TC team has one Hydra, it can be a big help. Godspeed out there.)

@Kinan I find Rainmaker's the only game that depends upon the strength of individual players, rather than a collective effort of the team. I can normally carry a rainmaker team against a decent team (but not against anyone who knows what they're doing...), simply due to having a good weapon for the job. Suction Bombs and Killer Wail to break the shield from afar, a good mentality for carrying the Rainmaker, and a Roller as a good supporting weapon for the Rainmaker Carrier. Unlike some people, who swim with the rainmaker, then jump out the way at the first sign of trouble, I would gladly get splatted in service of the rainmaker, which generally means they can get a few more points forward to win the game.

I guess I'm just frustrated with the matchmaking keep putting me against S Rank Snipers, who I have no hope of beating on my own. I just keep getting splatted...

First time playing ranked mode in forever and it's just as frustrating as ever. two -12 losses because we lost a team member in the beginning of a match with a D/C. I thought this garbage balancing system was supposed to only have you lose a couple of points if that happens? I'm so tired of ranked.

If you start a match with a disconnected player (before the match starts), there's only a 1 point loss.

Nicolai

@TheXReturns: I find that Rainmaker takes at least two people to win: someone with the Rainmaker, and someone to help him there. So, it's still a game of cooperation but it doesn't depend on all 4 players. Though the higher on rank I go, the harder I find it to win with just two competent teammates.

@Nicolai That was kinda what I meant, even if I didn't say it. I can win fairly often with either a competent carrier, or supporter, and sometimes solo, depending on the map. I've done both Moray Towers and Camp Triggerfish with really incompetent teammates, and still won. A/S Rankers who deserve to be there generally are tough tho.

Does Ninja Squid hide the rainmaker sometimes? Sometimes I'll be zipping by, and the opposition don't notice me.

DreamyViridi

@TheXReturns: Not to my knowledge, but hiding/swimming in ink does hide the rainmaker's TV screen countdown timer (I think) and its symbol on the map. It's possible that the opposition in your case were looking for those factors and didn't notice the shine you give off with the Rainmaker.
