Hey, everyone!

I'm new to the forum. Very excited about posting on here (just got my wii u in December)
I was looking for a place online to talk to other Super Mario Maker players/creators and Wii U owners on here to share levels.
A bit about me...
I'm obsessed with Zelda, Mario and Metroid. (Although I love the earlier square games on the SNES) those 3 are everything.

Here is the level I've worked on:

Mario: The Constant Gardener

Check it out. It's a bit difficult but I'm hoping more seasoned Mario players can play it and review it, star it if they like it.
I'm working on another level to post in the next couple of days.

Love the level, I keep jumping out of habit and getting stuck in places I can't get out though and unless I want to lose my checkpoints I can't click start over, I left a couple in game comments and starred it. Suicide spikes in areas you can get trapped would be a great edition to the level. Other than that small complaint though its a really great level, one of the best I have played in awhile. I got frustrated with getting stuck and quit but I will go back to it

Vee-flames. I worked on your puzzle level for nearly 2 hours last night. I'm not sure if I will go back or not, I like the level and really want to beat it but I need a break.

@99mushrooms: Haha... I guess my puzzles are a bit too... difficult to do. I did @mrichston's A Gem Box 2 puzzle for 2+ hours , and I almost quit had I not discovered an unintended workaround. So I know how it feels.
Tell you what, I'll give you a little push to solve it, but first where exactly are you stuck, or can't figure out?

@Felibert: Welcome to Nintendolife! To answer your question, start by posting your level to the Nintendolife community here: https://www.nintendolife.com/super-mario-maker/add

After you have done that, your level will be shown in a screenshot. To post it on the forums here, click on the level, and click where it says <>embed. Copy the URL, paste it to your post, but delete the frame part, and only leave the URL itself. It should look like this:

Make sure to leave enter spaces on the top and bottom of the URL, otherwise it won't work! Hope this helps!
edit: Sorry, actually don't keep the quotations... it's been a while since I posted a level myself! XD

@Kinan: So I tried The Unreachable Items (v1.1) (Hard), and after quite a few tries I managed to get... to the checkpoint! XD The farthest I got was right after the green springs with the treadmills; was I close to the end? The level looked very nice visually; I starred it!

I go through the doors and pipes and collect all the coins so they don't turn to blocks and block me, then I go back a couple to the area that I throw the pow and drop the flower on the p switch, when I'm back in the room where the big mushroom comes out I walk to the edge and hit my head on the invisiblock and then break it with my spike helmet, I climb down the vine that the big mushroom triggers and jump across the gap but can't figure out what to do afterwords. It's a difficult jump though and it takes awhile to get back to Everytime I die so most of my time playing was just trying to get there and not figuring out what to do next. I will give it another shot today maybe after taking a break and coming back I will see something I didn't before.

Sooooo. My name in Miiverse is justin (my real name) when I play codes from here or the mario FB group I sign my comments 99mushrooms so people know it's me. I recently played Jupiter182's level and signed it that way and he responded "thanks for all the mushrooms" like it was a rating so I told him I was 99mushrooms from the forum. That's all I said. This morning, every single comment I have ever made and signed ~99mushrooms has been deleted for containing personal info. Not sure if he reported me or what, but seriously? So I can post under my real name but not a fake one I use online for the purpose of hiding who I really am because the fake name contains personal info but the real one don't? WTF?

@Vee_Flames: I am at same point as @99mushrooms. I have tried to play with koopa, but I haven't been able to get koopa break both blocks above pipe, just one.

Also why pow pipe is such long way from this area? It is really tedious to get that pow from there if I want to get another one and also time waster. There are way too many doors and pipes from one area to another. Why it just can't be one pipe or door from one area to another? You could do some streamlining to level.

Why there is invisible blocks in this level? I first had no idea about the first invisible block so I went for wild goose chase to first area to get pswitch. And second one is just troll block that can be destroyed with spike helmet.

@mrichston @99mushrooms The first invisible block is part of the puzzle. I made a Miiverse comment to try to get players to realize something's there. The second block is not a troll block! It's to prevent players from bypassing the whole puzzle. I also made a Miiverse comment there to tell players not to jump over the hole where the second block is. It's really not a troll block as I myself hate those things, too.
OK, so I figured you guys were stuck in the new puzzle (the original course never had that puzzle). You know that you're to use the big mushroom to release a vine that you can safely use to get to the other side (pro tip: go down the vine first before jumping. Just dont kill yourself!)? However, two blocks are blocking the entrance to the pipe at the other side of the hole. And it's quite impossible to reach it if you use a P-Block to turn it to coins, either.
Now there's a bullet bill shooter that's right next to you when you enter that section through the pipe, but it's blocked by those black piranha plants. Get rid of them, and koopas begin coming out. I won't tell you how, but you're to use the koopa shells to destroy those blocks that block the pipe at the other side of the hole. And you only need to break one of them, but you can break the two blocks if you like (just use the koopa shell again). After breaking the blocks... You need to get the P-Switch at the top of the stage activated so that you can now get over the hole. I hope this helps a lot! I know you can do it.. In fact, after you clear it you'll be like "this is so easy!"

My point with second hidden block is that if it is to prevent bypassing, it is doing quite poor job since you can easily destroy it.

My guess for long route is possible use of pswitch, but it could be prevented with oneway walls and coins.
And then have pow pipe after that setup in same room as second puzzle.

I didn't know you can access pipe after one block was destroyed, because one block prevents items going out.

@mrichston: I couldn't find another way to prevent players from bypassing the puzzle, so I had to put an invisible block there. Plus, an invisible block will allow the vine to pass through it. I guess I should have put my Miiverse comment at the very start, so apologies.

@Vee_Flames: Actually if player accidentally loses his helmet and activates invisible block, he is stuck, since vine can't go through visible invisible block. But only way to vine as puzzle 100% sure puzzle element is to prevent player going high up without it.

I have my comments disabled since in many levels they are distraction.

I should also mention that in the original version of the course, there was only you could quickly get back to the POW Block pipe and get a POW block, allowing for a Metroidvania-like mechanic where you had to go back some rooms or dungeons to get the item needed to progress. With the new version, I chose not to place a POW Block in the underground section so it could still retain that mechanic. I think it adds to the puzzle and, besides, it's only going to take you a short time to go back and get a POW block... at least, if you went through the brick gates.

@mrichston: I'm very well aware of that, lol.. And somehow doors and pipes don't reset that, so I couldn't find a way to let players "reset" the section if they mess up... they would have to restart the whole course. Again, that was not my intention.
Well, I've told you everything my Miiverse comments tell players, so now it shouldn't be too hard. Like I said, the course is very easy if you know what you're doing.
And I very much appreciate the time you took to play my course, and I'm taking all feedback from you guys. Thanks very much!

@Vee_Flames: Well, you could give player another helmet if he loses it. Also you could change that one breakable block to normal block under the door, so players don't get stuck there. If would still leave few ways to get stuck. When I'm designing puzzle level, I try to think all the ways player can mess or cheat in puzzle, but it is still sometimes hard to catch them all.
