I think the reason for that is because when you upload a level, a little yellow "uploaded" sign appears on said level's thumbnail. If you go edit that same level and save the changes; the yellow upload sign disappears and I guess the game then treats it like a different level entirely.

I thought you couldn't get around the deletion by editing the level though.

@TheLobster: Well honestly; that's what I did before and it worked out with no problems.
Maybe one of the update patches bumped up the "security" for this sort of thing.

EVERYONE, if I told you I bookmarked your course and you haven't heard back from me and you want feedback, please remind me! I am losing track.

@Chandlero: I did not play an earlier version. I'm getting much better about playing courses that people post now with the bookmark feature than I used to be. I wish I could see the overview of the other part of the course where the good majority of it is to jog my memory but I don't remember having any suggestions. I just remember enjoying it a lot and thinking it was very obvious that it had gone through a lot of refinement. Is that an alternate version or an improved one? I have not played a lot of your courses yet actually. I will check out some more soon. I joined a Facebook group and now I'm a little flooded with bookmarks.

@AdamLikesNintend: Yeah, I definitely knew about some of the issues many people might have with my comments, especially the language barrier. Anyway, I'm happy my adjustments made it easier to clear the course for you. If you have time, I think you should master the EZ version, then try the latest version of the stage... since you already know what to so, you can just transfer the knowledge over to the other version when you're playing it.

That last one features a lot of costumes although I've probably unlocked more than twice as many by now.

@AdamLikesNintend: I am just glad you enjoyed the stage. I just improved details over a long time. The whole idea and composition was always the same. I just realised while watching other playing my levels: Even small changes can smoothen the experience. For example better positioning for checkpoints or even some more hints. I have a few ideas that could perfectly fit into this level but unfortunately there is no room for more things. The whole map is filled with rooms

Therefore these new ideas will come true in a new level

@mrichston: It's a great shooter stage but very challenging because of the number of obstacles all coming at you at one time. Honestly I felt like the bullet bill pushing you along seemed superfluous but I do realize it provides a little more flexibility than auto scroll because you can go further ahead. I kept getting squished by the blocks early on but got used to it after a few tries and was able to clear it without getting frustrated. You just have to be very quick to see what's coming and react.

I wanted level to have lots of enemies and obstacles, because that's how shmups work, but I didn't want it to be frustrating, but still challenging.

Yeah I just had a level deleted and editing it and saving it as something else still doesn't work for me. This level wasn't that big of a deal it was pretty simple, but If one of my complex levels that I spent hours creating gets deleted without being able to re-upload it I think I'll be done with Mario Maker. The problem is my levels aren't getting played a whole lot so I'm now trying to go around advertising them hoping they'll actually stick around.

Here's a level I spent a while creating. It's not getting many plays so hoping to get some people actually playing it and some feedback. Also sometimes I'm not sure how to classify level difficulty. To me this level is a medium, but maybe it should be hard? If you know how to use Yoshi properly, like his flutter jump, and also wall jumping, then you should be fine.

@AdamLikesNintend: Not yet, but I'm bookmarking all of them! I've not played my Wii U for some time now, since school is starting soon and I want to get things done soon. But rest assured I'll be playing a lot of courses before the start of school.

@Ding-Dong: If your levels aren't getting played much, that means people aren't motivated to clear them and are skipping past them after dying a couple of times. Promoting them will help but you also need to be making levels that people enjoy to be quite frank. I haven't played yours so I can't give you any feedback though. The bookmark site will tell you the difficulty of each one after enough people have played it. Please post the bookmark links if you want people to try out your course. Here is the one for the course you just posted: https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/26D2-000...

The three people who have tried this course each tried it an average of 3 times which means, to be totally honest, they didn't like it very much. I have no idea why though since I have not played it yet.

@Vee_Flames: Ok cool, thanks!

From looking at where people died it seems they all died at the beginning where the Piranha plants are that you need to use Yoshi to hop on. The first part in the level requires you to flutter jump with Yoshi then leap off his back over the cliff because it's blocked off at the bottom. After you do that, you're supposed to use the giant turtle's shell to break through the blocks opening up the path to Yoshi so you can continue. As far as I can tell, nobody realized you can break through solid blocks (not regular bricks) with giant turtle shells. Maybe I should just change them to regular bricks so it's more apparent? You'd think they'd at least have tried the giant turtle shell. Unless they died in the sub world which I can't view the deaths for I'm assuming that's probably the issue. Looks like they hopped over the cliff, couldn't figure out the piranha plant part and skipped it. The only other thing I can think of is if after they made it over the cliff they hopped onto the vines and climbed over to the piranha plants (which isn't necessary to progress) without seeing the turtle at the bottom and didn't bother to go back. The turtle is right by the piranha plant area though so it seems unlikely you wouldn't even see it during your 3 playthroughs.

Aside from that though, it also seems like sometimes my levels aren't even showing up in the rotation very much. I don't know if 3 people playing after being uploaded for 5 days is good or bad. It's one thing if people are just skipping the level after they try it, but if it's not even being played period then that's an issue.
