@j-BL00D: I managed to force the player to defeat bowser at the end of my World version of Watch for Shooting Stars but he's basically locked into the smallest space possible. I like how your set up basically makes it so that it's easier to get out if you defeat him than if you don't. I was trying to make the boss fight necessary in my latest course that I gave you the link to but it wasn't ultimately worth boxing him in so much and I left it so you can still go over or under him. You can also use a star to very easily defeat him if you find them (which isn't hard).

@99mushrooms: I don't think it's your kind of thing but I hope you like it! It's not very challenging FYI. I actually plan on uploading it in more styles besides New after I get some feedback.

Hey, would you like to check out my levels, please? I made 3 (2) levels that I find worth checking out:

2285-0000-0150-508B ('Boss Rush (with shmup sections') is a long pretty hard level with 2 checkpoints, with one more unique (although I assume there were also a few others who did this) Bowser bossfight at the beginning (I hope it is unique enough, because I haven't seen any other level do that), then there is a Bowser Jr. clowncar bossfight on ice, then you take the car and have a shmup part (you should leave the normal clowncar for a fire one, to make it easier), then you go through the pipe, find the P-switch (no troll, it is in one of the 5 ? blocks, there is only a koopa in a block, the rest are not dangerous, and if the fish stress you, there are invisible blocks at the exits of those pipes, so if you hit one of them, there will not come any more fish out of it) and then you go to the door, take the power block (it is pretty tough to take it, but I hid there a star because I would die too many times finishing the level), defeat Bowser, then go to the pipe and win. I actually went out of blocks on both parts (in and out of the pipes).

D094-0000-0145-73C4 ('Leap of faith & skill. (speedrun)') is a small 'gimmicky' course with a VERY strict time limit. It is very hard.

8B96-0000-0145-7CCF ('Leap of faith. And skill. (easy)') is a 'nerfed' version of the same level. Medium difficulty. I made everything I could easier, but still nobody has finished it.

I made also two other levels; one of them is easy and sucks (the first one I made - F441-0000-0134-6882, I am sad that this level is the most played level of mine) and the other one is not so good. (a small underwater puzzle I made - D120-0000-0134-F36C).

Feedback is welcomed; please star! I have been also working on some other courses and I need more medals if I want to post more levels. In fact, I want to make a sadistic level where I spam coins and items at the beginning, but when you find the pipe that doesn't throw coins and enter it, it forces you to be small and will be hard. I am still thinking about what style I should use.

@Parkour_LMan I just played one of your levels. Gave it a star and got the world record (Although I think I'm only the second person to clear it). I played the easier version of your leap of faith, and I'll be sure to try the rest and see if I can beat it.

The tricky part of the level is that even if you know what to do, you still need good timing and precision to make it. Took multiple tries for me.

So apparently Nintendo can delete your levels if they don't get played/starred enough? According to someone on another forum I post on. Is this true?

@TheLobster: This is true. My Wall Spin Jumps level right now was a re-upload since it had no stars or many plays initially.

I hope it doesn't put mine to shame. It probably does though. I'll have to do better. I guess mine isn't bad though since you didn't have any feedback really. I think it was you who gave me feedback on Escape From Funland and the updated version is actually doing much better btw. They were small changes but important ones. I always welcome your feedback on any of my courses because of that.

Why reupload a course that people didn't like? Is it getting more stars now the second time around?

I saw some people saying this loophole was closed with the last update but I suspect those people were actually failing to save it as a new course before reuploading it.

Yes, actually. I don't think it was a matter of people didn't like it; rather people didn't see it (story of my life sometimes...). The daredevil version I uploaded got more stars than the regular version did so to me; a re-upload was necessary.

Hey everyone, do you want to see me play your level on my YouTube channel? Since I assume there will be dozens of submissions, I want to narrow that down by a little game.

If you beat one of my levels you are automatically chosen. All you have to do is, leave an in-game comment (eg: Nice level. Try my "name of level"). Clear any Super Expert level and get 2 of your levels featured.

If you cannot beat a level, leave an in-game comment where you die (eg: "this is as far as I can make it " ) and I will play one of your levels and you will be entered in a draw. Every Sunday I will play all submissions and the top 10 levels I like will be featured.

LET'S BEGIN!

PS: Please note, to make it fair it's only 1 level per person (2 for Super Expert). Please don't submit "troll" levels or ridiculous clear rate (like 1/1000) 😔

@Vee_Flames: I much prefer the 1.EZ version over the original. It's not a huge difference but thinning out the enemies and flame throwers gives the player much more opportunity to work out the route without dying over and over and over again. I actually REALLY like it and I wanted to improve upon my clear time so I kept playing it but I had a lot more courses to get through so I moved on for now. My one last suggestion is about the comments you posted... good idea but they are way too long. The player does not have enough time to read them while looking at everything else. The cheep cheep killed me when I was reading something about how I should jump when I see them so not very helpful. I highly suggest changing those comments to 1-3 words or, even better, images because many people who play this game do not speak English. If you want to see a lot of good examples, play my Metroidvania course with comments on: https://supermariomakerbookmark.nintendo.net/courses/8500-000...

Also, most people play with comments turned off, so most will actually never see them unfortunately. They're great for the people who do though!

@DreamyViridi: Guess that's just another example of how arbitrary the starring system can be sometimes!

@j-BL00D: I'm still wondering why you put the one-way block over the axe when there is a red bullet bill blocking it anyway. I'm just asking because I'm wondering if there is a way to move the bullet bill that I don't know about. Also, that's a cool idea for your YouTube channel!

@AdamLikesNintend: originally I never had bullet bill shooters. But then the level was too easy. I wanted it to feel more like a classic shooter like Raiden or R-Type. When I added the shooters I forgot the one way block were there because they were covered in bricks

@j-BL00D:
I played your level "The Chase: P-Switch Panic" and it definitely deserves the title of Super Expert. Every part was very hard. And after each section it just kept going! I can't believe that I was able to beat it.

Shootemup is new territory for me. I remember playing Super R-Type back in SNES days. I tried to play other people's shoot'emup levels while I was doing that stage. I really didn't find any feedback on that level, except that I was able to push bowser so easily from the way.

How did you re-upload it? From what I have seen, if it is taken down it is down forever.

Did you just rebuild it from scratch?

DreamyViridi

@TheLobster: Actually I just remembered that I made changes to it beforehand to make it a bit more accessible. So I edited the removed level before re-uploading it and it got through.

I think the reason for that is because when you upload a level, a little yellow "uploaded" sign appears on said level's thumbnail. If you go edit that same level and save the changes; the yellow upload sign disappears and I guess the game then treats it like a different level entirely.
