@mrichston: Thank you for the comments! I'll take a look at it after work tonight. With it being such a short level, I thought about doing checkpoints or not. Part of me feels that a checkpoint makes the level too easy. Part of me understands that after the pipe, I could put a checkpoint there to add to the enjoyment of the level.
I'm not sure what you mean by "bit cheese in blue platform section"... so the rest of the sentence and the next doesn't make sense.
Ah, gotcha! Now I see what you're saying. Thank you for the heads up!
It's a problem I have when playing my own levels is that I don't see that "short cuts" people can take to avoid certain sections. I'm going to pull down the level this evening and edit it and upload it again. I truly appreciate your advice and things you pointed out.
Very interesting update! I love the idea of Event levels, and the checkpoints are very much appreciated. I don't quite understand why we got a costume of a guy from a Japanese Game Show that means nothing to most people in the US, but I will admit, the game show sounds pretty cool from what I have googled.
I actually had this level mostly done waiting on the checkpoint update. Prison Island (SA2 and XB reference) 9900-0000-00D7-550D

@Chandlero: Tricky ghost house you made there but I enjoyed it. Have a go at mine if you'd like: Mario's Mansion (B88D-0000-0050-073A)
Thanks for playing my level. And congratulation for completing it. One needs some patience to do it
Your ghost house was very funny and I really enjoyed it. However, I guess, I broke it a little bit. I could skip a part just by jumping a little bit further than you thought one could jump. And I was stuck at some point and had to restart the course. If you remove these little flaws, the level would be really good.
Its hard but don't worry theres power-ups

@gefflt: Thanks for giving my level a go. I hope it didn't seem trollish or anything. I was aiming for legitimate hard level design there, like World 9 difficulty. I'll be sure to play yours later on.

Retired Palutena Gem Provider. Mario Maker Levels
Hi everyone. Long time no see. Here are 3 levels with checkpoints: the first two are modifications of older levels that needed the change (and other tweaks here and there). The last one is brand new.
Here is also another new level, but with no check point, since it is pretty short. Hope you enjoy.
I'll take some codes from the last page here and try your levels.
@Rikaria: your screenshots for the levels packs are a neat idea. I'll have to do this sometimes.
Had a crappy night because of my Bluray player...went to play MH4U and watch Youtube...FINALLY got back into the mood for some Mario Maker. So, we'll see what happens with my next level.

@gefflt: I played your three levels. Here's what I thought about them
Mariocean Very cute, nice and fair. I like how colorful the level is and how it moves with really great pacing. I also learned how cheep cheeps behave with pipes, which gave me some ideas. It was super fun, which can be tough for underwater levels.
Mario's Mansion I loved the mechanics, and the way you place hidden block. It really is a smart level and I enjoyed it... up to two different parts.
-There is this little room where you need to dodge between several spikeys AND several ghost. It's so hard you're almost certain to die here for no good reason. It doesn't fit the puzzle-type of your level either. It feels like a cheap excuse to kill the player and doesn't bring anything to your level. The spikeys and ghosts were used really well up to this part.
-Secondly, the run to the exit through P-blocks. Do I need to jump of the first P-block to reach another on the upper platform? Are you killing players for an advance technique that a very very tiny minority know of? If so, that's not right. If I need to find a block, that's not good either. This part ruined the level for me. I'd have to try again to be sure, but I'm done with that level at this point. That level could be fantastic, but those two parts seem like they were designed just to mess with the player in a level that is tricky but fair. It just felt... wrong.
The Pit of 100 Trials I also gave up on the P-switch that killed me. That level isn't wrong at all but it can't justify not running checkpoints now. It's too frustrating starting from the beginning.
Also: If someone lets go of a p-block in a 1-block wide space next to a "1-way block", the p-lbock will go through and force the player to restart. Just give a 2-block space to the player there.
Overall your levels are really nice. But older levels that need checkpoints will have to be modified, wether we like it or not. We have no excuse. Otherwise, they will be ignored by the community, as it should be.
Also be careful not to change the difficulty level too abruptly. It feels cheap and weird. It also completely kills the flow of your level.
I will be checking more of your levels, and leaving short comments on miiverse. Cause I said a lot of bad things about those two last levels, but I really like your style overall.
Don't hesitate to look at the levels I posted here. You can also find them all in my signature.
Mario Kun level is out so if you beat it you unlock the outfit!....now to try to unlock Fighter Fly....or maybe wait for Nintendo to patch it so it's easier...a undead can only hope
@mrichston: Just tried Muncher Machines and it felt great. I didn't beat it (I'm pretty bad at puzzles) But I still enjoyed it a lot. nice work. It is very smart and each part is satisfying to beat.
@Whopper744: Super fun level. I don't know Xenoblade so I didn't catch the reference, but it was very pleasant to play. I'll try some of your other levels tomorrow I think.
Ya I managed to get the final level in Gnat Attack hard but only with lots of home menu spam...they really need to patch it to make it easier, the only way you can beat it is with home menu button spam and that's no fun!
Here's my latest. It's admittedly a gimmick-based auto-scrolling level centered around bouncing on a wave of red Cheep-Cheeps all the way across the level. The beginning of the level serves to supply you with plenty of fish to bounce on, and more launchers spread throughout the level keep your supply up. You'll have to dodge Magikoopa attacks along the way, as well as springs that threaten to knock you off the wave and into the void. A good strategy is to try to stay in the center of the screen to ensure that your wave of fish doesn't follow you to the left edge of the screen; otherwise, you will have fewer fish to bounce on.
