Saw comments, go start up ALBW on my gorgeous purple 3ds. Played a bit just in case my memory served me wrong. Game still looks gorgeous. Yup. Nope. End.

Agree that DKC: Tropical Freeze and Rayman Legends make NSMBU look dull and uninteresting in comparison. I will say that all of the NSMB titles control beautifully, but the most recent Wii U and 3DS incarnations play it too safe,......the lack of passion is noticeable, it feels like a vanilla 2D platformer that was created for no other purpose than selling millions to those who have a bit of gaming nostalgia. The corporate logic is there despite being enjoyable games.
DKC is probably my favorite side scrolling platformer aesthetically, it just always feels very organic, nature-focused, outdoorsy, especially DKC, DKC 3, and DKC: Tropical Freeze........
I agree with what many of u say... But then u look at figures sales and nsmb franchise sells more than galaxy and mario 3d.... So why N should change if still so many people like this old school always the same stuff?
the first one was fine, nice for a DS game(with 3D-ish graphics)
but it got old after playing for a few minutes
on ALBW topic, I found it charming it was just like a "western" style zelda.
on another note every single 3DS game looks horrible in upscaled screenshots.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

Want a game with amazing aesthetics? Forget Mario, play Rayman Legends instead.
Agree 101%... One of the best platform ever
Lol, garbage. Did you try playing Rayman without the sound on? The whole thing is built upon music - take that away and you are left with average platforming that treads water. Hate the series.
As I do NSMB. The 3DS one was my last - I find the whole thing dull and repetitive that has lost it's shine, and resorted to repetition once too often... which includes the aesthetics to which I concur with the OP.
On a plus note, MK8 has wonderful graphics and aesthetics. I read a line from a review that said they can't ever go back to Mario Kart 7 because of how lifeless it looks in comparison. Totally agreed.

worthless opinion
Worthless post. Well done fella.
I refer to my previous statement.
Like you're the one to talk.
NSMB aesthetics are not that bad. It could've been better, but for what it is and for what they were going for, it is acceptable.
