I used to play this game back in 1993-1994 and recently downloaded it again for DOS emulator. It's a chess game type (when is the new Archon coming out?) where you move different dinosaurs around the map. There are different maps with some interesting ideas.
Each dinosaur can move a different number of squares horizontally or vertically at a time, if you choose a turn based game. You may also choose to play the game without taking turns. The objective is to capture the opponent's egg and take it to your starting row.
When you move a dinosaur onto an opponent's dinosaur you begin the fighting game. The dinosaurs are poorly animated but the fighting is fun - you have one button and 4 directions so each dinosaur has 4 different fighting moves. There are 8 different kinds of dinosaurs.
The menu includes several nice customizable options and a short encyclopedia explaining the history of dinosaurs.
Highly recommended. I wish they made a Wiiware version.
So ends a saga older than time itself. The World's oldest and fiercest army has been led to victory, and a lost generation is delivered from its fear of extinction. As the sun sets over the field of conflict the dinosaurs disperse, hoping never to set foot in this place a...
I've never heard of it before, but it looks decent from the video. It's sort of like chess meets Primal Rage. But, it looks like the matches could go on for a really long time... maybe too long.
It looks terrible, and was apparently pretty bad even at the time of release... Cool concept.
