Probably not since it was cancelled before it got released. It was to allow you to play NES games on the Super Nintendo but since it took so long to be released, the NES console came down in price rendering it pointless. I would have gotten it for sure though.

Nope. Not sure when the internet came around, but if it was before the days of the SNES then don't expect a lot of people here to have heard of it, unless they were subscribed to gaming magazines back then maybe? Though a lot of users here are too young...

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I recall there was a similar device that allowed Master System games to be played on a Mega Drive/Genesis

It was announced during the days of the SNES, not before.

And this being the retro board, I'd assume that many people here actually played games during the early nineties.

I actually can say I have never heard of that until now. Of course if it wasnt licensed by Nintendo than I wouldn't have heard of it since the only magazine I read back than was Nintendo Power. Plus from the look of the picture that is either a Japanese or PAL SNES (Not quite sure if the PAL one looked like NA or Japan SNES) so the idea might not have even reached NA.

Yep I still have that plays every master system game except wonderboy 2 for some reason. if you plug in the megadrive arcade stick while playing that title wonderboy starts falling through the floor and reappearing from the ceiling and repeating :/ its the only game that does that as far as I know the rest all work great.

Is it pretty much the same thing as the adapter known as TriStar (PAL) and Super 8 (NTSC)?
(that is, it's pretty much a Famiclone and a SNES region converter in one unit)

As to the Master System issue, is the MD stick you're talking about 6 button? I hear the 6-button controllers have backwards compatibility issues (with 3 button and MS) that affect a small number of games.

Did the Superdeck actually work? I wasn't aware that there were such hardware emulators like that back then.

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.
