Topic: Your favorite Final fantasy?

WELL SAID. I read the manga and then watched the movie and it was horrible. I watched it a few years later and liked it better, and I realized by that time that they definitely changed the story to give Takeshi Kitano's character more screen time. Takeshi Kitano is awesome, but giving him more screen time didn't help the movie, and it still sucks compared to the manga.

Oh, and the sequel to the manga sucks, too, not just the movie sequel.

I'm not really a big book fan anymore either, but Battle Royale is one thing I read (back when mangahut still existed) for hours at a time and lost sleep because I wanted to keep reading.

The only one I've beaten is FF4. Made a start on 6 and by the looks of it I think I will like it more (I think they later-era SNES graphics are doing it for me). So so far, FF6 is creeping to the top of my list at the moment.

I've got 7 on my PS3, but I've only played about 30 mins or so. I'll probably get 5 on PS3 if it goes on sale at all, same with 9. I've found that the early PS/N64 3D games are hard to get into for me, unless there's nostalgia attached to them.

I didn't enjoy 13 for the hour or so I played it, but i haven't really given it mich of a chance. Looks pretty though.

I bought 86 vc games now... soon as i complete ff3 im goin to try mystic quest....i hope its good as as the others...

Final Fantasy VI an FFXII also best spinoffs are FF tatic advance and FFMystic Quest imo.

My favourite Final Fantasy is XIII.

I know it's considered by most to be the worst in the series, but I absolutely loved it. The characters, the visuals, the story, the music... it all blended together to create a game that transcended being a great game and was instead a great experience.

I cannot wait for XIII-2.

After XIII, my favourite is probably VII or VI.

i know im gonna get a lot of crap for this but my favorites are final fantasy X and VIII

i seen ff1 an 2 on one gba cart.... My local game store has it...Is the 2 on that cart 4 or the origanal 2...

I would go with FF X, it was really fun when I borrowed it from my friend, unfortunately I never finished it. I should hunt it down and play it.

I've been playing alot of FF VI lately and it sure seems stupidly easy.
The graphics and music are great but the bosses go down like nothing.
I'm almost dissapointed.

Which is the best to start on? I've got 3 for the DS, 8 for my PS2, and debating on 13 for 360. Which would you suggest out of all of them?

IV but VI is probably definitively better. VII and Tactics/Tactics Advance are close too.

Final Fantasy is at it's best when it isn't trying too hard (to be anime). Except for VII which just amuses me greatly (both intentionally and not)

No, you quite aren't. How can anyone hate FF VI so much and rank FF II higher???? Anyone in their right mind knows that FF II (the NES II, not IV) is the weakest and worst FF game.

But I digress.

Anyway, I know I made a thread like this awhile ago. But whatevs.

Final Fantasy VI is my absolute favorite FF game, as its story is so incredibly told. Final Fantasy IX would be a VERY close second, and it being the primary reason I bought a PSP in the first place, I do not regret purchasing the PSP.

My least favorite is Final Fantasy II, with its broken level-up and magic system.

So, in order of my favorite -> least favorite FF game (of the ones I've played):

• Final Fantasy VI (GBA port)
• Final Fantasy IX (PS1)
• Final Fantasy I (GBA remake) - Really fun and leaves just enough to the player's imagination.
• Final Fantasy IV (DS remake) - Great story, but incredibly hard.
• Final Fantasy VIII (PS1) - Now playing, so my opinion may change. Not bad, but in terms of story its the weakest so far.
• Final Fantasy II (GBA remake) - This game is awful.

I've only played two FF games and they were both awful: X and IV. Neither were worth finishing, imo. These games only focus on story, and cinematics in the case of X, but have horrible gameplay and the dreaded random battles.

Not so much awful as not your own taste, I think. Because those criticisms apply to virtually the entire JRPG genre in one way or another, and that genre is quite clearly not awful.
