Topic: Your favorite Final fantasy?

I haven't really played alot of them but I liked FF IV. (aka FF2 in America) It's the one I've played the most. I'm just now starting on FF VI and it's turning out pretty well. I don't know why I never got around to playing it until now. Back in the days of PS1 I played FF VII all the way to the final boss but couldn't beat it. I got tired of losing so I gave up. I honestly think I prefer the 2-D sprite based games to the more recent ones. They have more charm and you don't have to sit there for half an hour watching cutscenes.
Anyway which game of the series is your favorite?

FF3 AKA 3
the reason the only others ive played are 1 and 4TAY which im stuck in the begining of both

FFVI or FFIX. VII and VIII are the first two I played and I have plenty of nostalgia for them... however, I'm not above saying both the Materia and Junctioning systems are extremely broken.

FF5, FF6, or FF9 one of those 3.

Final Fantasy IV, easily. I absolutely love both the SNES and DS versions of it, and if I had the money I wouldn't hesitate to buy a PSP + the Complete Collection too. :3

I'm hoping the GBA version comes out on the eShop eventually... I <3 FFIV.

That is all (Maybe FFVI).

A tie between 3 (JP), 6, and 7. I don't know why I liked 3 so much, but something about the atmosphere of the game really appealed to me. Also, I know 7 had plot holes and is considered very overrated, but as a kid it absolutely blew my mind. To this day I still listen to the soundtrack regularly. I don't think I need to explain why I love 6.

Final Fantasy 3 (6).

Final Fantasy VI. It's the only (good) game in the series that doesn't have you adventure off into outer space.

Overall SNES had the best Final Fantasy games.

I thought it would be, it just seemed to be an unusual order, especially with FF6 at the bottom and FFXI as high as it was. Also, I referenced Starfox? If I did it was unintentional as I don't know much about the series, its not really my thing. Do I still get the high-five for the unintentional reference? lol

ff2 which is 4 or somethin like that .... I downliaded it on vc an really liked it....i beat ff1 nes on vc as well as ff2 snes in vc and workin on ff3 snes on vc now... I think ff3 is suppose to be 6 or somethin like that...

I thought you were referencing the thread where Star Fox (the NL User) Made a list and later explained that the best was at the bottom. I called him crazy for that. For some reason I thought you were there for that, but maybe my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

...also, I've ranted many times on this site how much I vehemontly hate FF6. Maybe you never saw them, I dunno. But seriously, IMO, FF6 sucks. While FFXI is actually very good. The world is very fun to explore, so long as you avoid maining in the deserted wasteland that is Bastok. I even found a good party when I last played. With all the recent updates and expansions, the gameplay is a blast and grinding and soloing are relatively easy compared to other MMOs I've tried, but still difficult enough to be rewarding. Really, it's a great game and I highly recommend trying it out. Or At least play the trial.

I have seen that user and his many lists but I didn't see that particular one. I'm not really into MMOs so even if FFXI was on a nintendo console (I only own nintendo consoles and don't play PC games) I wouldn't get it. Also, what is it that you don't like FF6? If you don't want to go through it again, could you link me to thread where you did explain what you didn't like about it? If those threads are too far back, did you rant about it on its gamepage or review?
