Ok, supremely disappointing from my point of view.

The only games I saw that I REALLY want to play are Halo and Fable. Halo I can already get on Xbox One, and Fable seems like its still a way off given that they didn't even show gameplay.

So basically I have zero reasons to buy a Series X. (I wouldn't buy one near launch anyway, but it's surely a bad sign for people who have similar tastes who would)

So that's only 1 exclusive so far I'd buy the console for. Whereas PS5 had 2 exclusives already I NEED, as well as several other major games on the way (God of War 2 and FF7 Remake 2). If my opinions are at all representative, I guess this means Playstation is gonna win yet another generation.

Wow, that was supremely bad IMO. Very little gameplay shown, and nothing like what Sony showed as far as utilization of the hardware for gameplay. It felt like every other announcement was something of the same gameplay or tone. Everwild and Fable were refreshing changes of pace. Psychonauts 2 is cool too of course, but we already knew about it.

And as someone with simulation sickness, I can't let them off the hook for a majority of major announcements being first-person games.

Compared to Sony's presentation, which pretty much covered an entire spectrum of game genres, this was really underwhelmng.

Disappointing event for sure, highlight was Dragon Quest XI S but I already own it on Switch and returning to it after finishing Paper Mario.

Halo Infinite seems like Halo BotW which is rather disappointing and most of the games shown appear to be releasing in 2022 or later given no XB1 versions.

This reminds me I should probably finish DQXI at some point... I just kinda stopped in the middle of the second part of the game.

The Medium looks pretty good, but otherwise... yeah, that was pretty dire.

It was an Xbox reveal for Xbox games for Xbox owners. Weird to say it, but Xbox is oddly niche for people who want to play shooting games. Obviously I’m saying this as a primarily Nintendo player, but Xbox doesn’t have the sort of variety (at least yet) that Sony had which made me buy a PS4. Not sure if or when I’m buying a PS5 (not convinced), but I’m 99% sure the Xbox lineup isn’t for me.

Isn't it obvious that Falco Lombardi is actually a parrot?

Interesting games shown off in uninspired ways. Most disappointing I think would be Forza Motorsport. They took a year out, and still need another year? It had better be worth it.

Acknowledgement of Fable coming is good, though. Even if it is a year or two out still. At least we know it's official, now.

Was there anything in that whole presentation that looked like it couldn't run on current gen hardware? I didn't see anything really.

Thought they'd already said everything for awhile would run on both ... Just better on Series X Or PC

I don't get all this negativity at ALL. They showed SO much in this show AND the pre-show, that they already completely shattered anything that Sony has shown us earlier. It would almost seem that for some people, Microsoft can never win, apparently...

I for one was pretty satisfied about it, and also pleasantly surprised with how well some games are getting along, such as Everwild from Rare, which simply looks like a stunning game, the new Forza is also something to look forward to, that Exomecha game also showed promise, then there was of course Hellblade 2, a completely new Phantasy Star Online, Fable, Stalker 2, Grounded, Balan Underworld, Echo Generation, Avowed, and so on.

And then there were also a lot of interesting new games in the ID@Xbox trailer in the pre-show, which some of you might have missed/overlooked. Well, at least: I thought they were interesting.

Either way, even though nothing in there knocked me off of my feet, which I didn't expect anyway, I'm still quite satisfied with what they showed, and it makes me a bit more confident that Microsoft will be able to get more of a grip on the next generation than they did in this one.

Yeah, perhaps that was the 'problem', @ThanosReXXX ... Others wanted one game to really blow them away but I liked getting a few that look pretty good/ great, really!

@BruceCM Yeah, that might be a factor as well. And perhaps some people, like with any console presentation, invested too much hope into rumors. Over on PureXbox, people are even mentioning being disappointed that they didn't show the new Perfect Dark game. As if that was ever officially confirmed...

That's what you get when you grasp at straws: nothing, or at the very least a big cup of disappointment.

Yeah they said that at one point. But if you looked at the listed platforms for each game, only a few of them said Xbox One. Most just said Series X and PC.

So I think they maybe backtracked on that slightly. Halo was still Xbox One though so I'm happy.

That console will have ultimately been worth its price in exclusives when all is said and done. (ignoring backwards compatible stuff, which makes it easily worth its price by a long way)

Halo looked terrific! Went downhill from there for me, even the kids were disappointed lol. Nothing else really appealed to me outside of the small Forza teaser. Ah well will enjoy Halo Infinite on Xcloud when it comes out.

Yep, @ThanosReXXX .... & I'm very pleased about all the GamePass games, so I can try them there! Not sure if I'll like some of them, so that opportunity is helpful

@ThanosReXXX

I can only speak for my own tastes, but the reality is that a lot of those games don't really interest me. I've slammed Sony this past generation, and Nintendo during the Wii U era for really failing to delivery a strong variety of genres and tones. I feel that Microsoft really fell into that trap in this presentation. I honestly don't even remember the games you mentioned after Fable because they all blend together in my head.

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

@iKhan Really? Well, of course I can't argue with personal preferences or tastes, but as I mentioned earlier, there were plenty of games. Everwild looked brilliant and quite captivating to me, I loved that Exomecha game as well. Looked like a mix between a mech game, Transformers and Zoids. And I could go on and detail every other game they showed. I wasn't interested in all of them either, but apparently in far more than most of you guys, so I almost have the feeling that I watched an entirely different show.

On a side note: and they were all shown BEFORE Fable, not after...

@Dezzy I don't think they backtracked on the XB1 support comment, rather that the 1st party games not for XB1 aren't coming until like 2022/2023.
