Lol so most of what they showed in their new console games reveal isn't coming for 2 years?
They're gonna get absolutely trounced next gen then.
Do they think they'll just keep all those gamepass subscribers by default or something? A lot of people will just cancel, buy Halo at retail and move to PS5. Looks like that's what I'm doing.
I think they're really playing dangerously in the lack of incentive to buy an expensive piece of hardware.
@Dezzy I think the next event will go more into the crossgen side so like a multiplayer reveal for Infinite, release date for Gears Tactics, release date for Flight Simulator, the re-emergence of Battletoads, Cuphead DLC, etc.
@ThanosReXXX I felt the same way about the recent Nintendo Direct. I left it SUPER excited for Nocturne HD and SMT V, whereas everyone else acted like it was the worst thing in the world.
Personally, I'm finding it difficult to even recall the games I saw today beyond The Medium, Halo, and Balan Wonderworld, which was in the pre-show. Having never played a Fable game, the teaser for it told me nothing. I STILL don't know what Everwild is even supposed to be, because they won't show gameplay of it. There was a zombie deer at some point in the presentation.
Comparatively, I can recall almost everything in the PS5 presentation. The games were diverse and mostly pretty unique, and even the bad-looking ones (Bugsnax, emo dinosaur game) still stood out to me. And, even as someone who doesn't enjoy Souls games, I can say that Demon's Souls remake looks pretty cool (visually, at least; there was no gameplay). Ratchet and Clank looks exciting as well. And Horizon Forbidden West? Yeah, Sony had a really, really good show, IMO.
I mainly left MS' conference convinced of one thing: if there's any reason to get an Xbox, it's for Game Pass. The level of support for that service is amazing.
That would be great, since otherwise there'd seem to be a long gap in their apparent schedule, @Grumblevolcano .... I was wondering about that but not yet too concerned
Dragon Quest XI S

Optimised for Series X:
Sea of Thieves
Gears 5
Forza Horizon 4
Destiny 2 (60 FPS 4K)
Ori and the Will of Wisps (120 FPS 4K)
Many of the games showed today are Series X exclusives and not coming to Xbox One so they are fully next-generation: State of Decay 3, Forza Motorsport, Avowed, As Dusk Falls, Hellblade II, Stalker 2, The Medium, Fable...
There are also Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Yakuza Like a Dragon, Marvel's Avengers, Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2 and Cyberpunk 2077.
What have people taken that they say there were not varied genres or that PS5's event showed more games and variety? I think some people didn't really watch today's event and pre-show. One of them wrote "I don't remember any of the games that they showed after Fable". Fable was the last one.
On the one hand, not all the games that Microsoft showed today will be available in 2020 but on the other hand, the only PS5 available at launch is Spiderman-Man which is not even a full-fledged game. And to those that say Halo looks current-gen, it's not the same watching on a phone or laptop than on a HDR 4K TV. I'm sure that the visual upgrade will be really noticeable as it's running the same game on a weak or powerful PC today.
They even achieved solid Japanese support. What do people want Microsoft to do? The Last of Us III?
Question for you Halo guys, is the series better played in release order or chronological in terms of story? I've seen cases for both just looking for more opinions
@BlueOcean
"Many of the games showed today are Series X exclusives and not coming to Xbox One"
But, Balan Wonderland also on Nintendo Switch from the Balan Wonderland article i read just now, so..... 😛
Still no reason for me to consider Xbox Series X since i can buy Balan Wonderland Switch or PS4/PS5 version.
Was Balan the only cartoonish game from Xbox presentation ?
@BruceCM I mean, it's a few games with a cartoonish aesthetic. NOTHING even approaching the appeal of Kena: Bridge of Spirits or Ratchet and Clank, though. Or even the new Astro Bot or Sack Boy platformers, which look decent. It's like if every cartoonish game in the PS5 presentation was Bugsnax-tier.
But I provided the trailers for a reason. I want him to watch them and see if he finds them appealing.
Basically they haven't decided yet for all of the games that just mentioned the Series X and PC. I think that pretty much means they're currently unsure of how their gamepass-focused business model will handle the console transition, and need a backup plan in case not enough people buy the console in the first couple of years.
