I'm still in search of an XSX. I spend my mornings checking availability on Amazon and Gamestop. I'm eager to dive back into the MS ecosystem. But not eager enough to pay eBay flippers and scalpers.
Maybe I'll be able to purchase one in 2023...or whenever...
Switch Physical Collection - 1,537 games (as of December 22nd, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
@Magician I grabbed the Series S until the PS5 became available and have absolutely no regrets - I'm actually thinking of grabbing the Series X instead of the PlayStation now and moving the S up into the bedroom.
The lack of Disk Drive isn't even an issue for me as I subscribe to Gamepass so doubt I will even buy any games
This could genuinely be the best E3 for years. Halo Infinite and Zelda are pretty much guaranteed already, which is already better than most years. Then when you add stuff like this, and maybe Starfield too, it could be quite the year!
@Dezzy not saying is likely but I wouldn't be that surprised if BotW 2 is not at E3. They said they would have more news this year not specifically at E3...
The only reason they might do that is if they're launching it with the Switch Pro, and the Switch Pro isn't ready to be announced yet.
Without that as a reason, I don't see why else they wouldn't show it. It's the best opportunity and they've had more than enough time to put something together to show us. Even if it's not coming out this year.
@Dezzy the way they phrase it last time it looks the game development it still has some time until it is done therefore it is unlikely the game comes this year. If Nintendo decides to focus its E3 presentation on games coming this year (for instance a Zelda collection) they may show BotW only on a september direct instead.
As I mentioned prior I am not saying this as a fact but I would lower expectations for E3 on this game...
Edit: also I will put my hand on the block that a switch pro revision won't be announced at E3
"Finally: a brief customer service announcement. While I hope you enjoyed this month’s 1,000-word screenshots, we know that game videos are worth at least 10,000 words. And the great news is that Summer i.e., game industry event season, is just around the corner—and there are glorious plans afoot."
Regarding these rumours that there are 50+ games getting the 60fps treatment quite soon. I wonder if what's happening is that they're simply adapting the One X enhancements (that have a 60fps option) so they work on the Series S as well?
Cos those already work on Series X by default, but us Series S people have been left out.
There are probably around 50 of those, so it seems like that could explain why there's such a huge number being done at once?
All they would need to do to adapt those is change the resolution, so it probably is something that they can do on the Microsoft end without the developers themselves changing anything.
Yeah there are a few games that feel like they should've been included, given the other games that were. No AC Syndicate, Odyssey, or Black Flag. Disappointing given that Black Flag and Odyssey are my favourites.
No Gears 1 Ultimate Edition, even though they included Gears 4. Annoying given that I played Gears 4 like a year ago but haven't played the original since back on the 360.
No Rise of the Tomb Raider, even though the other 2 games in the trilogy were included.
I do like that they included some games that already had One X enhancements though (which already work on the Series X but not the S). I'm hoping that means FFXV is a possibility at some point.
I think the most notable omission is Halo 5. MCC got a major update in November which added FPS improvements, Halo Wars 2 now has FPS boost, Halo Spartan Assault now has FPS boost meanwhile Halo 5 gets nothing.
To me that suggests there's still a chance of a PC release of Halo 5 and the console version gets fixed alongside it like with MCC.
Huh, they keep putting games I already own on there, @Grumblevolcano .... But if anyone here hasn't played FFX/X2 or Last Remnant Remastered, they're great games!
Are the Resident Evil remakes any better on the Series S compared to the One S? I don't see any boosting options on those two. And I can't really tell myself if the fps are any better.
Yes, those have unlocked framerates, but on the Xbox One they average somewhere around 40-45fps. So on the Series S they'll both run at constant 60fps instead. Definitely an improvement. Because they're quite a slow-paced games, they're not really the kind of place you really notice framerate that much though.
Halo 5 is already 60fps though. How many people actually have 120Hz monitors that mean they could use the 120fps upgrade?
If they were going to upgrade Halo 5, it'd be so much better if they went into the game code and changed something like the LOD system so there's less pop-in.
I can see why they're maybe not doing that though. They're probably focusing on the games where they don't need the developers input.
Hmmm 343 have apparently said they're going to improve the visuals in Halo CE Anniversary so it looks more like the original game (assuming they mean in terms of the style, obviously you can't "improve" it technically and have it be more like the original)
