Heh, I realised later, @JaxonH .... I'm glad any issues with that have been fixed! I'm far more interested in Gears Tactics, myself but feel free to add me on Steam, anyway

Yep, although I got both on Steam in sales, @Grumblevolcano .... I'm sure some will like to try them, though

I'm not surprised IGN are doing more parody trailers after that Mandalorian Season 2 one. At least they had the sense to label it as a parody this time.

Hey everyone i got a question. Do you think it's worth it to buy an Xbox 360 in 2020? I've been thinking about getting one mainly for the Halo games and any other exclusives that might be fun. Any reason i should just skip it and go with Xbox one? I've only ever owned the original model.

Well, you can play most 360 games on XBox One, @Zeldafan79 .... So, if there might be any current gen games you'd like, that'd be better? They're currently at good prices for the S & X models If you're really only interested in 360 era games, I guess those are going pretty cheap, too! But then you might like some of the next gen stuff, so maybe wait for Series X?

@Zeldafan79 Depends on pricing and other platforms.

Do you own a PS4 to play current gen games? How cheap is the 360 you're looking at, especially considering the Xbone can go pretty cheap in sales?

In general, I don't think older platforms are worth purchasing unless you're doing so for exclusives that can't be played elsewhere or unless you're going for a properly retro experience. If you're mainly looking to play Halo, it's probably a better idea to get an Xbone S cheap in a sale or something and sub to Game Pass when it's $1. Most of the 360's former exclusives are playable on a One, as well.

@Zeldafan79 I already have an Xbox One X but I'm going to buy a 360 soon. It's pretty much entirely so that I can play Project Gotham Racing 1-4, but I suspect I might dabble with the Kinect games too.

What I'd like to know is, are there any adapters for a Windows 360 controller so that you can use it on a 360? There's plenty of adapters for 360 controllers to be used on a PC, but I'm looking to do the opposite.

So, Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to Game Pass.

That...couldn't have been cheap.

@DarthNocturnal is it that you put a team together with online players or just wander around its world on your own looking for treasure..

So something I find interesting is that Microsoft feel like its setting up its exclusives going forward to be like they were when they still genuinely cared about exclusives, especially during the original Xbox days. At least based off of what they own now. Focus on western RPGs with maybe a couple of darker takes on "kiddie" genres, launching with Halo, first notable game announced for it will inevitably be overshadowed by that Halo game (anyone remember that weird hammer game on the original Xbox)? Forza's basically replaced Project Gotham Racing (a series I miss personally), and We Happy Few might live up to fail to live up to hype as many times as Fable did (ha). Also, Rare might be partially good again. (partially good is exactly where they were before Kinect)

I'm mostly joking, but if Sega agrees to some exclusive sequels to recent games of theirs, I'm calling a trend here. Or a new Fusion Frenzy! (we can only hope) And I do think Xbox is looking towards what it was doing before while still maintaining their brand (even if I find their brand of gaming to be very stale at points). I just hope they can pull it off the same way Nintendo has with a lot of the Switch's library.

@Ralizah
Yes i actually do own a PS4 so if i got a 360 it would mainly be for exclusives. I was checking prices and apparently they go for roughly 40 to 60 dollars on ebay. That's just the console itself. I was also reading about this so called issue about a red ring of death. Supposedly they're prone to overheating, the early models at least. Perhaps i would be better off with a newer model. Have you ever owned one and did that ever happen to you?

@Zeldafan79 I bought one during the height of the RROD scandal and have yet to have an issue with mine. It technically still works to this day, although we replaced it with a new one because, back then, Xbox 360 consoles didn't have the capability to connect to wi-fi on their own. You had to buy a separate adapter for that. That's how old it is. Also something to keep in mind if you buy an older model.

I'm guessing any older 360s you can buy now probably aren't ones with the RROD issue, so you're probably safe on that front if the seller is above board.

@kkslider5552000 I bought myself a 360 last night on eBay specifically so that I can play the Project Gotham Racing series. Stay tuned for an official unveiling when it arrives, it's supposedly unused and I'm quite excited about it.

@Zeldafan79 I have an original model Xbox 360, and I also had the RROD happen to me. I sent it back to Microsoft, they repaired it and I got it back, within the space of 10 days, and ever since then, I never had any issues with it again, and that was back in 2007, so it's pretty safe to assume that any and all original models sold by retro shops are also repaired/refurbished ones, and otherwise, you'd still have the warranty, which in most shops will be at least 3 to 6 months. In that amount of time, the issue WILL occur, when used regularly, if an Xbox has not been repaired/refurbished.

In case you're interested or just wondering, the Red Ring Of Death issue was caused by a chip inside the Xbox not having the right kind of solder, so once the console got hot because of extended play sessions, it would melt and the legs of the chip would come away from the PCB, which would obviously cause an error. Also important to note is that it usually mostly happened with the Xbox 360 sat in the vertical position, so if you have it lying flat, it would almost never happen.

A trick a lot of people used to temporarily fix things, is to lay it flat, wrapped in a thick cloth or towel, and then when it got warm, the solder would melt again, and the chip would drop back in place.

But having said all that, you'd probably be better off with one of the black "Xbox 360 Slim" or Elite models. They're a bit faster and quieter than the original model and they don't have any of these issues.

@La-weejee That made my face split into a big grin. Well played.
