Heh, I don't know the person or anything, @Ralizah .... But it's certainly highly unlikely they had the patch available to them! I'm also sure they had to play a LOT to find that many I'll see how it plays tomorrow morning or whenever it's finished updating!
Yeah, I heard. I actually have my digital version pre-ordered from CDkeys.com though, because they had it for a cheaper price a few months back. So I won't get my download key until tomorrow!
Also I'm thinking it's probably not a good idea to rush into it with so many bugs. I worry it'll ruin an experience that will be significantly better in a few months time.
I think I'm probably gonna just start up the game and play around for a few hours, before leaving it til the new year to play any more.
@Dezzy
Yeah I think I might do that aswell, see how it looks and if there are any annoying bugs and then decide if I want to leave it for a while until the games in a better state or wait until the proper next-gen version. I've got Assassins Creed Valhalla and Borderlands 3 to keep me busy anyway
Holy moly Cyberpunk had 8 million pre-orders alone. So more people pre-ordered the game than people actually bought FF7 Remake, Ghost of Tsushima, and TLOU2 so far. That is truly mad.
Yep, the reputation is incredibly important. If another developer released a game in as poor condition as the console version of Cyberpunk, people would really be raging about it. But because it's CD Projekt, and we know they're gonna spend the better part of 2021 fixing and improving it, a lot of people like myself are more or less happy to just give them the benefit of the doubt and wait til its in a better state before doing a full playthrough.
If they can do all that in a single day, hopefully in a couple of months it will pretty much be running perfectly. Just a bit annoying for people who only have the base consoles and really wanted to play it on day 1.
Same dude did a livestream of the PS4 version that went gold. I watched for 10 minutes or so, and it's just... endless bugs. Endless bugs. Imagine putting this version of the game on disc. It's deeply broken, lol.
I never thought I'd see a worse retail release of a game than Ark: Survival Evolved on Switch, but there you go.
You know, if this was EA or Activision releasing Cyperpunk 2077 then internet would’ve been up in arms but since this is CDPR it is suddenly ok. This is bethesda level of bugs.
A lot of people are still quite annoyed. It's not quite as angry though because everyone is fairly confident CD Projekt will get it all fixed as soon as possible.
I mean, the game is getting review bombed, the subreddit is chock full of anger and disappointment, a lot of people are requesting refunds, youtube is full of angry videos and comments... it's not like people are just letting them off scot-free. If anything, it's the media I'm disappointed in. It's a shame the PC version scored so highly when that is full of bugs, has terrible NPC AI, etc.
@Ralizah They definitely dropped the ball with this release. Let's hope they manage to improve it and then release Ultimate edition or something like that with reduced price.
The bugs, glitches, etc. will definitely all get fixed. CDPR is stuck with this for the foreseeable future, after all. They don't have ten other games to fall back on like EA.
But what about the lack of interactivity in the open world in general? The terrible AI? Incredibly short "lifepath" prologues? The lack of AI for drivers to adapt to crashes, or even for police to track you?
The more I see of this game, the more it just looks... unfinished. I really, truly think there must have been so much more cut from this than the few features we even heard about.
CDPR isn't a huge developer, and I think they bit off quite a bit more than they could chew with this release.
@Ralizah 1100+ employees. For a single development studio, they are very big.
You can improve things like AI, it's just going to take a while. I expect an inevitable ''Complete'' Edition on PS5. Hopefully it'll be a lot better than what they put out now.
@Ralizah I thought that they would knock that out of the park since they made The Witcher 3 and they understand the concepts of a great Open world game.
What was The Witcher 3 like on release day? Buggy or not?
@Zuljaras From what I understand, TW3 was very buggy on release. So that aspect isn't a shock. I think a lot of people were bracing for bugs and glitches.
@Octane I guess I was mistaken then. I really thought they were smaller.
Sure makes you appreciate the few times a massive sandbox open-world game comes out with very few bugs at launch. Like Breath of the Wild. That was nearly perfect except for frame rate issues.
Huh, they never used to be owned by share-holders .... I'd be guessing that was why it was pushed to release NOW rather than in, say, 6 months? IF a lot was 'cut' to make release, I'd expect that to be restored via the free dlc/ updates/ patches, etc. I'm really enjoying the game, as it is, although I seem to be lucky it's only crashed twice in 20+ hours & I've only had the most minor little glitches/ bugs, which is similar to any game
