@Snaplocket Well we barely know anything about SMTV in general, the Switch Presentation trailer in January 2017 and the July 2020 Partner Showcase teaser is pretty much all the info we have on the game.
Given the Nocturne remaster releases in late May (21st for Digital Deluxe, 25th for standard edition), I wouldn't expect SMTV news until Nintendo E3 2021 at the earliest.
Persona is generally Sony exclusive, except for 4 which released on steam years later. I highly doubt 5 will come to any of the other consoles frankly.

@VoidofLight there is no proof that there is a contract. It looks like is just atlus being atlus.. and even if there is FF VII was also exclusive to PS One and now is on every system so I will wait... If it does not come it does not come (in the end PC can play everything if needed )
@Balta666 There's no proof of contract of course, but I assume it's the case, since the games never really left the Playstation consoles, except once. Even if there's no contract, Atlus probably vastly prefers releasing it on playstation.

I'm pretty sure 90% of the people whining about the lack of a Persona 5 release on Switch also own a PS4 or PS3.
Although it is not my case (never owned PlayStation consoles) to be fair handheld is the best place to play any RPG even more the ones that take up to 100h...
@jump Rumors mean nothing until a concrete announcement. People treat rumors as if they're 100% factual, when in reality, none of them are until an official announcement.

@jump At least my speculation isn't just a baseless claim, and has evidence to back up why I made my claim. There's no such evidence for many rumors or "leaks". @jump

@jump Looking at patterns, it's evident that it's highly unlikely Persona will be on other consoles. They could always have a chance of breaking the pattern, but seeing as they've been doing this for about 6 games now, I highly doubt that'll be the case.
I used to not dismiss every rumor, but there were so many cases where everyone believed a "leaker", and it turned out that they ended up being wrong the whole time. From either just making baseless guesses and deleting tweets that ended up being wrong, or 4Chan posts which almost never get anything right, except for lucky guesses.
Due to this, I just dismiss every rumor I see. Some may even have signs to support themselves, but I'll still end up denying it until it comes from the mouth of Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft themselves. It's better to assume every rumor is 100% fake than it is to assume it's real, only to be disappointed in the end when it ends up being fake anyways.

@Snaplocket I mean, he was in a couple of N64 games. Joker has been in a 3DS game and Nintendo Switch game. Nostalgic memories aside, they both have a presence on Nintendo platforms. If anything, given the relative recency of Joker's presence on Nintendo consoles, he belongs in Smash Ultimate more than Banjo.
@jump I won't definitively say "Persona 5 will never be ported," but I trust years of established precedent on Atlus' part regarding exclusivity over random rumors that have, in this case, continually turned out to be untrue.
I'd love to be wrong, but I broadly think we've run out the window on when we could reasonably expect a port. The sequel is here. A remaster of the original is here. Still nothing. And a Switch port wouldn't be in the cards until 2022, at least, because Atlus wouldn't want to cannibalize sales from the SMT games they're releasing.
@Balta666 Oh, totally. I want P5R on Switch as much as anyone, and usually regard the handheld versions of Atlus games as the definitive ones to own, for that exact reason.
And it's still the only Persona game not to be released on a portable platform. I get the demand for this port, totally.
But I'd also rather just slowly play the game on PS4 than whine incessantly and wait years for a port that, frankly, is probably never happening. IMO, people either need to get the game on PS3/PS4, or make peace with the idea that it's not coming to Switch.
Atlus is one of Nintendo's most persistent and popular 3rd party publishers and have basically had a working relationship with them since their inception, so obviously just from a 3rd party representation standpoint they're obvious shoe ins for Smash, a Nintendo-developed and Nintendo published crossover fighter
However, in order to get their presence to click with a wider audience, they chose Persona over something like SMT because Persona is just the more popular series, especially in the West. P3 and P4 are some of the most celebrated PS2-era RPGs and P5 basically blew the series to near mainstream status, so obviously when picking a franchise from Atlus as their debut in a game as prolific as Smash Bros, Persona definitely earned its spot. Not to mention that it aesthetically added a sense of variety compared to other JRPG reps because of how flashy Persona's presentation tends to be
