Sooo, what's up with the Projected Launch and the "Axillary Power" countdown thingy at the bottom? Like, it seems like the bottom countdown will finish first...I'm confused...lol
Think of the potatoes as a power-up for increasing the rate of game completions.
@WaltzElf That doesn't really surprise me. Whenever I talk about Valve, I like to say that they make amazing experiences, not amazing games.
Disagree. They made the FPS fun for me again, that alone means I can't agree with you, even in a "different strokes, different folks" should of way.
I disagree on the basis that Portal is not a FPS. So we're coming from such entirely different directions, the only common point of view we have is that it's a brilliant game.

Whenever I talk about Valve, I like to say that they make amazing single player experiences, not amazing single player games. While I enjoyed Half-Life & Half-Life 2 (as well as their episodes/expansions), I found the emotional experiences those games gave me to be more powerful than the gameplay experiences. To me, the first Portal is their most successful single-player game to date since it's fun and it gives players many emotional experiences along with it.
EDIT: Around three more hours until Steam users are able to experience Portal 2. In the meantime, I'm going to do a quick playthrough of the original. See you guys in the chatroom near the launch!

Yeah, I don't think Portal 2 is a game at all. It's an experience, a work of art, and an example of where interactivity should be going.
It appeals on a whole different level to other, more straightforward games.
It is supposed to release in 11 hours. But the site says about 1 hour. I think that would be a fair difference
Sean Aaron ~ "The secret is out: I'm really an American cat-girl." Q: How many physicists does it take to change a light bulb? A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.
