I don't see what's the big deal with what he said... It's true. There's no reason to think of Final Fantasy as a Sony franchise.
Sean, I like Playstation, too, and I very much don't like the 360. And yet... I'm not upset, annoyed, or frustrated. Just don't buy the 360 version!
The series was once Nintendo-exclusive. And yet I don't see you complaining that it switched ships there.
You say that they want to make money like it's a bad thing, but as a fan you should want them to make money to fund their game development when it does not negatively affect you one bit.
It seems selfish not to want the majority of gamers in the west to be able to enjoy a game you look forward to so much simply because they own a different console, and it makes no sense.
I don't know why this thread always has problems. First it was the guy who spammed the thread every two seconds and now Microsoft is sending their reps in here.
wait your surprised that the 360 can do Gears 2 graphics, you do know that the engine is also important to get good graphics? Man the Sony and their damn Blu-Ray and cell engine screwing up the curve.
About the whole Final Fantasy thing couldn't the voice track and cut content of the game could just be DLC for both HD systems so why all the whining. watch the language. -- TBD
@shingi - I don't think you understand exactly how much data that would be (it's not like it's an mp3-album )....Also, to date, I've never seen something along those lines offered as DLC...but yeah, theoretically I don't see it being impossible, just very unlikely.
and @ sean and other people who keep blasting dark g--he doesn't like the PS3 and there's freedom of speech. If haven't turned the fury directed at his posts to laughter directed at his endless time-wasting crusade, then I pity you more than I do him.

which to get:killzone 2, god of war collection, infamous, ratchet and clak a crack in time, resistance 2, batman arkham asylum, borderlands, resident evil 5, or wait for mag
The one thing it has going for it isn't even going to be utilized.
Killzone 2 is good for online multiplayer (unless you have Modern Warfare 2, stick with that) but if you're not big on online Infamous is a good way to go.
And the God of War Collection is relatively cheap. If you haven't played those games now would be a good time to do so.
I don't care if FFXIII is on the Xbox 360, it gives X360 owners a chance to play FFXIII. I just hope the PS3 version was not affected in a negative way because of that.
Anyone know if the NTSC(US) PSOne classics are the best versions on PSN, as opposed to the PAL(EU) ones? I know this was true in the past for PSX but is there still a difference on PS3? Or is it the same versions.
So basically, if it's out on both, do I buy the US or the EU version, or doesn't it matter at all?

Yes it can... in fact, I think it probably will... the original japanese language is something only die hard Otakus care about in the end (honestly normal people won't use Japanese dialogue unless they know Japanese lol), so they could make a quick buck out of that people, or even offer it as a pre-order/early adopters bonus...

as I understand it, the games are supposed to be as accurate to their physical counterparts as possible (PSOne Classics is just a VC ripoff anyway lol), so if the games had problems in the past, they probably still have, and as such, you should buy the US version then...

@TBD and Swerd..... Sorry but we have users that have been on here and using this tread for what close to a year and now not because of it. I wanted this thread to live on becaue it was informative and not to mention got some online time between NL users together wich is always fun. Not for Console Wars.
@wiggie.... Dont waste your money on Killzone 2. Im finishing up the single player now, after I put it down almost a year ago, and the controls are imprecise and aggrivating and Modern Warfare 2 is all around a much better game. Killzone does have great features about it and the online is good, but MW2 is money much better spent. God of War and Borderlands both have a lot of bang for your buck. Long time consuming games that you really get your money out of. Arkam Asylum is a game that should NOT be missed by ANY gamer.
@Fikraag..... Some European versions of games are watered down so they could be released in Europe for their government. I know it happens today and If I remember right it was happening then too. I would prob buy the American versions of the games. Either way I would always keep a European, Japan, America and Hong Kong PSN account as every week they get their own exclusive downloads, sometimes free games and themes only available to that PSN store. Hong Kong ESPECIALLY as its mostly all the Japanese store but its in English and that helps a LOT!
@Shingi.... according to the links I already posted, they cut enough out of the PS3 version (already running on the PS3 system as the game was created for the PS3 and ported to the 360) to make a entire game out of it. BluRay can hold way more than DVD and they obviously arent going to release a 5-6 Disc game on 360. I think that would cut into cost. Oh and on that note current BluRay Disc hold 25GB and Sony is expanding them to 33GB for 3D Tech BUT they have also have a 200GB BD in the works. That is a ton on content on one disc. Tons.

Here are some examples of the areas cut from the the Unreleased build of Final Fantasy XIII(source):
Isamu Kamikokuryou wrote:
Nora, Snow’s hero squad, at one time had a secret base within Lebreau’s shop. A full space was made for Lightning’s home, which included a park. One of the game’s amusement parks also had a zoo too.
Those are only some of the locations, btw. Personally, just from these examples, I can honesly say I won't miss 'em.
EDIT: Please note that there are no indications that these cuts were made because of the 360 version. I just wanted to mention that stuff had been cut. When they mentioned balancing and game length, they probably meant that they were cut to keep the game from being too long.

Selling old games a new console is a rip off? Nintendo did not come up with the idea first.
I guess Live Arcade is also a rip off....actually its a bigger rip off,but VC still is better than it by miles. and so is PSN.

Hey and XboxLIVE arcade isn't... Rip-off,XbxoLIVeArcade is more of a rip off than anything else. Natal rips off Sonys eyetoy and then they rip off Ps Home but fail at it.
There's no need for name calling, pal. Believe it or not, I don't think he was actually taking any shots at Sony that time, just telling the straight truth: The PSOne Classics were set up in response to Nintendo's Virtual Console, and like the VC, they do their best to leave the gameplay experience in tact, flaws and all(although you can reduce loading times, thank G-d!).
It's a fact of the industry that companies rip off good ideas from each other in order to stay competitive, and IMO, such a practice is wholly beneficial to the consumer. Personally, I'd have nothing to look forward to on Thursdays were it not for the prospect of a new PSOne Classic, and were it not for Xbox Live's Avatars, I'd have no other way of expressing my deep inner desire to dress like the Monopoly guy. I honestly don't know why people care so much about who came up with the idea first. Sure, they do deserve some credit, but fact is what's far more important is whoever uses the idea to its fullest potential, and of course, that's always up for debate.

SOny said before the PS3,that "the PS1 and PS2 will be a PS3 priority for back wards compatability". Starting with the CECHL 80GB models thay changed that as they were losing money on the costs of the PS3.
So im sorry but you think Sony would leave the PS1 for dust? no. They'd bring it back and they did. Calling this a rip off is just pathetic. No one patent the idea therefore anyone can use unlike M$ who have to use their money to talk for them cuz they know Sony would eat them alive without it.
No Wonder Sony is beating MS in the sales for the last few months and i predict they willl beat them in the long run.

Hope? We're way past having a hope of that, dude. I already explained the wide variety of cuts that were made, all for Microsoft's benefit (let's not forget that they paid Squenix to make FFXIII multisystem in the first place; a business practice I am VERY much opposed to).
I have nothing against multisystem games AS SUCH, but I am fully aware that a game designed with a SINGLE system in mind is always the one that can take the best advantage of its capabilities. It is for that reason that I dislike seeing exclusive games go multisystem, as it pretty much always results in some compromise in overall quality. The earlier in development the decision is made, the worse the compromise is, too.

So tempted to pick apart useless gibberish...think of the zany antics that could ensue! So many opportunities for jokes, pop culture references, and pie! So much pie! We could turn it into a theater extravaganza! But alas, the Black Dragon has spoken. Hollywood will have to wait.
...I actually don't have anything else to say here.
