Ah, just meaning there has been a lot of threads locked as of late. I'll back track and check those out in a bit DarkG.

@Adam
how much is the MGS pack? I'm not a fan of the series (in fact I find quite insulting the Peace Walker demo, apart from being dull and boring), but if there are good levels being made for it, and it comes with some good content (and is $2.10 or less lol) I might buy it lol

Oh right, I forgot you wanted something for $2.10 or less. No, it's more expensive than that. No real content is that cheap except for maybe some Disgaea 3 stuff, though that's where DLC really gets insulting -- all that content is on the game disc already, but they make you pay to use it, dressing it up as DLC for the unknowing, according to what I've read.

But since I already brought it up and you asked about it, you don't need to be a fan of MGS to appreciate it. The expansion's heart is the Paintinator gun. The tool allows for totally new kinds of levels to be created. The actual levels that come with it are MGS-themed and funny even if you don't like the series, but they are basically tutorials on how to use the gun, so it's nothing too exciting but for the boss of the last level. The item itself is what people buy the expansion for.

Okay, I just read through all of your posts on this thread and see no facts given of what you are talking about; you don't go into much detail about it at all. But, I'm content owning all 3 systems and I must say I'm one of those who will see Final Fantasy as a Playstation game. Also, I don't want to buy it for a 360 and then my 360 break 20 hours in. No hard feelings, DarkG. Cheers

The Pirates of the Caribean DLC for LBP is flippin amazing. The water adds so much to the game, it should have always been there. Its incredible. The MGS pack is very impressive and a lot of levels use the Paintinator in many creative ways as well as the lights that came with it.

@DarkG...... Question for you..... You do realize that the reason the specs of the PS3 are lower than the 360 is because the PS3 isn't made to play games off the disc the same way as the XBOX. PS3 games are actually made differently to fit the cell processor. The games are built in small segments, that infact do not need the higer specs in some areas. Im not a big time tech guy and to be honest I could give a .......! All I care about is the games. I know that Uncharted 2 is the most incredible game Ive ever laid eyes on and It has no noticable load times with exception to hitting New Game or Continue Game for the intial load. The PS3 is damn powerful and BluRay is flippin incredible. Its true that games made for XBOX and then ported to PS3 can be inferior because of this exact thing. If the games arent developed right for the cell processor and you try to just port the game from XBOX to PS3 you get a shabby game with long load times, etc. Because the systems do not run the same way. From everything Ive read, If the game is made Right for the PS3 and utilizes the cell processor to its full capacity, it is supposively able to run things uncapable on the XBOX. I havent seen anything that I dont think the XBOX cant handle myself so as far as I care its all fanbay crap talk. I still think the Wii is way more powerful than both of them put together XBOX Live is far superior to PSN Network and thats just truth. MW2 does run better on XBOX, but run still dang well on PS3 if you have a good connection. Premium Service is going to help out a good bit I think. We shall see.

@Stuff.... I wish I would have gotten the Limited Edition of Demon Souls too but just having the game makes my day Its so incredible. Hard, but well balanced. The story is crazy and the graphics are really good. Just the whole experience of the game just shouldnt be missed by any gamer.

Slapster, is the limited edition the one that came with the little art book? If so, I traded my copy of the game but still have the art book if you want me to send it to you. That's the only thing special that came with my copy. I don't know if I got the limited version or not.

EDIT: Nevermind, just read the rest of the conversation leading up to this and realize now the limited version is the one with the player's guide. Games with multiple versions always confuse me.

I tried explaining how the PS3 runs differently than the 360 before, and DarkG didn't want to listen. It's true that due to the different nature of the PS3 tech, the specs necessary are not the same. Just because one or two little numbers are larger for the 360 than the PS3 does NOT mean the 360 is more powerful. Third parties such as EA have already gone on record saying that the PS3 is more powerful if properly programmed for.

@Slappy: There ARE games on PS3 that couldn't have been done on 360. Or at least, if they HAD been done, the design would've needed to be pulled back. Take Flower for example: The developers said that what they did with the grass in that game could NOT have been done on the 360. Generally speaking, the PS3 is capable of handling online matches with more people in them than the 360 (has been for a while, and not just because of MAG...check the player counts on either Resistance title!). Naughty Dog said what they did with Uncharted ONE couldn't have run on 360, much less 2.

@slapshot82

Actually, the slower drive and bandwidth is because of Sony's poor decision and the time of release for tbe PS3... it was the best Blu-ray drives could do in 2005-6, if they had waited a couple more months they could've used a faster drive with more bandwidth, instead of a drive that's actually slower than a DVD drive... in that part, no matter how the game is done, drive speed and bandwidth limits the amount of data that can be read from the disc...

The poor GPU of the PS3 isn't Sony's fault (not completely at least), that was nVidia's fault, their second fiasco with the console gaming world... instead of giving Sony a top-of-the-line GPU, they gave them an old one that had already been beaten in the PC market...

The lower RAM ammount could be nVidia's fault also, their specs maybe said something about dedicated RAM and so Sony limited the GPU RAM to that dedicated RAM...

The CPU is supperior for hard work, but not so much for games... specially since it's used to make up for the other flaws of the PS3...

@Stuffgamer1 never listen to what first and second parties have to say about the only platform they are allowed to program for, they are full of BS... amount of players online is more a decision on the publishers/developers side rather than the system... both systems could handle loads of players, but most games wouldn't gain anything from it, other than being delayed and requiring higher amounts of bandwidth on the user side...

@darkg If you really hate Sony so much and think that the 360 is so much more powerful why don't you sell your ps3? If you don't actually hate Sony then why is everything always about the 360 and how it is this and that with you? Should i go in the Xbox 360 thread and talk about ps3 specs? The answer would be No right?( I'm not a 360 hater by the way once i get my arcade model you'll bet i post in the 360 thread.)
Edit: You Do have a ps3 im assuming?

@Strofan: Actually, word got out for Demon's Souls before it even released. Sadly NOT in the way that gets reservations, though. My GameStop sold out almost instantly at release and had trouble keeping the game in stock for weeks afterward. Now interest has probably increased further due to it winning Gamespot's GOTY.

RE: FFXIII. I checked some info. Basically everything about the game was scaled back so it could run on 360, just like I said. Polygon counts, texture quality, depth of field, lighting effects...pretty long list, considering. Don't believe me? Just wait until the game comes out. When the visuals fail to live up to what we KNOW the PS3 can do (as proven by games like Uncharted 2), it should become obvious that the multisystem status really screwed up development.

@Strofan..... here you go..... online purchase from Target only. $69.99

Dont let the Difficulty sway you away fromt the game. Its not hard as in the enemies are overclassed/balanced. Its hard in the way that if you get a little big headed and start feeling like a armor clad knight in shining armor that can down anything, you WILL die. It punishes you for jumping ahead of yourself. Careful exploration, thinking out your next moves, paying attention to small details for oncoming traps...... there in lies the difficulty. The game has never killed me, I killed me, for making mistakes. But man when you fight your way back to where you were and change up your strategy and defeat said enemy, the sense of accomplishment is unlike in any other game Ive ever played..... oh and if someone is just royally stomping you in the ground, there is a really good chance he is guarding a very valuable item, that you later can come back after some leveling and get.

@Adam.... thanx man I really appreciate it. Im prob going to try to find a copy of the guide online at some point just to have, but there are some really helpful guides online. In particular IGN has a really good one. I dont use walktroughs but they did a good job helping to try to figure everything out at first

@DarkG..... Thank you for keeping your post respectful man. I do know that the PS3 was scaled back in some aspect to control the cost, the slim added back some of them and the upgraded cell is suppose to be a nice upgrade as well, or so Ive heard. Besides the specs of the systems, I have both now, I find that with Sony, and the reason Ive always been a fan of Sony, is that they are always willing to take major risk on creative titles. I have always leaned to Microsoft for shooters and PJR,Fable, and for everything else I like to play on Sonys system. Its just a personal preference. Im not the biggest shooter fanatic so the 360 just isnt my first choice, and it is the system of choice for hardcore shooters. You do find that a person who is a big Microsoft fan and a person who is a big Sony fan will always have a different taste in games. That is why I dont compare the two. Regardless of what system does what, its the games that count.

Just played MAG. The map was small, and there didn't seem to be a particularly large number of players. Game play was very by the book and not particularly interesting. The few voice chatting were idiots and pottymouths both, and no one was coordinated or organizing the team. Hooray for MAG.

$15 for Matt Hazzard? I was hoping it would be $10 at the most. I'll have to wait for reviews or a sale before downloading it. Can't wait to try out the Dark Void demo!

MAG didn't impress me either. I'm going to pass on it.

@Odd..... Trine is amazing. I till havent put too much time into it, but what I have is incredible. MW2 and Demon Souls is it for me right now. lol.

MAG.... I read an article on it and the Beta is literally just the tip of the iceberg to get the ball rolling, the final game will have full 256 players and ranking will be flexible ( you can loose rank) and your rank is a job, so there will be a few high rank players who will literally command other players and they will have to put a lot of hard work and time to get it too. Sounds like a really cool concept and very hard to pull off. We shall see. Ill still be playing MW2 more than likely.
