well Nintendo Power is only reviewing games on nintendo systems so 10s will be very few are far between. (though 10s in review is a debate for another time)
That's true as well, less to choose from, less 10s. And god forbid someone making a thread about scores....

Just going to randomly jump in with my two cents; both magazines pale in comparison to old Nintendo Power. The thing I really miss about Nintendo Power was the strategy. Even if I wouldn't play the games, rading about the actual gameplay and getting an idea of the flow of the game was great. "Hands-on" and "Impressions" columns just don't do it for me.
Bacon, RPG elements and cute girls, what more could you want?

blame that on the internet. That type of model wasn't sustainable for Gaming magazines once the internet got bigger. The focus on Gaming walkthroughs and reviews is what killed alot of the older magazines in the early and mid 2000s.

in the 90s, i didn't think anything could beat electronic gaming monthly. now, I far prefer game informer over nintendo power. i have trouble trusting a review magazine made by the publisher of the games they are reviewing. regardless of what their record of giving good or bad scores or whatever is, the fact that nintendo owns them makes me feel they couldn't possibly be completely non-biased.

Actually, Nintendo stopped owning them a while ago, and they are now part of Future. But, a lot of the editors are still the same, so yeah.
They still have journalistic abilities better than anyone in GI. If te guys at NP covered all console bases, then it would most likely be the undisputed champs. Funny thing about bias, GI gave Xenoblade 9.5, while NP gave it a 9. I guess since Nintendo systems haven't been exposed to the not-so-good JRPGs of this generation, that it didn't seem as good to them. Bias indeed.
GameInformer and Nintendo Power are both pretty good magazines. I prefer NP since I play more on Nintendo systems but GI is the best when it comes to mulitplat/universal gaming. EGM was my pick for the multiplat magazine, but when they got a new design and (mostly) new staff, it went down the tubes.
Edge in general is the best gaming publication out there. Intelligent content, industry insights (rather than "10 ways the Nintedo Wii U will be awesome!!!") etc etc. It's more a thought leader publication than for the mass market, though, and less of a "fun" read.
I like Game Informer because they're a great read. Their humor is out of this world funny and the exclusive features never get old (same goes for their exclusive interviews and cover stories). Every issue has a feature too and the previews are enlightening as they help me foreshadow upcoming games.
The magazine is just infested with great humor and professional journalism. Unlike Nintendo Power (which got stale after Chris Slate took over all those years ago).

Well Gameinformer is more for me but that's because not only is it interesting but I own a 360 as well and I get the one year subscription when I renew my gamestop card. What does Nintendo Power have I've never read it and Nintendo hardly reveals much about any of their games or systems so what do you read on there? What kind of readings or info do you find on Nintendo power?

Well, Nintendo reveals about as much as Sony and Microsoft do, but there is a lack of third party reveals... However, they do get exclusive reveals and previews, the Cave Story+ 3D and new Mighty Switch Force levela were revealed by them, as well as the Pikmin 2 Wii NA release. This was all in the last issue. They also got an exclusive in depth look with Epic Mickey 2, and interveiws with Warren and DreamRift. They have a fan mail section similar to GI, but they also have a "Newd From Japan" section, a Character analyzation page, and a Community Feature, which shies off fan projects. It's pretty cool. I personally perfet it over GI. I get mu Multimedia news from Destructoid, and GI never has anything that I miss from there. So yeah. I like Nintendo Power.
Dudes. If you only have Nintendo, go NP. I love that magazine. If you have Nintendo, don't go Gameinformer. They almost never have any stories on any Nintendo games, and give unfair reviews to Nintendo games.

Nintendo Power had exclusive news on a port of a GameCube game, another port of a mediocre game that is already on the system and a DLC announcement for a 3DSWare game?
Oh man I'm missing out.

What interesting reveals did GI have? Any DLC announcements? Any news of ports? (Because you know, people like them.) Oh wait, lemme check. No reveals. It had new DETAILS on stuff. That's cool. But not a reveal. Also Cave Story, mediocre? Blasphemy.
