I didn't care for Final Fantasy VII at ALL despite having purchase it for not only the PC but the Playstation as well. I didn't HATE it but I most certainly didn't like it. Then it became available for download on the Playstation Network. I ended up buying it again and really enjoyed playing it on my PSP.
I hated Okami when I started it, both because it got repetitive and because I frequently got lost. Then I popped it into my Wii a year later and absolutely fell in love with it. I fell so much in love with it that I pre-ordered Okamiden as soon as GameStop let me.
I also hated Secret of Mana because of its cheap battle system. Then I started a new file and got farther than the other file... then got stuck again. I don't hate the game, but I still think the battle system is cheap at times.
I didn't like Mario games in general until I bought my Wii and my friend told me to play Galaxy 1 and I played that for a while and didnt really get into it but when i played Galaxy 2 for the first time i started to love it.
Playing: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3, and Ninja Gaiden 2
Super Mario Galaxy. At first, it didn't feel like a Mario game at all. I ended up abandoning the game. After my funding for video games grew smaller, I picked it back up again as it was still new to me. After getting further into it, I realized there were plenty of classic Mario quirks in the game. ^^
