Is there a game where you absolutely couldn't stand until you popped it in again and you loved, for me it's metroid prime, I just found it boring but I popped it in my gamecube today and it's actually really good, has this ever happened to you?
Sort of. I used to hate Final Fantasy because the first one I played was VIII. I played VII years later, because my friend forced me to play it, and I fell in love with Final Fantasy. Though, I've tried twice since then to play VIII again, and I still can't stand it.
Gran Turismo 3: A-spec. At first I hated that game but I decided to start over and I understood what I did wrong that made beating the sunday cup impossible.
I hated Kirby, WarioWare, and Zelda before I played them and now I love them

Sonic R and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle I hate them both but, I like them, and I don't know why.....

super Mario galaxy 1. i was just so freaking mad about not being able to get past this one galaxy, popped it in again beat the galaxy, beat the game, and almost cried.
All the children try to run, To him its part of the fun. His branching arms are for collecting, His face is empty of expressing. He sometimes hums a lowly drone, He will wander 'round your home. Dressed in darkest suit and tie, He won't let you say goodbye.
Majora's Mask. As a kid, my favorite part of Ocarina of Time was just running around all the different areas of Hyrule battling random creatures, collecting rupees and trying to find little secrets. Even when I was in a dungeon, I was very meticulous about it and wanted to find everything in there. When I got Majora's Mask, as you can imagine, the time limit drove me nuts. I seemed to only barely have time every three days to join the Bomber's group and get the password to get the Moon's Tear. I never did find that scarecrow that teaches you how to slow down time, so I thought the 15 real-world minutes were all you got. Eventually I got the ocarina back and realized I didn't have to keep rejoining the group and finding the kids, and could go on to the Deku temple... well, without slowing time, the farthest I ever got was about halfway through that dungeon. I couldn't do it fast enough, no matter how hard I tried to memorize how to do everything, so I gave up. I thought it was one of the worst games ever made.
Now it's probably my second favorite Zelda game (behind Wind Waker). I still love to explore, and the time limit does still give me trouble, but I do LOVE the intricacies of the system, and all the deep, personal, moving stories almost everyone holds. It's one of the most beautiful games in my collection.

I honestly can't remember what I used to answer this question with. Oh wait, Yoshi's Island is one, for sure! Hm....I think that's it, though. There are a lot of games that I used to hate, but now I feel are okay. There are a lot of games I used to hate before I played them, but once I actually played them I loved them. Oh well, hopefully FF6 will be one of them.
The original Excite Bike, absolutely hated it... boring, slow, not exciting at all, a few years later it's okay... and got better with the remastered 3D version.
Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, I hated the first one, but gave this one a go anyway and it was horrible. A few months later, yeah not too bad... got to the final temple and I just got bored...
Animal Crossing was a bit slow-paced for my liking until I realized that that was its huge appeal. After giving it a second chance, I fell in love with it and its guitar-playing dog.
MegaMan: I once tried the first game, on a terrible emulator with a terrible controller. I hated it, and assumed I'd hate the rest of the series. A year or so later, I had the opportunity to try them on the Virtual Console, and now I love them. The Metroid Series (mainly Super Metroid): About a year ago, I saw a boss-less item run challenge on a forum which I frequented, so I decided to try it, despite the fact that I'd never played any Metroid game. I did reasonably, but when I got to Norfair, I got sick of dying over and over and over, gave up, and marked it down as a game that I hated. Fast forward to a month or two ago. I got the chance to borrow Metroid Prime Trilogy from a friend, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Minutes into the first game, I was hooked. I played the first and second for ages, and loved them, but I haven't yet played the third. Since then, I gave Super Metroid another chance, and loved it. I tried Metroid Fusion, and it became my favorite of the series, and one of my favorite GBA games. I played the original NES Metroid and liked it, and I just finished Metroid II a few minutes ago. I'm working on gaining access to the rest of the series.
Top Gun on NES. When I first played that game, I didn't know what the heck to do, but, after experimenting with it a bit more and finding out it's perks, it's actually a pretty solid game.

I used to hate Animal Crossing on the GCN, Saw the commercial, said to myself "Wow that game looks SO gay, lol."
I made my friends hate it too until my friend Brandon told me it was awesome about a little over a year after I saw the commercials. I'm like shut up dude no it's not. So he described it and just hyped it up for me. He said he played it at Noah's house and a little before this event happened I played Noah's Gamecube and fell in love with it. I was very skeptical. So a few weeks later Noah brought his GC up to my house, again, and brought Animal Crossing. I played it for 30 minutes and knew I had to have this game. I bought the player's choice version hence it was REALLY cheap. Over a course of 9 months and 1000+ hours, I finally stopped playing Animal Crossing. Then about a month later a sequel was announced for the Nintendo DS....

Back when the first Dragon Warrior game was released I found it to be pretty boring and confusing since I didn't understand the idea of RPG's yet. It wasn't until later when the game was released on the Gameboy Color that I got hooked to the series, perhaps the reduced difficulty in that version helped ease me into it.
The original Excite Bike, absolutely hated it... boring, slow, not exciting at all, a few years later it's okay... and got better with the remastered 3D version.
The WiiWare version is decent if you haven't played it. Online play is a plus.
Kinda different then the question but a game I thought I would hate but ending up loving is Bit Trip Runner.
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow was decent on my first playthrough, vast inferiority to the other two DS Castlevanias played a big part in not being too enthralled with it. After beating it the first time, and then going through NG+ on hard for completion it was much more enjoyable actively getting everything, rather than passing through the game passively. Better than Ecclesia, after the first playthrough, but doesn't touch Portrait of Ruin
