I was already hyped on this game and after I read an interview with Kitase in a magazine the other day, I'M ABOUT TO FREAKIN EXPLODE!! Also,I can't wait to see some gameplay on Versus on E3 this year.
I hear its amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on hari-kiri rock!!! I NEED SCISSORS!!! 61!!!
I pre-ordered it a couple of days ago. I'm getting ready for my FF fiesta. The last game I played (out of the main series) that was any good was FFX-2 =/ Didn't really enjoy FF12 because it felt like a MMORPG without online playability.

That's more or less what it was, albeit with a long, complex storyline and an emphasis on strategy, since you have to conduct the actions of the lifeless bots that sub in for would-be teammates. I guess it wasn't that bad, but I definitely preferred playing Final Fantasy XI, since it had a story and world that was more interesting to me, and the gameplay's a lot more fun when you're playing it with actual people, IMO.
And good luck with your Final Fantasy Fest! I'd join it, too, but at the rate that I beat games, we'll be celebrating the release of Final Fantasy 33 by the time I make it to FF13.XD
Zavvi.co.uk just informed me that my copy of Final Fantasy XIII Limited Ultra-Amazing Hardcore Collector's Edition shipped today. A lot sooner than expected. I was gonna ask them nicely to mark the package as a gift, to give me just a slimmer of hope that it could avoid customs, but alas, I never got the chance. I have to pay lots of extra moneys now.

IGN's review is being delayed because the reviewer's progress was temporarily halted by the PSN bug, but it sounds very positive so far, and combat looks very fun in that video. Checking out Firk's linked video review now (edit: woo! that was great). I'm convinced now. I'm going to preorder this over the weekend.
Some of you might or might not know this, but when a quick comparison was done between the two versions, they looked incredibly similar. This is good news for 360 fans such as myself.
This article of course is from a PS3 exclusive site, though you can obviously see by the rating he gives the game, the guy that runs the site is very critical of the game and its shortcomings. But the article is from another source and it states that the X360 version of the game is Far Less Superior to the PS3 version. Basically if you have both systems get it for PS3 (mainly for not having to swap disc), but if you only have a 360, then who cares. Im sure the differences are about as much as between Bayonetta on the two systems, as after the PS3 patch the differences are very minor.
All that aside, I think Mass Effect 2 is the far superior game. Mass Effect was a astounding game, and not just for the girl on girl action lol. Game was incredibe mix of action, shooting and RPG elements combined. I would much rather get ME2 over FF13!

Agreed, Mass Effect was amazing. I still need to play #2, have you tried out Dragon Age: Origins yet slapshot another recent awesome game by Bioware. Took me 75 hours to beat it, and it didn't take long to rack up that many hours.

Ok,this is abit off-topic,but since Firkraag mentioned Dragon Age,I have to ask: Are the controls in that game good on consoles? Because I don't have a good PC atm and I've been intrested in the game for a while now.

I'm conflicted about this game. I'm a big FF fan and I definitely want the game and I'm used to getting FF games day one but I just don't like the style of the game(and where FF has been going since VII, IX excluded) so I'm thinking of leaving it until the end of next week.
I just don't know!

I wouldn't know, I played it on my PC.

Anyone getting it at midnight tomorrow? I am, really just for the excitement of it. Won't have time to play it until the next night.
I wish I could, but Unfortunately I pre-ordered it off Amazon, so it probably won't get here until St. Patrick's Day, and then I'll have to wait until my bro is done with.

Same here. I'm going to pick it up just so I can smell the case and thumb through the manual. Then I'm going to bed. What!? Don't act like you all don't smell the case!
