Topic: Final Fantasy XIII/Fabula Novus Chrystallis Discussion Thread

Since this seems to be the hot topic in PS3 thread, I figure we outta move the discussion to its own topic. Feel free to post your hypes and gripes. Just try not to get this thread locked, okay?(better this thread than the PS3 thread, though)

I've played it a bit. The battle system is pretty cool, much better than most of the earlier ones.

Finally! I've been waiting for someone to make this thread. TBH, I didn't want to be the one to do it.

Well since i enjoy Final Fantasy IV so much on my DS i might finally buy a Non-Nintendo platform, however that's still depends on review / pricing and if i have money left after buying software for my Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii.

I'm not into JRPGs, and multiple discs on the 360 is a turn off.

This game is my 2nd most anticpated game of the year (Mass Effect 2 FTW!) The My hands trailer was beatiiful (it helps i'm a lenoa louis fan). I heard there where no towns or anything is that true?

Yeah, the battle system seems cool, although I'm not keen on having to wait longer in order to pull off stronger attacks. I played another game that did that, and it pretty much involved waiting for like, 20 seconds while your enemies are beating the crap out of you. I'm sure it won't take nearly that long, I'm just saying, I haven't seen it work out well before.

historically the final fantasy has fared well on the new consoles, (ex. FF4, FF7, FF10). So there's definitely potential, but what is this I'm hearing about no towns and shops and stuff? It was part of the charm in Final Fantasy to walk around in a town between the as of lately increasing angst plagued teen drama cut-scenes, shame they'll cut it.

I'll get the game, but I'm growing ever so tired of Squaresoft after their last couple of games I've played (FF12, The Last Remnant). This MMO hybrid thing they got going isn't really doing it for me. Hopefully they'll regain my interest, if not this is probably the last RPG by them that I'll play unless I'm booting up the PSOne classics or they announce the sequel for Parasite Eve.

I'm excited about this game but I am also remaining cautiously optimistic about it. According to this article, a reviewer from a magazine out of Hong Kong wasn't very impressed by this game and gave it a 4/10. He even calls the game "the biggest joke of 2009". The magazine wasn't very happy with the scathing review and issued a disclaimer calling the reviewer's judgement into question. Some of you might or might not know this, but when a quick comparison was done between the two versions, they looked incredibly similar. This is good news for 360 fans such as myself.

They should be exactly the same, actually. Pretty impressive, since Square-Enix doesn't have a lot of experience developing a major project for two consoles simultaniously.

Anybody else looking forward to Versus XIII or Agito? I know we don't have much info on them yet, but personally I'm looking forward to them more than the actual FF13.

Funny article. As for Versus and Agito, I'm almost looking forward to them more than the actual XIII, although that may be because I've spoiled a lot of XIII for myself.

Lately, us Europeans have been getting the ugly American box art for FF games, instead of the cool logo-on-white-background cover they get in Japan. Luckily, they give us special editions with the original cover art. The drawback? They cost way too much moneys. Seriously, I can't afford this.

I love almost every Final Fantasy game... I'm getting a PS3 for this kitten.

I loved 12. The battle system was great, i maybe the few who liked it. But the battle system looks really amazing in 13 I'm looking forward to it.
