@Novamii@FishyS I bet we'll get some side Kirby game(s) on Switch in the next few years, but hopefully around 2026 is when we'll see the next big 3D Kirby.
As for other series in 2025, I don't think we'll get them in 2025 but it'd be nice if they'd at least announce Luigi's Mansion 4, Super Smash Bros. 6, or a new Animal Crossing next year!
I'm really looking forward to all the "Top 10 Best Switch Games" or "Ranking Switch Games from Worst to Best" videos. I'm always interested in seeing how wildly they vary
It always annoys me that the NL videos do best 20 games or whatever but refuses to rank them 1 to 20. 😆
@PikminMarioKirby Personally I think 2022 was fantastic: Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Fire Emblem Three Hopes, Splatoon 3, two mainline Pokemon games, Bayonetta 3, Xenoblade 3, Triangle Strategy, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Plus we got some highly anticipated third party ports such as Persona and Nier Automata. I didn't play all of these nor necessarily love all of them...but wow, what a selection.
Tbh outside of an understandable slump around 2020-21, I think every year of the Switch has been fantastic, with notable games being released every few weeks. Even this year - with Nintendo's own output slowing down - I think there's been more than enough third party content (especially retro rereleases) to keep me happy.
@Buizel Switch has definitely been an embarrassment of riches.

Playing through a bit of Echoes of Wisdom last night just made me more excited about the idea of Switch 2. In part because it's clear when playing the game that the poor Switch SoC is being pushed and at some points can only just keep up. It's not unplayable by any stretch but it's definitely enough to draw attention to itself
But maybe more exciting to me is how beautiful this game looks. They're definitely doing some neat tricks here. And that just gets me excited about what Nintendo and their partners are going to be able to achieve when they have RT cores, DLSS, buckets of VRAM and CPU/GPU cycles to spare
We're going to have a fun ride over the next few years I suspect

Another Code: Recollection is AWESOME! I finally found a used copy of it last week, and I just finished the first game. Had an absolute blast. I know it's a super niche title, but it's just the right kind of adventure game I like: not hard, so I can focus on the story instead. It was a refreshing 8 hours after playing some tough platformers for a few weeks prior.
A bunch of cool-looking Indie Horror games are releasing on Switch this month. Crow Country, Faith, and Slay The Princess. Also, Amanda The Adventurer is coming to consoles. So that's neat. As a horror fan. I'm eating well this month.
And they're all overwhelming positive on Steam. So that's a plus.
I was re-watching the NX reveal trailer last night on YouTube. People commenting how they were 11 when Switch released, now they're 18, that kinda thing. These people have had Switch for nearly half their lives. I envy the adolescent years they got with this little beauty.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit My adolescent years were with the Gamecube, GBA and DS - I don't envy them at all
That said, Switch is now firmly my favourite console of all time, and probably has been since...2018 or so? I'm quite grateful that the industry can continue to one-up itself and pleasantly surprise me decades into my passion for the hobby. Who knows what my next favourite will be. Let's hope the Switch 2 can live up to its predecessor.
I finally get to play the X Cup in F-Zero X again (this time in the NSO version)! Already came across a crazy track where 29/30 players fell off the track.
It’s kind of depressing how there’s always one or two new AI-generated visual novels every time I check the new releases section of the eshop.
Add to that the usual Ultra Ultimate Deluxe Complete editions of the same ten or so games that constantly get re-released, and the three or four “sexy” dating sims/puzzle games.
Anything worthwhile gets so drowned in the slop, it must be rally discouraging for actual devs.
@Eel
I was wondering what the hell are those games when I browsed from Switch eshop. 😆
They were literally scam with AI image and Ultra Ultimate Deluxe etc edition.
@Eel It was already hard to sort through good versus junky visual novels a couple years ago, so the new AI ones making it even harder is pretty depressing. Even half of the H-games are AI generated now which makes them even more slop than they were. We just have to hope Switch 2 will add some type of game or publisher rating system or some other way to have better discoverability for good games.
So I was gonna get Sonic x Shadow Generations on Switch, because portable Generations sounds neat.
But we haven't actually seen footage of the game (which after Forced and Frontiers were rough I have my doubts about Shadows side) and after the Wii title Sonic Colours came over somehow even worse than the other botched releases, I haven't much faith in the Sonic side either.
And then there's the fact that despite the £54.99 edition on other systems having the actual release date of October 22nd, the Switch version still launches on October 25.
And that's just plain weird. Everything about this release on Switch is giving major red flags which is bizarre given Sonic usually sells best on Nintendo systems.
