Disney speedstorm looks good and is it really free. And the kirby game looks good. I never played portal so that will be good too.

At this point, 2022 is pretty much 2017 Part II.

New Xenoblade Chronicles.
New Legend of Zelda.
New Splatoon.
A Mario + Rabbids game.
New Mario Kart 8 content.
No 3D Mario game yet, but the new 3D Kirby seems like a very Mario-esque Kirby game.

Plus other high-quality exclusives like Triangle Strategy, the Advance Wars remakes, Bayonetta 3, etc.

Yeah, @Ralizah .... Is that supposed to be a bad thing or something, lol? That direct was amazing!

Why would being like 2017 be a bad thing? It's almost universally considered the system's best year in terms of big releases.

Didn't watch it live, but catching up on the Direct now and it seems like a really cool one. Nice to have the middle of the calendar filled in as after like March I wasn't really sure what was coming out until like Starfield (if that even comes out), but it looks like the Switch will be taking care of me quite well during the middle of the year.

Yeah, Disney Spreedstorm looked alright I will probably give it try when it comes out. It's free to play but like most other free to play games it's gonna have gacha mechanics in it if you want to play as your favourite characters.

Has it been revealed who’s developing that new Mario Strikers game? I’m hoping it’s not Camelot but I didn’t see Next Level’s name appear anywhere so I’m kinda concerned.

I mean I'm all for Bayonetta and Metroid but you gotta take what you get sometimes. I mean for an early Feb Direct it was pretty solid. Switch Sports you may not care for but it's something I know I have been wondering where it was since the Switch launched. Mario Strikers is a great IP to revive, probably one of my favourite games on the Wii so I'm pretty hyped on that one. Then Mario Kart 8 DLC, doubling the number of tracks in Mario Kart 8 which already had double the number of tracks a Mario Kart usually has. Not insignificant

And that wasn't even the end of it. Klonoa, Portal, No Mans Sky, Chrono Cross. All fairly significant and noteworthy games to be ported to the Switch. Kirby, Splatoon and Advanced wars which we already knew about but all looked pretty solid. And also Xenoblade and Fire Emblem

Yeah you can’t please everyone but this is one Direct I can honestly say left me unimpressed. I’m all for Fire Emblem Warriors except with needing to actually finish Three Houses first and just having so many musou games I’m getting burnt out on them. Xenoblade I’ve no interest in at all. Advance Wars I knew was coming so a release date in spring sometime was a sure thing. The others you mentioned while good I’m just not all giddy with excitement about especially considering most are going to be digital titles.

@Fizza I wouldn't have thought so as it's Disney and Pixar, not Underage Anime Tentacle Boob Force.

They have a wealth of characters that could get to a silly amount of racers before even the need of alternative skins and arevaware of the risks of sexualizing their characters. There was outrage when the Brave princess wore a sparkly dress once let alone having them in hot springs type silliness.

Well they were complaining there was still no Persona port. ;p

@Fizza There's a link below to the story. They have a fair point, the character is fighting having to be a pretty princess so making her a pretty princess is going against the nature of the character.

@jump Ooooooh, I understand now, gotcha. Yeah, that probably wouldn't work now in Speedstorm when you put it like that, Disney is trying it's damndest to cling on to it's perfect image and that kind of stuff probably wouldn't do them any favours. My predictions for DLC characters then would probably be ones like Baymax, Penelope and Buzz. Oh and Sora because that would be amazing. Plus, he's Disney owned, not solely Squenix.

Yeah, that sucks for fans of that series (which I am not). The absence of the Persona series on Switch seems to reinforce the idea that Playstation has exclusivity for the numbered Persona games. Sure we get spinoffs of Strikers and Ultimax, but P4 and P5? Probably isolated on Sony platforms, even though there's no documentation to confirm that's the case.

Sony money hats everything they can get their hands on. And I don't doubt Persona 5 had an agreement.

But Persona 4 I do think will come to Switch. Atlus is making 7 Persona announcements and one of those will probably be Persona 4 Golden on Switch/PS4.

Call of Duty is coming to Switch!

Microsoft says they not only plan to keep CoD on PS beyond the agreement timeframe, they want to bring Call of Duty to Nintendo Switch.
