Damn, between Tetris Effect and the start of that Monster Hunter Rise event, Oct. 8th is looking mighty fine for Nintendo fans who love Tetris. I also love the little symbols on the tetriminoes. That might become my go-to theme for a while.
I don't get how Tetris Effect is out on Friday but we still have no price on the eShop or even any new footage since the announcement trailer...
Oh...all 3 as cloud? Hmm. I'll get them on discount then. I don't dislike cloud games, but I already own the series on PS4 so I'd be less inclined to pay full price for a non-native version.

Wth is wrong with Square Enix. They get the honor of Sora in Smash and THIS is their response? The lowest possible effort?
Man I really hate SE sometimes. They're a garbage company that does the bare minimum when it comes to Nintendo (except for their Switch division, their only saving grace). I know why it's cloud. Cause they don't wanna port all those games. Too much work.
Yeah, all the games being cloud versions is total BS, however I can't help but be ecstatic at Sora's inclusion in Smash.
Fantastic reveal trailer too. When everyone turned into trophies with the light behind them my first thought was playable Master Hand in some capacity. When Mario was approaching the fire in the dark with trepidation I thought "Dark Souls" rep. When Mario pulled out a flaming blade I totally thought Alphen (from Tales of Arise), but then it became the keyblade and my jaw dropped, lol.

Cool reveal for sure, and it's great sora is in smash, but why half @$$ the release of his games to switch owners? Surely I can't be the only one who hasn't played the games before, and with that said, why would I buy him as DLC if I haven't had the chance to experience him in a game before? Brining a cloud version of his games doesn't push me to even try them now, let alone buy him as DLC.
I think it's just 3rd parties starting to move away from supporting Switch natively. With Furukawa's comment in May 2020 about the point in the Switch's lifespan suggesting something's happening around late 2022/early 2023 and rumours intensifying about some kind of 4k Nintendo system, I think it's likely 3rd parties are focusing on that instead.
The end of Smash Ultimate would fit the timeframe too for a new system happening:
Smash 3DS/Wii U ended February 2016, Switch launched March 2017
Smash Ultimate ends October 2021, Switch successor launches in November 2022 perhaps?
It's like Square-Enix is going out of its way to make sure people can't play these games portably, lol.
Eh, oh well. I never liked KH1. I wanted to give the series more of a chance, but if they're going to act like this, I'll happily leave the franchise as one of the holes in my gaming resume.

I’m not bothered by the cloud games for KH. It has already been stated that Squeenix looked into porting and it was difficult. I’d rather something that works than something that drops to a crawl and turns my switch into a hot potato. I’m sure by the time the successor comes out (cuz KH gets trotted out every gen) that port will be native. However if I were a Nintendo only gamer I would rather have access than none at all. I’ll likely get these once I start traveling for work more. My ps4 versions are in a box somewhere.

Ya, I've always thought the KH games were mediocre, and sold on brand more than actually being good games. I thought a few were ok, decent fun, but always lost interest an hour in.
I would have given them one last shot on Switch, but this just means I'm over it.
So I'm not upset over games I think are "really good" or games I "really want to play", I'm just upset at the blatant disrespect toward Nintendo gamers from Square Enix
They make sure to port every single KH game that's ever released on a Nintendo system to PS. But when it's the other way around, it's the middle finger. Take a Cloud version. Even with Sora in Smash, still, middle finger. Take a cloud version.
The disparity between how they treat Nintendo fans and other fans is insulting.

These exactly. I played the KH games on Xbox Game Pass and they are just too clunky control-wise, or at least the first game.
Still happy about Sora being in Smash, but disappointed by Square Enix's disrespect to Nintendo fans.
I bought 1.5 + 2.5, 2.8, 3 and 3's DLC in a big Xbox sale towards the end of last year but held off playing because it takes so long to download. Now that Switch versions are confirmed and cloud, I decided just to download the Xbox stuff. Will get Melody of Memory on the Switch in a sale to get the extra song for Smash Ultimate though.
