@d0nkeyk0ng_jR We got the Star Wars games, Super Monkey Ball and Super Mario Sunshine game (in the bundle) also some minigames from Mario Party on the gamecube are playable (bundled in Mario Party Superstars). Thats what I can think of for Gamecube content on Switch.

But, they seem to be remastering and porting a number of games from the Cube. If we can just get Metroid Prime, Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and F-Zero GX, I'd forever hold my peace.

Until then, Steamdeck saves the day. Just hope the Linux version of Dolphin runs well.

@JaxonH Yeah, If they do that, they may as well add Wii games too.

@reporterdavid You're right about that, I'd be happy If we got Luigi's Mansion, Metroid Prime, TTYD, and MK DD, also Wind Waker.

Cue the pile-on, but you really can't judge screen comparisons through another screen. I look at those pictures and just think, "One is brighter" lol. The OLED is gonna look sweet, for sure, but you're not gonna be playing it next to an OG Switch all the time, are you?

I just don't see the appeal to it. I mean, they want almost the same money as a PS5 without the disc drive for a Switch with the same guts as the thing that came out years ago. That's cray.

Super Monkey Ball releases Friday! (For digital deluxe preorder customers only). That’s… in like 100 hours. I knew it was releasing Friday, but the weight of the realization didn’t hit me until now.

It’s so close I can taste it.

And Monkey Ball’s release starts the clock for the final week countdown to Metroid Dread. And it will make that week a lot more bearable. Ooooh. I just wanna play Monkey Ball. And OLED Switch. Why can’t my OLED Switch be sent out early too? I was half expecting it to show up today with everybody else getting one.

I’m gonna play the crap out of that thing.

Darksiders III eShop listing is live. I wasn't able to screenshot the pics so I used my phones camera to take shots off my TV. It actually looks pretty good. Let's hope it also runs well.

At first I thought it looked too good for Switch, but upon closer inspection I see it isn't full native res, and some straight edges have some jaggedness too them. Things you wouldn't see if these were screenshots of another version.

Hate to burst your bubble. Those are the actual screenshots you see on every game page on every other platform. Hell, those are the same leak screenshots that Amazon leaked a few years ago. I doubt that THQ Nordic would recreate those same shots with the switch build.

Any link to where these images have been used before? Should be pretty easy to tell if that's the case.

The screenshots have artifacting no other platform would have though. If you go onto the eShop and look at them yourself, zoom in with system zoom, you can see all the telltale signs of being Switch images.

I think it would be pretty difficult to downres stock images and imitate Switch screenshots like that. Not saying it's impossible, but they're very clearly lower res with some jagged edges and blurred image quality.

If, however, they are manipulated images not captured on Switch, that would be cause for serious backlash as it would indicate intentional deception. So any link would be appreciated to confirm if that's the case.

Waaat... you never played Splatoon 2???

Oh man, that game was a sensation back when it released. It's so fun. The Salmon Run horde mode especially. And the single player was good too, not to mention the Octo Expansion.

Splatoon 2 is my favorite competitive shooter ever (though I found Overwatch to be incredibly fun also). I fully expect Splatoon 3 to carry that torch forward.

Switch OLED apparently uses a glass screen, not plastic. Nintendo Prime got one sent to him from a fan that got one early, and he was taking questions on social media. I asked about the screen and he said it was indeed glass.

Glass screen seems really unlikely to me. There's no reason to opt for it with a handheld.

Could be like the OLED Vita where it has a "glass-like" plastic screen, but an actual glass screen would be shocking.

Would also explain the reflectivity of the screen which does seem more glass like.

But maybe he's mistaken? Won't rule that out yet.

A glass screen? And apparently the kickstand is cold to touch implying its metal?

Frankly I don't really care either way.

Plastic has the benefit of being shatter resistant while retaining all the benefits of glass via a $8 tempered glass screen protector.

Glass, on the other hand, saves me the trouble of applying said screen protector. It's a bit of a pain running the shower, washing your hair to prevent dandruff, removing dust particles trapped under the screen which inevitably happens every time. It usually takes me 2-3 attempts before I get it perfect.

If it's glass I may just skip the tempered glass screen protector altogether.

@JaxonH A lot of people mistakenly thought the Vita's screen was glass as well.

I could be wrong, of course.

IMO if it really is a glass screen you'll want a protector on there all the more. If something has to get damaged in a fall, you don't want it to be the screen on your console.

For sure. I just rarely encounter issues where I would damage my Switch, aside from one time I scratched my Vita screen at work.

Plastic is super easy to scratch. But if it's glass, it's not as liable to scratch, and I really, really hate applying screen protectors. Probably because I've had to do it so many times. Both my OG Switches, then my Switch Lite, then both my v2 Switches... I was so burnt out on it I never bothered with the Monster Hunter Rise Switch. Just docked it and set it on display as is.

Would be really nice not to have to deal with it, plus, tempered glass ever so slightly makes the image less perfect as the light traveling through the adhesive makes a small fractured color sparkle if you look closely. So raw would allow the OLED to shine at its full potential, and wouldn't frustrate applying yet another tempered glass screen protector.

If it's plastic its non-negotiable though. Gotta do it. Glass.... eh? I don't foresee having any issues leaving it as is. As long as it's hard enough not to scratch easily if something scuffs against it, I think it'll be fine.

Then again I've already purchased tempered glass for the OLED model. And one of the packs has a rectangular tool to help apply it squared up. So maybe I'll give it a whirl anyways, and if it comes out perfect, great, and if not, I'll just remove it and go raw.

I am still not sold on the OLED Switch. There are some crazy images circulating but I am pretty much 99.9% sure that under natural use, the OLED isn't going to look that different to the existing Switch. I know it is only a small price bump in the scheme of things, but it doesn't do enough for me to justify buying a whole new Switch. However, if there is another Switch refresh at the end of next year, which makes some substantial improvements under the hood, while using that OLED screen, I will probably bite.

@JaxonH Well I played the demo they had, and played up to level 13 at a buds house, but no, I thought 3 was gonna come out soon so I waited, turns out I was right.
