@Bolt_Strike Damn, that's a shame. I personally never regarded Naka as the Miyamoto or the Aonuma of Sega, he's like Miyamoto if he made Mario games for fifteen years, and only Mario games. The trailers and promo material made it look very good, and the final boss footage from PS5 looked alright, so graphics wise it's just another flop from Square when it runs on Switch. I never bought the game design angle, studying the Hero's Journey is basically a must when it comes to videogames with... stories... those things Naka didn't do in Sonic.

If it took this long for him to grasp one of the most fundamental aspects of storytelling his career's over.

There's a day one patch which fixes the seizure issues. Stuff like this never stopped Pokemon getting big so they need another excuse for Balan being pish.

Metacritic's annual publisher ranking.

Nintendo came in 9th, slipping from 3rd in last year's ranking.

@Magician Not too surprising when you think about what they released last year aside from Animal Crossing.

Welcome to a discussion these boards have had since the Switch Mini was still a rumor.

Old news.

@Magician @FragRed Nintendo released ports, remasters and remakes... and Animal Crossing, Paper Mario and Age of Calamity. Ports and remasters generally get worse scores than their original counterpart because reviewers from the likes of IGN don't consider the fact that it is a re-doing. Xenoblade Chronicles: DE being the most blatant example last year. The remaster got a worse score than the original despite the review saying it was a massive improvement.

@Magician you've seen a rumour about the Nvidia Lovelace core before?

TSR3

Magician

@TSR3

No, but any discussion of Ada Lovelace potentially being used in the Switch seems silly. Ada Lovelace is the eventual successor to Ampere. Ampere is used in the Orin SoC. Orin is the successor to the Xavier SoC. And nobody but me seems to believe that the Xavier SoC will be used in the Switch revision in lieu of Tegra X1 Mariko production ending soon. Allegedly.

Regardless, it's all nonsense until Nintendo themselves pipe up on what's coming.

@Magician Nope, you're not alone. I've long thought Xavier would be the basis of the next Switch revision. Though I've always had concerns about it compatibility issues (due to different GPU and instruction set version). I thought the rumour was mad, and if there is any link to Nintendo it's be for Switch 2, but I don't want to go down that rabbit hole!
I guess we'll just have to wait for Summer sometime for Nintendo to come clean ...
(PS thanks for the welcome )

When I hear Ada Lovelace, I think Cardano cryptocurrency known as ADA, which also has ten millionth units known as Lovelaces. Named after Ada Lovelace, of course.

Monster Hunter Rise is everything I had hoped for and more. I haven’t been this enamored with a game since... since... I can’t even remember. It’s good. Let’s just say that.

And it’s $49.99 at Wal-Mart right now.

Or we just shrug our shoulders and say, "Ok cool rock on" because Metacritic is Metacritic lol

I'm usually a bit more defensive of Metacritic than most. But it's one thing to aggregate scores for a single game...and another to aggregate aggregates and try to compare them based on arbitrary weighting criteria. I wouldn't read too much into Metacritic's rankings at all.

At least 2'8".

I want to believe Nintendo has something waiting to be revealed, and in a way I’m glad there’ve been less leaks. Or rather leaks from significantly less credible sources.

The man who leaked all the Super Mario 35 stuff guarantees a Zelda collection, so that would be very good. Just get the hell out, March!

@TheJGG When you say he leaked all the Mario 35 stuff, what exactly did he say was going to be included? Because a lot of people were speculating something of a collection would be released but the details everyone gave seemed to vary from “source” to “source”.

@Magician @TSR3 The rumour if true would support the other rumour that the Switch revision is more of a silent successor where the current Switch is supported for like 2 years and then everything is exclusive to the revision.

@Snaplocket I enjoyed Shadow the Hedgehog. I feel like it has far more replay value than most Sonic titles. And despite being hilariously dissonant in tone, it's a mostly solid game.
