So Far Cry 6 will have Pedro Bromfman (Narcos) as the composer and Giancarlo Esposito (breaking bad actor) as the main villain. Have to say I'm actually excited for this, I just hope this game doesn't have the awful writing that plagued 5 or it doesn't go all political. Rooting for this game, don't let me down Ubisoft.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
@JaxonH Don't remember whether I've mentioned it here before but Switch is generally a side effect. Like Dark Souls Remastered came to Switch because it was also coming to PS4/XB1 around the same time, the previously Sony exclusive Final Fantasy games came to Switch because they were also coming to XB1 around the same time, Assassin's Creed 3 came to Switch because it was also coming to PS4/XB1 around the same time, etc.
I’m not a fan of video games playing wanna-be movies. Modeling fictional characters after known actors just feels like such a desperate ploy to convince people to buy a game. Not that I don’t like that particular actor because I actually really do like them, and am completely be on board for them voicing the character, but trying to make fictional characters look exactly like real actors we’ve seen in dozens of movies and shows just feels so... Idk. Restrictive. Video games are like books, where the sky is the limit in terms of imagination. Instead, they willfully choose to restrict themselves to faces we’ve seen before. Soon Hollywood will be all over our games too, because the industry is so desperate to convince the world to accept it as a legitimate medium. All the biggest games are about to be Death Strandified.
@Grumblevolcano
It shouldn’t be, though. Games being remastered/ported are already done. If it’s worth the cost of X amount to bring to Switch alongside other platforms, then it’s worth X amount to bring after other platforms. Either it’s worth bringing or it’s not. And if it is, you don’t need to do it just as a side effect. Go down the list of every single game that would run on the system and contact a studio to bring them over. Unless expected sales are so bad it wouldn’t pay for the port, there’s no reason not to... well, perhaps limited supply of developers could be an issue- hence why we keep seeing Panic Button, Saber and Virtuos for everything. But even then, shop it around until you get a taker. Put it on the list, even if it means they can’t start on it right away.

I’ve given up on third parties a long time ago. If there’s something on Switch I want to play, I’ll get it. But the days of pondering why third parties won’t bring over certain games to Nintendo systems is over for me.
Tales of... is mentioned, but its telling that when Baba was in charge of the series and Tales of the Abyss performed really well on 3DS, his answer was “thats nice, but our audience is on PlayStation”. And that was it. Vesperia coming to the Switch was a small miracle and even with it performing well, more Tales games are out of the question. Yup, Sony is our bread and butter. Oh I guess we’ll release it on Xbox too, for those 100 people in that community who want to play it. But Nintendo systems? Nah.
We’ve heard so many weird things. Begging for ports which was encouraged by developers (Dragon Ball FighterZ), Capcom advising to buy Dragon’s Dogma to get Devil May Cry on the system, Activision not thinking about a Switch version of Crash untill a lone developer got the game running on a Switch, Sega believing that most games aren’t fit for Switch as you need to graduate from handhelds for these titles... and the list goes on and on.
I believe that the next generation will prove to be better as Nintendo will get some more credit for making the Switch the succes it is, but it will be an afterthought too for these developers.
Petz and Imagine series maybe has been discontinued long time ago.
But the clones of Imagine and Petz series by other 3rd party developers must go on.
Forget all biggie things from Ubisoft.
They will never amuse me.
I found My Universe: My Baby definetely stole my attention as looks like Imagine Babyz by Ubisoft. 😏
Ubisoft definitely stinks. It’s not like they don’t have an army of hits and are without franchises they could take to the next level.
They just made a conscious choice to play it safe and clog up the scene with more useless battle royale games. It’s sad that AAA games in 2020 either have to be big budget blowouts or E-Sports games.
Since Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, or Mario and Rabbids are modest single player experiences they will always be the last priority.
Ubisoft is really good at making boring games and making their games look boring.
Like Watch Dogs looks cool (even if it looked cooler last year), but this is kinda what I've been saying for a while. Switch owners are not really missing much when we don't get these AAA games. These companies are not putting out a lot of games, and the games they are tend to be way too similar to the same couple of types of games. And since Switch has AC games (including the pirate ones!) and other open world games in that style, and it has colorful team shooters, I have no reason to believe I'm missing out on stuff based on this event.
Like that Devolver joke event that mostly focused on not games had more interesting games.
@JaxonH shoot, I literally just archived Trials Rising to make room for Sniper Elite.
As for Rayman Origins, I don't think they'll port it any time soon since so many levels are already in the sequel. And for Assassin's Creed, they literally released two titles just 6 months ago and another 6 months before that. I don't think it's been long enough to assume it's not coming. Assuming the same people are porting it as the last two, and it's three games this time in a single package, holiday would make sense. And announcing ports at a replacement E3 presentation would've left people angry anyways. Not that they weren't, that presentation was awful, but really, there was only one console release at all announced afaik.
@Sadist Honestly, I blame the Vita. And it's not that system's fault persay, but I think a lot of AAA titles were tried to be put there and turned into barely playable messed as a result (see Borderlands, XCOM, Jak & Daxter, Dynasty Warrior, Ninja Gaiden etc).
And now, managers who aren't technically literate assume the Switch would be the same way because it's portable.
@kkslider5552000
The only Ubisoft games i like are the Petz, Imagine series and some English version of Japanese games during PS2, Wii, NDS and 3DS era.
The games were designed for casuals and kids so those were the last games i can enjoy from Ubisoft as publisher.
@link3710
That's a fair point. Legends did have a ton of the levels. Still, I'd buy Origins all day. Great game, and enough unique levels to still feel justified, at least for me. Though, no doubt Legends would be the better buy all around.
And you're right. Assassin's Creed Rebel Collection wasn't that long ago. Then again, how long after AC3 did Rebel release? Same year wasn't it? Cant remember.
Trials Rising is so good. If I could play one game the rest of my life, you could make a good argument for Trials Rising being that game. Let me know how you like Sniper Elite III btw. I was floored with how good that game is, especially considering virtually NOBODY talks about it or seems to have played it. It's 100% co-op through the campaign too. If you like it, there's also Zombie Army Trilogy which is basically Sniper Elite Zombie Edition, except more like CoD Black Ops 2 Zombies and without the stealth aspects.

@JaxonH I bought Sniper Elite 3 the other day, along with Battlezone Gold which is from the same publisher. Both had 66% off, so got the 2 of them for $26,bargain! I haven't played SE3 yet but I've been playing a lot of Battlezone and it's superb.
@JaxonH Yeah, I'd buy Origins in a heartbeat, but I could see them not wanting to remaster it when 40/66 levels are in Rayman Legends. Literally 2/3 of the game is already playable, and they focused on bringing over most of the best levels. If anything, I'd expect them to release the final handful of levels as an incentive to repurchase when they port Legends to next gen consoles.
And yeah, there was 9 months between them, Rebel Collection came out in December. But as I said, Rebel Collection was only one full size game and one smaller title, Ezio collection alone would be another three full size titles. I can't see them porting it as fast as they did Rebel Collection. Late this year or early next would make more sense.
So I finally fired up my copy of Oninaki. It must be said that of the three games that Tokyo RPG Factory have made (I Am Setsuna & Lost Sphear), Oninaki has been my favorite. Although I feel that the sparse use of music is a bit odd, when it is used it's beautiful. And a part of me hopes that their next game is a bit more bright and cheery. All of their games thus far have focused on death, loss, and acceptance of those things.
But I'm having a blast. I did a marathon session of around eight or ten hours yesterday. I believe I'm almost halfway through? I'm about to fight Night Devil for the third time.
@link3710
Rogue was a full sized title, I'm pretty sure. AC3 had included the Vita game AC3 Liberations, but Rebel had AC Black Flag and AC Rogue. Still only 2 games compared to 3, so maybe it takes a bit over a year. Ya. Might be 2021 then if it does come.

The timeline for the years current gen has been around:
2013 - Last gen and current gen gets AC Black Flag
2014 - Last gen gets AC Rogue, current gen gets AC Unity
2015 - Current gen gets AC Syndicate
2016 - Current gen gets AC Ezio Collection
2017 - Current gen gets AC Origins
2018 - Current gen gets AC Rogue and AC Odyssey
2019 - Current gen gets AC3, Switch gets AC3 (May), Switch gets AC Black Flag + AC Rogue (December)
2020 - Current gen gets AC Valhalla
The timings of the Switch announcements were AC3 in the February 2019 Direct and Rebel Collection in the September 2019 Direct. If Ezio Collection for Switch is going to happen, the most likely time to be announced would be the next Direct.
@JaxonH Oops I totally forgot and was thinking Liberation was in that pack for some reason. But yeah, GrumbleVolcano pointed out what I'd forgotten to mention, which is that Ubi's Switch ports have always been exclusively announced at directs, typically September or E3 ones. This went for both ACs, Rayman Legends, Brawlhalla, Child of Light, both South Parks and Trials Rising if I recall correctly. Which has to be the majority of their releases.
Getting incredibly frustrated with how the Switch handles downloads when internet connection is lost (for those who don't know - it returns an error and doesn't resume the download until the user manually resumes the download). My internet has been spotty lately and this has resulted me in leaving the Switch for hours hoping for a large game to download, only to find that the download has barely progressed at all.
I don't suppose anyone has heard of a fix for this?
