@Grumblevolcano
Not advertised as a collection per se, but the original Animal Crossing included (not counting the games that could only be obtained through hacking) 15 NES games.
@rallydefault I'd call it a reimagining yeah. Super Mario 64 DS had almost enough new content to be a standalone game in its own right. It certainly wasn't totally new, but it's not just Super Mario 64 on the DS either. It's a bit more like the two Persona 2 games in that they're different games in the same locations.
@JaxonH They didn't remaster those titles. All-Stars was an all-out remake (and also was in Nintendo's most experimental phase), 64 DS was a reimagining (I swear I just explained this in my last post), and yes NSMBU DX was ported to Switch... alongside literally every other Wii U title. There's only 2 left that had both good reviews and don't have technical limitations, it's pretty clear they're doing every one they can. We can expect 3D World and Pikmin 3 in the Switch's lifespan, it's more a matter of when. And they aren't going to run Galaxy upressed on an emulator on Switch, it doesn't have the juice. At best, it could possibly manage Galaxy at native res, but that's unlikely. If it's coming, it'll be a port.
And I find the fact that you think any news organization that's willing to leak confidential information but wouldn't also be willing to lie for clicks ridiculous. Either they have the same source or they found the first leak sounded good so they jumped on board to boost their own credentials. It's not like any news organization is to be trusted in the first place these days, but those sites are basically the equivalent of tabloids. Even NL pulls shady articles like that from time to time, though at least it's framed as them reporting on other's leaks, real or fake.
Not saying nothing these sites say is true, but I would never trust anything they say to be rooted in anything greater than a desire for more attention.
Stopped playing GPD Win 2 ever since I got a gaming PC where I can map gyro, and Switch got half my Steam library where I can play hybrid with gyro.
I was beginning to think about selling it because... A lot of games I have on Steam can’t run (MH World, Street Fighter V, basically anything beyond 7th gen) and the ones that can run don’t have gyro, or are on Switch. I mean, there’s still a nice list of games it does play (Ni No Kuni 2, Tales of Symphonia HD, etc), but the list is a lot shorter after uninstalling the ones that came to Switch or are FPS without gyro.
Then I remembered it plays every GameCube and Wii game, reliably, at 1.5x native res (going for full 720p causes a few stutters here and there, while 960 x 720 runs great) which looks even better on a 6” screen.
Busted out Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door again (thanks @Ralizah you made me remember how much I love that game) and it’s a dream. It runs excellent and because it’s not that demanding to emulate GameCube, I get like 4.5 hrs battery life on a full charge (compared to 2.5 running Batman Arkham Knight or any other modern game via Steam). It’s fantastic playing this game on a handheld! I’m gonna fire up Super Paper Mario next edit (playing now, and it runs flawlessly, the sideways Wiimote maps beautifully to 4 face buttons and, I map the shoulder buttons as optional for A and B which is nice, and mapped analog stick as optional for dpad) Maybe Metroid Prime 1/2 but, I may hold off for Switch. Or at least play on Wii U with Wiimote and Nunchuk.
But seriously. Thousand Year Door on a handheld is #worthit I really hope that game gets ported one day but even if it doesn’t, just having it on the Win 2 is enough for me. Especially with Origami King looking as good as it does.

Interesting. But it's still the same... game? I know what you're saying, but yea, I don't know how to phrase that. So it's like... Link to the Past and Link Between Worlds are kinda/sorts the same game but not? I mean, they're are two very different games. Is that how 64 DS is?
@rallydefault That's by far the closest comparison I can think of. Like, the world itself is mostly the same, but the game's ordering and events are mostly different.
And yeah, I don't know how to phrase it either. I don't know any other company that's made something quite like SM64 DS. It's a bit like a romhack honestly in how it feels.
Super Mario 64 DS is probably somewhere between Metroid Zero Mission and Majora's Mask 3D as a remake. But it kinda doesn't matter because the highlight of remaking one of the best and most important games of all time was somehow the unrelated minigames.
It's less than 2 weeks before launch and the 2K collections still aren't up on the eshop. While I will be playing Xenoblade first, I do want to have XCOM 2 preloaded before launch given its size.
Finally "beat" the main story in Everspace. Thought it was a pretty interesting how it ended, while still giving a reason to keep doing runs. Now my gunship is beastly, too.

@JaxonH Nintendo really should have ported TTYD over already. The game would barely need any work to pass as a modern release. It's downright gorgeous.
Which, at least, is something these games have never struggled with. Even the despised Sticker Star made some amazing use of the 3DS' stereoscopic 3D. Color Splash was, imo, the prettiest game on the Wii U, and Origami King somehow looks even nicer. Hopefully these aesthetics are married to good game design this time.
The backtracking and side-quests in TTYD suck, though. The game as a whole is brilliant, but there are definitely areas that could use some touching up.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Ralizah
Really should go back and play Color Splash at some point. I mostly liked what I played, it just didnt grab me.
I'm unsure of Super Paper Mario. Went back and played some of it today. It's so unique and different. Plays well on handheld and with an Xbox controller once you map it correctly (I set the IR pointer to Left Trigger but with the NOT! command, meaning it's not on unless I hold the shoulder button, one of those weird kinks in mapping Wii games that mixed IR pointer). Like the 3D flip mechanic and even the IR pointer for invisible doors and stuff. But Idk how I feel about the real time combat and semi-platforming focus.
Thousand Year Door, made it up to where I got the stone key but now need to find the Dragon thing. The Koopa just joined my party. Not sure which way to go. Left, out of the town? Or right, back underground (but it seemed to dead end when I beat the quiz boss).
In any case, it's high time I give this series more attention. With a new game soon, the motivation is there to play TTYD and the Wii entry. Found a way to bounce save states from handheld to the TV via home network sharing. So that's cool.

When you first entered Petal Meadows from the warp pipe, but before getting to the town, you should have seen a large castle in the background and a weird rock thing you could interact with. So just go left out of town.
I've also seriously thought about picking up Super Paper Mario, since I'm much more interested in this series now, and since, unlike a lot of Wii games, second-hand copies are reasonably cheap to obtain. I already have N64 Paper Mario on my Wii U, so that's taken care of. And I'm playing a copy of TTYD. No real desire to re-visit Sticker Star, but it might be worth picking up a copy of Color Splash and playing it without judgment at some point. I think I'll prioritize the clearly better games first, though.
I'm for sure at some point grabbing color splash and super paper Mario. I can't find a cheap enough copy of color splash just yet though. Super paper Mario is 20 digitally, but I wouldn't mind finding a 2nd hand physical copy if push comes to shove.
I'll prob pass on sticker star, unless i find it for cheap.
But I've been playing paper Mario the last couple of days and love it. Just did the first major dungeon of the game and it was great. Some light puzzles, nice battles, and good bosses.
I just saw on Amazon US that Paper Mario Color Splash is the #1 Best Seller in Wii U games lol (and #894 in Video Games overall! That’s like... better than XCOM 2 by a long shot) And at $48 a pop!
I think that game will be remembered more fondly in time.
edit
And holy smokes. Paper Mario Origami King is the #1 Best Selling actual game in Video Games. With Xenoblade Chronicles right next to Last of Us and Ghosts of Tsushima at #14, #15 and #16
Seems like Switch games have a lot of eyes on them right now. I think Xenoblade Chronicles is going to outperform Xenoblade 2, which would be even more amazing given the fact it’s already released on 2 other platforms. And Paper Mario The Origami King will almost certainly take a shot at Super Paper Mario for best-selling entry in the series. It needs to do 5m to claim the crown. If it can match Luigi’s Mansion 3 hype, which I think is within reach, it very well might. It will certainly surpass Thousand Year Door, Sticker Star and Color Splash, all of which were around the 2m mark.

@JaxonH Nintendo did completely botch both those previous releases though, the whole Operation Rainfall followed by Gamestop exclusivity situation with the Wii version and then the 2nd version being an exclusive for a hardware revision (New 3DS). The first version that was handled well was the digital Wii version released for Wii U.
