So to get another Street Fighter on Switch apparently we need to port beg to Nintendo says Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono. What?
“Can you go over to the Nintendo booth and maybe just like shout that at the VIPs in the back stage? Because they’re the ones you really need to talk to – not me. Even with our previous Nintendo title Ultra Street Fighter II, Nintendo came to us and said, ‘We want to do something with Street Fighter II because it’s been 25 years since it came out on previous Nintendo consoles,’ so I think they’re the ones you need to convince, so go and mob that booth“
It’s still weird how there are stil third party developers that feel like they need Nintendo’s “support” (a.k.a. Money) to make/port games for/to Switch. I thought we saw the end of this first year of the Switch.
Have you played Disgaea 4 before, @JaxonH .... ? You are, presumably, familiar with the series, at least
Any particular reason why you don't like Windows 10, @Ralizah? Just wondering
@BruceCM Yeah. It has been plagued with security issues since day one, and it caused a number of performance issues with older systems when Microsoft started forcefully updating people to the OS. The interface sucks, too, although I imagine you can use classic/open shell with it and make it resemble a proper OS like you could with 8.1.
I'm sure I'll EVENTUALLY have to adapt to it just because there will be nothing else available on the market when I get a new computer, but for now, I'll enjoy my Win 10-free existence.
@Ralizah
There are certain things about Win10 that are frustrating, but honestly they've been steering it more and more back toward Win7. I HATED Win8, though, so it seems we're looking for very different things in our OS lol
I've tried Linux in the past, but it's just more work to do the same amount, generally. They've expanded compatibility with gaming (Steam is a big one obviously), but it's still niche.
I HATE Apple products and OS. My work issues us iPads and Mac Books and blaaaaaaaaaaaah can't stand them. I worked on Macs for graphic design through high school/college and couldn't stand the OS/hardware at those points, either.
@rallydefault 8.1 is only tolerable with classic shell applied so that you can actually use a start menu instead of the stupid metro screen. I haven't seen my metro screen in four years or so. It's great. All the performance benefits of Win8 without the obnoxious UI issues.
I'm working on a Macbook right now, actually. I also hate the things. The UI is so unintuitive for me. My family doesn't use any Apple products.

Weird? Not really. Although the Switch is the #2 console globally, it's the last consideration for publishers as a platform to port their games to. Mobile > PS4 = Xbox > PC > Switch. Nintendo's insistence on not following graphical fidelity trends places Nintendo at the back of the line in regards to third party support.
Randy Pitchford was asked why the Borderlands series wasn't on Switch yet, and he had mentioned that they approached Nintendo for financial support to produce possible Switch ports and Gearbox was denied.

Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
@BruceCM
Ya I tried a bit of it on Vita, and D5 on PS4 and then Switch. Decent strategy game series. Not great. But decent. Trying to get my vita library migrated over to Switch.

@Ralizah Is it that bad though? I don't really understand the criticisms for Windows 10. Or Mac OS even. I would prefer to use Windows any day, but the MacBook touchpads are 11/10s that it's enough for me to put up with it.
I don't know, am I missing something?

Moreso than even previous Windows operating systems, it spies on and monitors you and transmits data back to Microsoft. Also, the license agreement explicitly states that Win10 can sniff out and disable certain types of software (such as software they determine to be "pirated")
No control over the OS in terms of how updates work, such as the way it ditches the service pack model.
Can and does install software without your consent when it updates.
Breaks compatibility with some more recent PC games such as Starcraft 2
I'm still not over how the installer was forced onto peoples' PCs without their consent, often causing major issues with older systems running Windows 7 due to driver compatibility issues.
Deeper integration of corporate bloatware and apps with the OS.
As to Mac OS? I just don't like it. Apple devices sacrifice customizability and flexibility in terms of what can be done with the hardware in order to offer a 'walled garden' approach to OS design that they deem to be more user friendly.

@Ralizah
I agree with everything you said except the StarCraft II thing... I can still play that just fine?
I think it's a sad reality that almost everything tracks you these days, though. Mac OS does a ton of tracking, too, but I will give credit to Apple for at least acting more concerned about containing your data and keeping it private. There are ways to disable most of the tracking in Win10 and Mac OS if you know where to look and/or do some research. Start with disabling Cortana, for sure.
But same thing goes for smart phones, any kind of "smart" home device, any of those Alexa/Hub/whatevers...they're all tracking you and monetizing you. Same thing goes for any car made past like 2012 (maybe earlier).
I refuse to put any of that "smart" stuff in my house. Not because I have anything to hide, but because I don't want to buy into these huge corporate giants like Amazon and Google. Well, at least buy in as little as I can and still live a relatively modern life lol
@BruceCM
Not yet. Gonna grab it physically through Limited Run. It’s 10gb, and since I already filled my 1TB with digital versions of games and am having to delete the worst ones to keep the best 1TB worth of games on there, I’ve decided to stop buying digital versions of games that have a physical option unless I know it’s good enough to be in that 1TB group.
