Has anyone tried those hori dpad joy cons that only work in handheld? They're on sale at a retailer by me for $13 and I Just wanted to see what people thought about them.
I was happy with the standard joy-cons, @NintendoByNature .... Hori is well known for it's accessories, though & at that price, you might as well try them out yourself
Playing some Darksiders II, and replaying the start of this game just reminds me how epic the opening half hour is. If they ever make a top 10 list for best openings in a video game, Darksiders II would be vying for top spot.
Atelier Ryza lookin real good on Switch. Big step up from previous titles. Actually seems like a solid B-grade JRPG now instead of C-tier.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Anyone grabbing Ghostbusters remastered in a week or So? I never played the original so I'm not sure what to expect but I think i might grab it to hold me over til lm3.
Just picked up No No Kuni. Amazing game! The art and story I can already tell are going to be great. I had never played this one before now. Although a friend of mine kept telling its one of his favorite games.
And we have another one to add to the ever growing pile
@Ralizah
I always assume docked unless otherwise specified.
DOOM ports were already addressed a while back as far as the logins (and even then it was a one time thing, and you could type any bogus address you wanted). In any case that’s addressed, and not sure what other issues there were.
The update fixed lighting and performance issues. Also, if you do optionally sign in to Bethesda.net account you unlock a special DOOM Eternal skin and nameplate for when the game releases, which I think is pretty cool. Make it optional, provide incentive. How it should be,
@scubydo
Yes, Ni No Kuni is amazing. An absolute must own for any RPG lover who owns a Switch. And it looks SO good in handheld mode. A true top tier Switch release. I’ll be making cuts to fit the best games on my 1TB micro SD for Switch Lite, as it’s all digital and only the best of the best get chosen for it (and 1TB is already filled up, my goodness), but as I start archiving games to make space as new games release ( at least until the inevitable 2TB card at the end of the generation where I can have all the best games fit), I can tell you this: Ni No Kuni will NEVER be one of the ones archived. Neither will Dragon Quest XI S or Witcher 3. What a trio of handheld RPGs... unbelievable how big of a leap Switch was over 3DS.
I pulled out my 3DS The other day and fired up Dragon Quest VII, and set my Switch Lite next to it with Dragon Quest XI S demo... the leap feels just as big, if not bigger, than the massive jump from PS2 to PS3.
3DS vs Switch Lite is truly a massive, massive leap for handheld gaming. And not just in terms of graphics but feature set as well.
Can we take a moment to truly appreciate how great summer ‘19 was for Nintendo Switch?
And that’s just the summer, and that’s not even accounting for games with slightly less stellar reception or games too small to get reviewed, but that were still solid games (some even being stellar). Such as:
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 God Eater 3
Wolfenstein Youngblood Daemon X Machina
Bloodstained Ritual of the Night Collection of Mana
Tetris 99 Bulletstorm
DOOM 1/2/3
Dragon Quest 1/2/3
DMC 1/2
Grandia HD
Red Faction Guerrilla
etc.
And we had a pretty nice first half of the year too, just for Trials Rising, Tales of Vesperia, Assassins Creed 3, Resident Evil 0/1/4, Dragons Dogma, Final Fantasy X/X-2, Final Fantasy XII, Chocobo’s Dungeon, Ace Attorney Trilogy, NSMBU, Yoshi, Mortal Kombat, Cuphead, Hellblade, Darksiders, etc.
And fall looks to be keeping it rolling, with Ori and the Blind Forest kicking off the next 3 months of awesomeness (I suppose Dragon Quest XI S also releases same day, but reviews are already out for that one).
@JaxonH
So many good games... it's crazy. Q1 next year is already set to be the best first quarter of the system's life too. From the XC thread I posted:
January 14: Atlier Dusk Pack (Three PS3 titles)
January 17: Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore
January 23: Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition
February 14: Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate
February 25: Gods and Monsters
March 20: Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Compare what we know now to 2019's Winter months and well...
Any UK buyers looking out for a new model (better battery life) of the Switch, Very.co.uk are doing a £50 code at the moment for new accounts. I just ordered one for £210. Beats the value of the Switch Lite in the face with a stick.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
Q1 is a low bar to beat for game library but a very high bar to beat for Directs in the Switch era. So far I'd say 2018 had the best Q1 game library and 2019 had the best Q1 Direct.
Hi everyone! I'm new to this community but I've loved Nintendo all my life and I'm looking into getting a Switch over Black Friday. I've got mostly all the other systems too, and while I liked the Wii U and still use it, there aren't any new games coming out, so I thought I would check out the Switch.
Two questions: 1. Do you know of good grips for the joycons that I could use as separate controllers? I've looked at some silicone ones and some grips that go on the whole system, but I'm not sure what I'll like. I just know I want something with more of a grip/bump/handle on the back so the controller is not so flat (really uncomfortable for me, even though I have tiny hands). 2. What do you recommend for a good case? Anyone use this one? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MP1BLR4/?coliid=I20R4D8263J11I&a...
