I buy my games on their website. I login to the site, purchase the game, and then it's waiting for me to download them under the "Redownload" section of the store under my account on the Switch.
It should work and carry over to the Switch when you get one if you can make an account on the website.
@JaxonH For the record, just so there's no lingering shadow or misunderstanding, at no point did I question any validity of any of your posts, and if at any point it appeared as such I assure you that was never the intention of anything I said. There.
m-Cable. Unfortunately, HDMI cables, good ones, bad ones, everything else, have a bad habit of failing for no reason. Well, there's a reason. The connector design is a disaster, designed by lawyers for DRM and security rather than electrical engineers. It's severely underbuilt for the weight it ends up supporting and the only realistic workarounds have been not part of the actual specification involving locking connectors and such used in the high end HT industry (sometimes.) It's not m-Cable specific, but just building anything onto an HDMI cable means high risk that you lose the good device whenever the cable connector/strain relief decides to get iffy. It would have been nice if they'd made an adapter/coupler instead of making it a permanent part of the cable connector, for longevity.
Still I'm pretty tempted. I don't like the idea that it might make me notice flaws on the handheld mode more, where I currently notice none, but the jaggies/sparkles REALLY annoy me on the "TV" since my "TV" is a monitor right in front of my face.....jaggies&sparkles REALLY stand out in an annoying way that close. Especially after playing X1X or PS4 Pro.
For PSVR, I can't remember how the wiring works. I think here's an HDMI cable into the box, and then a proprietary connector + HDMI to the HMD. I'd assume you put it between the PS4 and the VR box, but maybe that's the special setup - putting it between the HMD and box on the Y-cable instead.
+1 on Jaggi - I'm not even an MH superfan and it's the first thing I think of.
@EvilLucario Every pixel compressed is another $.00002 in Google's coffers! Pretty much everything about Youtube is terrible. The good part about YouTube is they have so much content that's not anywhere else and it plays on anything. The bad part about YouTube compared to every other video service is the terrible video they deliver. And the noxious ads. And the opaque bureaucracy behind it.
MS Mixer streaming is the best of he bunch. I've started watching all E3 stuff on Mixer (except Nintendo of course)...the video is crystal clear.

@BlueOcean In the US, you can buy on the website, I would think UK can as well. I'm pretty sure you don't need a Switch linked to the account to buy, considering you can deactivate your Switch as primary at any time. That said, most of us here have one linked, so you might have to try to find out.
@BlueOcean Then you have nothing to worry about I think. You can purchase the games now and they will be waiting for you to download them when you get a Switch and link your profile on the Switch with your account.
I'm not 100% certain, but that sounds right to me.
@Lilseb93 Yeah, I thought that I could because I have an account on Wii U but no. I will probably get a Lite once people can confirm that it doesn't have any drift issues.
@NEStalgia
I don’t think it will. If you’ve played other consuls than you’ve seen sharper graphical imagery than Switch with an m-cable. I mean, you might intentionally notice it if you’re looking to compare to see how good of a job it does in relation to handheld mode, such as I did with Fire Emblem, but it only makes me appreciate how it looks in TV mode more, rather than appreciating handheld mode less.
@BlueOcean
I believe Wii U used NNID, whereas Switch uses a Nintendo Account, which you can create on this website and then subsequently pair with your NNID from Wii U:
@JaxonH I've never had an issue with handheld mode jaggies (and I'm annoyed like crazy by them), so if it won't make me suddenly notice, I'm probably good to go then! I might pick one up in the next few weeks. Or two, if I want to use it for VR, too. I just hope it handles being used as an extension well enough. Despite a whopping $8 difference I might get the 3ft instead of the 9ft and just use it as a dongle before my existing cable.
@JaxonH@BlueOcean Good point, I just assumed Blue had the NNID linked to a Nintendo account, but if not, that could be it. Considering it's Nintendo though, I certainly wouldn't doubt they actually check that you've ever had a Switch tied to your account so you can't accidentally buy things for a console you don't have (Think of the children! With credit cards!)
Just downloaded DOOM 3, a nice little surprise. This last month has been insane. Super Mario Maker 2, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, the Mighty Switch Force Collection and now DOOM 3 out of no where. Nintendo is killing it this summer.
@IceClimbers so you have to create a bethesda account? Can you do it from your switch or do you have to go online and take care of all that? Just figured If it's the latter i can get it done before i get home
