The E3 trailer for Elder Scrolls Legends (that card mobile game) trailer contains the date of Nintendo's E3 presentation. Possible stealth drop during the direct?

Doom Eternal looks incredible. Cannot wait to pick it up on Steam, but I'm making sure to double-dip for Switch sooner or later.

Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!

Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.

2D Metroid game incoming at E3.

Hope for a real 2D pixel-art Metroid and not an ugly 2.5D game.
I cross my fingers.

@PCkid Oh? Is a 2D Metroid one of the rumors going around? I hadn't heard that.

Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition

Toy_Link

@Ralizah Along with a [SPOILER]
new Warioware
And if the rumors are true the Metroid game is indeed 2.5D sorry @PCkid.

Streaming will gradually pick up speed and live alongside consoles. It isn't like Netflix and Hulu have killed off disc-based mediums, but that market has definitely shrunk. 'casuals' for a lack of a better term, will see getting the latest FIFA streamed to their tv as a better proposition than the hassle and cost of buying a console. And not having to have ugly boxes in the living room. You also won't need the sub for playing multiplayer, it is already in the sub cost.

It is also better for the devs, one target platform instead of multiple to deal with. Plus, if it is their own platform, no cut taken by the platform holder.

And then you have those that are on platforms that for some reason or another don't get all the big titles from all the major publishers, ie Nitneod Swatch fans. Yes, this is how you will get EA games on the switch. Hope you are ready for it.

I wouldn't call that a source, since they themselves are talking about a rumour. The original list they are talking about is the source. It becomes really hard to validate any claims when the source is missing. Elder scrolls blades coming to switch seems to be why they think metroid and warioware will be announced, which can be a lucky guess as far as we know.

@Therad
Just curious did you watch beyond the first 50 seconds of the video? They immediately mention afterward the same leaker leaked the final name for the DBZ RPG; DBZ Kakarot, the release window for XBOX Scarlet, Minecraft Dungeons, FO 76 Battle Royale, Fallout NPCs, etc.)

No, I listened to it. But some of those have been heavily rumored before. It is also quite possible the leaker works at a PR firm, this means they might have seen the footage from one of the streams, but that doesn't necessarily translate to them knowing anything about Nintendos presentation.

Don't get me wrong, I would be happy if those were true, we are long overdue a new warioware and 2d Metroid (well, sorta). But I wouldn't preach it as gospel just yet.

@Therad Definitely. The best approach is to take all leaks with a grain of salt.

Is it just me that thinks it is funny that the next big thing both sony and microsoft are pushing for the next gen are loading times?

@Therad If anything says "we've taken interactive animated graphics as far as we viably can", it's this wave of loading times buzz.

Now we need AI to take over and start making our games for us.

Once they've rinsed the loading times marketing for as much as they can (which is probably not very much) it'll probably be sexy latency next for the 'too soon' streaming services.

Bethesda's conference let me down. Looks like their support of the Switch has ended considering Elder Scrolls Blades, Doom Eternal, and Elder Scrolls Legends were already announced at last year's E3. No Prey port? No Fallout 3 or Fallout 4 port? No Dishonored port? Disappointing.

Switch Physical Collection - 1,558 games (as of April 7th, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)

This is what I thought would happen, 3rd parties see next gen and then stop supporting Switch. Thanks to the Microsoft conference, we now know that next gen will start holiday 2020 at the latest (Xbox Scarlett launches holiday 2020, though PS5 could be earlier).

Yeah, streaming will be pushed big next gen. I also think it might get quite big, despite all rumblings. Why buy a new fifa every year when you can just start playing the latest the same second it is released? Not every game is latency sensitive. Anything turnbased or slower paced like jrpgs, fire emblem, civ, sims etc, wouldn't suffer much from latency.

And we have heard the same thing about latency when it came to wireless controllers and mice. People adjusted, they will this time again. Devs will also become better at creating games where it is more hidden, in the same way shooters on consoles have auto-aiming and are slower paced than their older siblings on PC were.

the big problem will be preservation, you can't preserve a game that you don't have access to. And they can remove games anytime they want. Want to play dark souls again? Too bad, we only have the dark souls remastered and it is locked behind our premium sub for $40/month.

While I can see the bigger western third parties going missing on Switch now, that will leave a bigger market for the mid-tier stuff and Japanese.
