@Tsurii I've never heard of that game before, but it looks actually pretty neat!

Hmph, you kids and your Dreamcatchers...

Years I’ve been waiting for Guardian Heroes to be remastered, years - I know that it was only about 5 people worldwide that owned a Saturn but >sniff< we have feelings, wants and needs too!

PS: I would also rub myself inappropriately on a Power Stone remake/remaster/re-release!

PPS: Code of Princess Ex was recommended a while back as a modern-day Guardian Heroes, it’s been at $60 since release and i’ve been on the fence for so long (got too many things to play right now anyway) - has anyone here got any good/bad experiences with it? >runs off to see if there’s a thread for it<

@BrainOfGrimlock
Saturn fans have "Wants and Needs Too"
I've never had or even so much as played a Saturn, but I do feel your pain, with my poor TG-16

"If failure is the greatest teacher, how come we are not the most superior beings in the universe ???"

BrainOfGrimlock

@jhewitt3476 If they’re releasing an Atari and remaking the Intellivision after all these years then who knows, the TG might be next for an ‘expensive and interesting but ultimately futile because not many people will buy it’ release? I hope so for your sake - the TG is one of the few things i never owned (neo-geo & 3do being two other such examples) due to parents making my purchasing decisions in thise days, but it always seems to be remembered well?

World of Final Fantasy Maxima is over 10 GBs and there's no physical release for Switch. Sigh

@BrainOfGrimlock the TG-16 was a phenomenal idea and implemented very well, great and reasonable price, the 16 bit games were based on a processor that concentrated on speed rather than power, and the games reflected that and the increased number of sprites made for some fun games, it had an add-on cd-rom module, and the cartridges themselves were the size of credit cards, lending itself to another great item, a portable like the gameboy, but had full color, back lit display, it played the Hu-Cards flawlessly and it had a add-on also that turned it into a portable television, the company had the right idea....."One Ring To Rule Them All !!!"

only problem was it just didn't have the marketing in the U.S. and Europe it did in Japan (where it was very popular), but it was a great system none the less

Buizel

@BrainOfGrimlock Guardian Heroes was remastered for the Xbox 360 so I wouldn't be surprised if it turned up as part of Sega Ages or something. Power Stone also had a PSP release... I personally think the Switch would be a lot better suited being the local multiplayer machine that it is.

Would rather wait for Black Friday. Hoping to nab Crash or Wolfenstein for cheap then.

WoFF Maxima preload is live. Only $40. Was totally expecting $60 honestly.

Anyways, grabbed Pirate's Curse in the sale. Gonna be the last thing I pick up this year though (well, besides above mentioned Crash or Wolfenstein) because I got convinced to spend about 2 grand for a NBA ticket package. Only a $700 down payment though, but it definitely is taking up all of my excess spending money for a while.

Edit: I should probably mention that I already preordered Smash months ago lol. Can't miss that game!

@Buizel omg... How did I never know/notice/see that?! It’s been out for ages too and best part is it’s backwards compatible!

Will be downloading this beast when I get home, you have literally made my day. Unless it has aged terribly. Then you’ve simply caused me to pine for a remake/sequel even harder whilst being ever so slightly poorer.

@jhewitt3476 I get quite misty-eyed reading/reminiscing about the old machines; dunno if it’s because I was much younger & we weren’t surrounded by tech but they just seemed to ‘wow’ more? Weird really because I still love the old machines but struggle to muster much enthusiasm for games older than the 16-bit era so can’t exactly call myself a dedicated retro gamer?

I'm wondering if Gamestop will have a "Black Friday" on new AND used games....

So WoFF is now on the eshop. But there's no mention of physical on the Nintendo page for it. Nor does Amazon or other retailers mention physical. Yet they have ffxii up. WoFF on X1 had physical everywhere. Anyone know what's up with that?

@Mrtoad
Saw that. Kind of upsets me, but it's a game good enough I was going to buy digital anyways as part of my "must have 24/7 collection".

I'll count my blessings with Final Fantasy X/X-2 getting a physical release, and Final Fantasy XII getting a physical release. I would have liked to see WoFF get one also, in fact I'm gosh dang shocked it isn't, but despite my aggravation I will take it in stride, because 1 at least the game is coming and 2 as previously stated, the ones I really care about are getting a cart release. I'll wipe my tears with those, as I enjoy this game digitally.

Also, Amazon UK has the new Samsung 512gb micro SD up for order despite being temporarily out of stock. This is the one I've been waiting for because Samsung makes the best SD cards. Just ordered one, which even shipping to the US came to $250 total. The £189.99 price dropped considerably in my cart since I don't live in EU, and VAT was dropped from the sale. Which... that is an amazing price. The first 512gb I got, the Integral, cost $350 and... ended up failing. And it was a little slow loading data on the data management menu. Glad this one is now on the menu. That should really help free up some space. It will certainly be sold for $350 in the US, maybe $300 if they're super aggressive with pricing. So $250 before it's even listed in the US is a phenomenal deal and really helps prolong storage issues on Switch.

And with Hori's new plastic kickstand with SD storage slot releasing soon, I can tuck my current 400gb card in there for overflow of digital games that can't fit on the 512gb after it fills up. This is my recommended plan of action for anyone who wants to tackle the Switch storage issue head on. It's a great feeling when you can buy a game that releases on Switch digitally... and not have to worry about it's file size

8 bits man, 8 bits !
A Hu6280 (8 bits CPU) + a HuC6270A (16 bits GPU but wired in 8 bits on the CPU side).

And here in France (I don't talk about Europe but just France) we had an official distribution of the PC engine/CoreGraphX/CDROM2/SuperGraphX/GT.
It was a company named SODIPENG( SOciété DIstributrice de PcENGine ) that was distributing the consoles.

Two fun stuffs about it :

_All the NEC consoles were RGB SCART(Péritel in French) modified for us because we had everything with that connector here which is great because it's the best quality image that you could get. Basically, we had better image than the japanese themselves... LOL

_The people behind that company probably ring the bell for a lot of today's gamers... I'm gonna leave a hint just below. ^^
Untitled

By the way, the same company did the same thing with THAT ^^ :

So, as you can see, before Assassin's Creed and Rayman, Yves Guillemot and his brothers were ruling the game like a bosses already... LOL

@BrainOfGrimlock pleasure to help! I've not played it yet myself so unfortunately have no comment on how it plays. Maybe when I have an afternoon free I'll give it a go.

World of Final Fantasy Maxima will be released on 6 November 2018 according to its trailer.

NEStalgia

@Yosheel Hey, I resemble that remark!

@Cobalt Yeah the Guillemots go waaay back. It's actually sad seeing how they've become so "mass market' the the point of boasting about all streamed games these days because they used to be kind of the epitome of pure gaming...that's why Ubi and Nintendo still get along so well.

@Anti-matter yeah...but...it's looking like digital only (at least in NA?). The official page on nintendo.com doesn't have a "buy physical" button, and no retailer seems to be listing it at all. (Conversely Smash has only a "buy physical" button and no eShop pre-order yet.)

@DarthNocturnal @JaxonH That's just bizarre. I know it's a re-bundling of an older PS4/Vita exclusive....but XBox One and PS4 are getting a physical version for the same price. It makes no sense, in typical Square-Enix fashion. XBox One that has almost no history with classic Square and FF other than the "modernized" 13, 14 MMO, and 15 gets a physical edition. VITA got a physical edition of the original release. But Nintendo, the original home of FF, the platform that every old-school RPG Square puts on it outsells expectations. The split home of DQ along with Sony. No, that one is a fly by night digital release.....

Oh, Squeenix....

But, it ANNOUNCED in Physical for USA version from playasia.com

I Really, Really Hope the Physical version will be released on 6 November 2018 as from the trailer because i want to get rid my PS4 version of World of Final Fantasy. My Final Fantasy games on PS4 suddenly LOST their worthiness when they also released on Switch.

NEStalgia

@Anti-Matter Hmm, interesting. Though it doesn't have an actual preorder button that works, just a "save for later". I wonder if S-E changed their mind at some point.

To add to the confusion the Square-Enix store has a physical copy for preorder for X1. A waiting list for Steam digital. And no mention at all for PS4 or Switch......

Square is botching this launch pretty badly. It's 2 weeks away and they don't even have the biggest two platforms for the game on their own website.....
