@Cobalt
Why the heck you only care about Exclusives ?
What's wrong to play Switch games from another consoles also ?
I have some games that ALSO Ported on Nintendo Switch and i felt HAPPIER because :
1. I will get Better performance like Go Vacation Wii, LEGO CITY Undercover Wii U, Mario Kart 8 Wii U. I still KEEP the original games.
2. I CAN Play World of Final Fantasy MAXIMA, FF X/X-2 HD, FF XII, Portal Knights, Overcooked, etc on Nintendo Switch. They are originally NOT from Nintendo machines, but from either Steam or PS4. I have the PS4 version of World Final Fantasy, FF X/X-2 & FF XII, but the Switch version in the future are WORTHIER than the PS4 version, so i will sell the PS4 version & replace them with Switch version.

I buy games NOT for the Exclusiveness. I mixed up with NON Exclusive games such as PORTS & Multi Releases as long those games are interesting.

Just a nice classic expression can be used for you: you're entitled to your opinion, but dang; yours is certainly loud and incessant.

You're getting a lot of pushback because 1: you're on a Nintendo forum and 2: you're mostly a negative voice in every thread you participate in. Everybody has that one friend who is very intelligent, but gosh dang if everything out of his/her mouth isn't doom and gloom and pouting.

There's a difference between establishing yourself in a community like this as a mediating, rational voice willing to put aside any kind of Nintendo favoritism and just being blanket-negative on everything and then snapping at people when it (naturally) starts to grate on them.

Cobalt is telling the truth, but unless you are in Cobalt's shoes, there is absolutely no reason to feel aggrieved with him lol. And certainly there is nothing to feel bad about. Nintendo are making money hand over fist and Cobalt has enough consoles to find something to play. So everyone is happy. Zero drama.

I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.

the drama is another rich kid who can afford all the systems anyway without real issues whining on the internet because his 300 dollar console investment didn't turn out well for him instead of waiting like the inevitable millions who will buy Switch in the future while i'm smart with my money and wait for the console

shrugs

i'm gonna clearly get more out of it and that's subjective and fine or whatever, but i actually have to put some level of thought into buying a console, so lmao no sympathy.

Oh man, people whinging about Switch's first few years better have complained about the PS4/Xbox One's early years. Remember when their best games for the first two years were ports, that being Halo MCC (which was bugged out the ass) and Last of Us Remastered? The PS4 only got worth owning by 2016 and Xbox One 2017 with the Xbox One X (and even then, just spend a bit more to get a great PC).

@rallydefault The problem is that he isn't rational and isn't throwing out good arguments. I'm fine with people not liking certain games, after all I do not like Zelda as a whole which is pretty unpopular. So not liking some games isn't the problem, but the problem is making up faulty arguments and/or not looking at things in context.

So whenever he comments on something, I just laugh at the comment. Even if it's true (because after all a broken clock is right twice a day), the way he phrases everything like a elementary schooler makes me laugh my ass off.

Normally when new consoles come out I don't rush out to buy them because most of their games are already available on current systems, just with not as good graphics. I usually wait until there are enough exclusive games I'm interested in playing before buying the new systems. With the Switch, there were some games I could've bought on other systems I already owned (like BOTW) but the ability to play all of these games anywhere and not tied to my gaming setup pushed me to purchase a Switch earlier than I normally would.
Some people have no interest in playing on the go, so for them, I get that they're going to want to wait until there are more exclusives. Personally, I've been more than satisfied with the exclusives so far, but it all comes down to personal preference.

@EvilLucario said " the way he phrases everything like a elementary schooler makes me laugh my ass off."

I'd like to read some posts from you in my language, just to see if you could phrase everything like an(not "a" like you just wrote ^^) elementary schooler or not. Perhaps, out of the comfort zone of your own language, you couldn't even write a simple and basic sentence ?

So easy, to make fun of non native, isn't it ? At least, I do the effort to try to communicate in YOUR own language... Sure, my English is kind of poor but maybe you could show me how great and awesome your French is ? Just to compare...

The hypocrisy is what astounds me. Ports are okay when they're on PS4. Worse looking console games on Vita were something to scream about. But ports/good looking console ports on Switch? Yeah, it all sucks.

@Sadist
I wanted Octopath at first, then I started playing and got worried, was all it was is a bunch of short stories ???, but I got really into it, I am not disappointed at all

@PokeMario AMEN Brutha Mario
I've been the same way for decades, I wait until there are enough games that I really want, that the total prices of the games is equal to or more than the price of the system I want, Switch equals $300+ worth of games, I wont get them at same time of course, but at least I know when I do get the system, I will be set game wise for some time to come

@Cobalt Okay, I'm going to cut you off here since you are going on a tangent on English being your second language and all.

English is my second language. Heck, I can even argue it's my third, my first is Indonesia, then hokkien, then I even have some smatters of Chinese.

Do I complain that English is my second language if they told me that the way I spoke is wrong?? No, I accept the criticism and try to fix it.

That's my problem with you! You use the fact that English is your second language to NOT fix things!

LIke even my above sentences have wrong grammar usage at some places I'm sure, for example. But I took great care to make it feel like I try to not offend others. Problem is, you hide in the fact that this language is second to yours, and didn't try to make it so the words aren't as sharp, or to be more exact, instead of sharp, you tend to make your words as offensive as possible.

It's like when you can spend a few extra minutes that your words are okay, you just... don't.

darkfenrir

Nemodius

@darkfenrir I think English is my third also, my family's from Sicily and Greece, then I came to U.S., as a 5 year old, so yah, I feel ya bro

"If failure is the greatest teacher, how come we are not the most superior beings in the universe ???"

darkfenrir

@jhewitt3476 yeah... like, I understand first few times, because that's hard. But as time goes on, it's like... why does it not going better? It's weird.

darkfenrir

Nemodius

@darkfenrir
I realized early that it's not the language itself that is the problem, you (like me) were raised with "sentence structure" also, so even though you learn the words of a new language, your native sentence structure has been so ingrained into your life, it is a b**ch of a habbit to break, so yah, to others, Yoda we sound like, frustrating it is, but eventually, come it will.

darkfenrir

@jhewitt3476 Yeah, and then when you try learning new language it doesn't help at all... I'm trying to learn German and wew, the grammars make it harder from English to German. Although I kinda can read some basic ones now, I just need to read a lot more German works I feel.

Tried learning Japanese so I could understand and play Monster Hunter XX before we knew it was being localized, and wow. Verbs at the end of the sentence, direct objects in questionable places, possessives and the whole ga or ka thing...

It's confusing. It made sense in it's own way, but it was just so different to what I've spoken all my life, it was just going against everything I've ever known. Hard to break lifelong habits.

I'm really impressed with anyone who can become fluent in a foreign language. I studied Japanese for years, and I'm BARELY conversational. There's so much to learn, and so much of it goes against the grain of what I intuitively know to do in English.

@darkfenrir I'd never have guessed you were a non-native speaker, either.

darkfenrir

I'm actually surprised that people don't realize I'm non-native since I always thought my writing wasn't really good (Although if I speak that's really obvious of course, my pronunciation sucks).

And Japanese is really hard o)--< I gave up on learning it but I should try again, there's a lot of things I wanted to read that is Japanese only, and the price to have them translated is too high.
