@JaxonH LOL It never fails. I'm convinced that lousy game is going to be re-released in perpetuity.

@EvilLucario Be sure to post your thoughts on NieR's performance when you get to it. I've heard... less than flattering things about the optimization, which is why I picked it up on PS4, but I'd be interested to know if the PC version is running better now.

Honestly, if the Japanese do better with their PC ports and Atlus is convinced to come on board, I could skip Sony entirely from now on. Between PC/Switch there's just not a whole lot I feel the need to purchase for PS4.

@Ralizah Unfortunately my results will be very skewed because I have a i7 8770k and 1080ti. So when I was testing it out for 50 minutes, I didn't crash and was able to keep 1080p 60fps 95% of the time.

@Ralizah well i guess that settles it... can't even hold 60fps at meager 1080p resolution with a freakin 1080ti

@EvilLucario That's some nice hardware. I'm rocking a GTX 970 and i5-4460. Very mid-range rig, but it's still good enough to get at least 60fps in 95% of the games I play on high-to-ultra settings.

DOOM and Wolfenstein: TNO were both so well-optimized that I was getting around 60fps on my previous, much weaker 2011 computer.

@JaxonH The crazy thing is it doesn't look like it will let up next year either. Looking at just the Switch, January alone has NSMBU Deluxe, Travis Strikes Again, Onimusha Warlords, and Tales of Vesperia DE. February has Trials Rising and March has Saint's Row the Third. It's even crazier when you look at PS4/XB1 lol

@misanthrope PC games are just dumb at times. Locking games at 30fps will give you extreme uneven frame pacing and some dips into 26-28fps depending on the card. The same deal for Nier, except apply that to 60fps. No big deal though tbh, and I don't have a 2K/4K monitor because I have a 1080p 144hz monitor instead.

@Ralizah Still a nice rig that should be able to run enough games like Monster Hunter World and Dragon Quest XI well.

Radeon 480 8gb with i3 dual core but clocked over 4ghz for solid GC emulation.

Still runs pretty much any game, many in 4K.

Don't use it much though. Only PC games I buy anymore are for Win 2 clamshell handheld, and that aren't ever coming to Switch. But even that little thing can run MH World. Barely, 600p 30fps lowest settings possible, and it crashes because its a crap PC port, but it does run.

I quickly discovered that wasn't the portable MH experience I thought it would be. Didn't take long before just going back to MHGU.

Hey guys, I have issues with bluetooth lag and I have no idea why. It's nothing too obvious, but it's noticeable when precise timing is needed.
For example, I thought the jumping mechanics on DKCTF were whack until I played in handheld mode. When playing Yoku's Island Express I couldn't hit the left trigger when I needed to, there was always a delay.
This is on top of the left stick sometimes not working like in BotW.

The NSW is the only bluetooth-enabled device near TV and couch. Distance between console and joy-cons is 2-3 meters at most.
I have two sets of joy-cons (default grey and later added the Splatoon colors for my girlfriend). Both of them have identical lag and they all have the latest firmware installed. I'd say it has even become worse recently.
TV is set to gaming and it shows zero lag with a PlayStation 3 and 4. It's exclusive to the Switch.

After figuring this out, the docked mode is killing all the fun. I don't think this is acceptable. Is there a frequency issue with the wifi or where do I start to fix this? Is there a wired controller that is worth recommending?

@Switchcraft I know you're saying that there's no other BT-enabled devices, but it might be worth double checking. I've come across devices of which I didn't even know they supported BT at all (e.g. my TV) or which had an active BT signal even when I turned it off (my old work laptop). Ignore my post if you already did.

Other wild guesses: try updating your joycons if you haven't done that, disconnect/reconnect and turn off the console completely.

@toiletduck Well, I have an audio DAC very close that supports Bluetooth. It could be that Bluetooth is active in the background, even when shut off. But even if, it belongs there... Hmm, maybe I will try moving it somewhere else temporarily and see if that helps. Cheers!

@Switchcraft Did you try restarting the Switch and downloading the latest updates for the Joy Con? That might help perhaps.

It's kind of nuts this October. Last year with Switch I was all piled up games I didn't even know I wanted (and probably shouldn't have wanted) just because they were Switch. Then I got into X1 and ended up buying the last decade+ of video games I wanted on various sales. And now this October all THREE platforms are being inundated with tons of games in franchises I love. With a backlog of around 150-200 games, I really could just skip the entire next generation and still have new games to play in 8 years. (And lets fact it, half the next generation will be these same games rereleased if industry trend is anything to go on )

@JaxonH "There are enough games releasing now that virtually anyone can find a nice, plump handful of ones that interest them to munch on."

Where's Heavy Metal F.A.K.K.2? Where's Rune? Where's SiN? These games are ancient but they're nowhere on Switch. They can run, but what third party will put games on a failed Nintendo system? </troll>

So apparently Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night are coming... to PS4 only. Usually I don't complain about that, but man does it feel like a missed opportunity. I was super pumped after the Smash announcement to play them, only to realize it wasn't happening on Switch. Maybe once/if I finally get a PS4...

And I just realized how powerful Mario Tennis Aces is. We may complain about it (rightfully) a lot here, but I just played it with two people who's Nintendo experience was limited to the DS (in tabletop mode no less, finally got use from that cause the TV there was broken, it's really good). They're both fully in on getting a Switch now, with Mario Tennis Aces topping their wish list. It really is a system seller for some people it seems.

Wonder if anything will interest me in October for Switch. I guess there's Mario party but I don't see myself really playing it that much. World ends with you might be one, though.

@link3710 I've said this over and over but Mario Tennis is honestly a fantastic game. While there are some customization problems for local play, at the end of the day it's a tennis game, there isn't much more to expect from that, especially since people drew erroneous comparisons to GBC and GBA Mario Tennis which were pretty much just tennis matches for its single-player dressed up as some RPG. It's a novelty but adventure mode in Aces took things a bit further with its more unique bosses compared to GBC and GBA Mario Tennis. Aces' adventure mode isn't stellar, but it's honestly more interesting than what they did in the handheld games.

Mario Tennis is fantastic! It's given me exactly what I wanted from a tennis game, fast exciting gameplay, online tournaments with easy to find opponents and great graphics. When you're matched with an evenly matched opponent it provides some of the most intense action I've ever had in a sports game. I wish it had a couple of extra stadiums and had a tournament featuring courts from the adventure mode, plus an option to play a full set online but other than that, it's perfect. I was never really interested in the adventure mode to begin with so even if it had been deeper, I probably still wouldn't have bothered with it.

I wouldn't rule out the Castlevania remasters just yet, there's been no official announcement. With Simon Belmont added to SSBU I reckon there's a good chance it will come to Switch. Konami are skint and going by the success Capcom are having with their old games they'd be mad to skip Switch. That said, it is Konami!
