Topic: The Nintendo Switch Thread

Apparently, we're getting online Switch maintenance for 4 days in a row, 3 hours per day.

@Ernest_The_Crab Well now, if that isn't prep for the upcoming online service I'd be highly surprised. There's no way that's regular maintenance.

Hopefully they really improve the free online too, when the paid online launches. They can't get away with lack of features and such, even at $20.

Activisions earnings reports are out. Only one mention of Switch: Crash N. Sane Trilogy. No plans for Spyro, no mention of Skylanders, nothing on Call of Duty.

They released Skylanders on launch day, went silent until the Crash reveal, and it seems that's that.

@YummyHappyPills I am not surprised by this to be honest. The Switch seems to be a system that will get the odd Western release here and there. Though not to be porting Spyro is a bit odd as they are doing the Crash Bandicoot trilogy.

@FragRed I'm honestly under the impression we wont get FIFA this year either. If EA was truly as stubborn as they said they'd be, it wouldn't be greenlit until March. That's not really a lot of time for a compotent game.

Honestly the general impression I have is the exception of Ubisoft and potential Bethesda, and WB with anything LEGO, western third parties want nothing to do with this system.

Why wouldn't FIFA 19 be coming to switch?

@YummyHappyPills I feel that if Nintendo didnt have a shot at FIFA 19 then they wouldn't be getting the free update soon. Why even bother offering free content if you're not supporting it any further?

Thanks guys I appreciate the love! @Spoony_Tech he went to the ER Friday because he had a fever and they found out he had pneumonia. They were watching him but on Sunday morning I got a text from him that he was coughing up blood and about 2 hrs later, he was gone!

If you want and send your wishes I'm sure his brother will still see it in that topic. Many things were said and his brother even posted the eulogy.

@Spoony_Tech Oh my gosh! That's awful! I'm sure you've noticed that I don't use the forums here very much, I just post on the news articles sometimes, but I will hunt down the NBA thread and post my condolences.

@Spoony_Tech The update for a game EA already made. No reason not to.

@kobashi100 FIFA19 wouldnt be coming simply because of what EA has said. They revealed they are waiting until seeing demand for the system as of March 2018 before even considering future projects. Do you expect a team to be given the greenlight and produce a competent FIFA game in what, 6 months if that?

Consider this an aspect of my approach to things. Expect the worst, that way you are either prepared or pleasently surprised that you were wrong.

You can finally pre-purchase Hyrule Warriors on the Eshop. Took them awhile

@Anti-Matter Yeah, Telos was added on the recent update. You have to have beaten the game at least once, though.

T-elos is fantastic. She's a top-tier Blade in pretty much every sense of the word: low trust needed for S trust, amazing skills, amazing damage as a Greataxe, and an element where it's not as covered by great Rare Blades (except for Poppi and Vale). T-elos even beats out Zenobia, which was the previous best Greataxe Blade.

I would love a port of both Metroid Samus Returns and Luigi's Mansion however would this be priced at 69.99usd/79.99cad or 39.99usd/49.99cad. I have no problem paying the full price for the Wii U ports but if they do ever plan on porting over 3ds games to the Switch i hope they come at the cheaper price obviously. The one very odd 3DS exclusive was that Mario Party 100 game i think that was a mistake on Nintendo releasing that for the 3DS. Even if it was made for the 3DS before the Switch was a thing or they just didn't have time it should of been delayed for a Switch release.

While it sounds simple to just port games from the 3ds to switch, it actually requires quite a lot of work since the 3ds has such a low resolution.

But I agree on the Mario party. It just feels wrong to have a party game on an handheld. I think it is better to have a mini game collection than the totally random luck fest we have been seeing.
