@Octane I get your point, but they've already announced that they'll be charging a subscription for online play. That right there was the start of the downwards spiral. Free online... gone.

And that downwards spiral clearly works. People are still paying.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

@Octane Superman 64 would be perfect for Switch to go alongside Vroom in the Night Sky

@gcunit Well, the least they could do is not attach any other freebies to the service, and I don't see a reason why they should ever increase its price (excluding inflation). Paying €20 for something that doesn't cost them €20 to run is one thing, but they also go the PS+ route, I'm done with online play altogether. At least on consoles.

@Shane17 Welcome to the Switch Club! How are you enjoying it so far? ..and what game(s) are you playing?

I love it tbh could be one of best consoles I’ve ever owned
I’ve got Fifa, NBA 2K18, Rocket League
And today I’m collecting Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon 2

@Shane17 Is Rocket League worth getting a physical release of or is there still tons of dlc not included? I know, I know, I've never played Rocket League, what have I been doing with my time. etc. - short answer "I dunno".

Not a clue sorry - I grabbed it digital as it was half price of the physical copy, a physical copy would have been nice to have but just not at double the price for me

Pop Quiz: - Which Nintendo hardware (i.e. home and portables) has the lowest software attach rate (i.e. software units sold per hardware units sold)?

Let me know when you want me to give you the right answer.

@HauntingNostrils As far as I'm aware, Rocket League DLC is purely cosmetic. You're not getting any extra content, I don't think, just fancy colours, noises, cars etc. So personally, I'm not interested in the DLC and wouldn't get the physical version for anything other than 'collecting' purposes. It's a game you want on your device at all times, not having to faff around with the cartridge for.

@gcunit Thanks for your sound advice gc' - I'm on it as we qwerty, I'll be playing it with my son come hometime!

@HauntingNostrils I agree with gcunit above, it's a game you want on your system at all times. The physical version does come with lots of DLC for customising your car, something I love to do. You might not care about that though so it's better to try the game first and if you do get into it, the option's there to customise your cars to your hearts extent for around the same price as you would have paid for the physical version.

They need the freebies, otherwise people understand it is a scam.

@Grumblevolcano Here's a tough question. Which is better? Superman 64 or Vroom in the Night Sky?

@OorWullie thanks, man. I've just grabbed the digital version so I can blast away at it the second my son gets home. I do like me some visual customisation options so I might invest later. I reckon I've lived too long without this game if all the reviews are to be believed.

@Octane @Grumblevolcano Wrong!

@Therad Sorry, I should have said, Virtual Boy is not included in the hardware. Who knows - you could be right...

I'm not sure if software sales are all software, or just Nintendo published software. Source.

@HauntingNostrils It's my most played game on Switch by some considerable distance, love it. Just be prepared for it to be a lot more difficult than you probably imagine it to be. I recommend heading to the training modes first to get a feel for it. When playing online I recommend turning cross play off for now and playing 2v2 or 1v1. The standard isn't as high with just Switch players and less players on the pitch means you'll find it easier to get involved in the match instead of chasing balls without ever getting a touch.
