@Ralizah When speaking of PC-games issues, there's one that sticks to mind. I still had an AMD card when I bought Lord of the Rings: War in the North, and that game started lagging like crazy at one of the near-last levels, and then just froze and crashed. By the time they'd fixed the issue, my care-cup ran empty
@electrolite77 You know, just my 2 cents but I find that guy to be a bit of a shill at times. Tends to overlook some problematic things, like how FE:W has cut-corners (which explains why it's done already).
That video was pretty good, and I enjoyed it. Arlo is pretty cool, and it's nice to seem him being so positive after how negative he was during the Wii U era.
@BLP_Software It's 3rd party month, this is how Nintendo fans manage to get big 3rd parties to abandon Nintendo systems.
It's Portvember you mean. 3rd parties aren't able to do like for like ports so they're playing it safe with older games with outlandish prices, that don't all fit on the cartridges and are lesser versions. So if they fail to sell well the blame will fall on both 3rd parties and Nintendo.
@skywake I was thinking the same thing last night while I was watching it. However we don't know how long Iwata was really sick for and some of these decisions could've actually been made by a collective group of Nintendo higher ups. It was pretty clear Iwata was sick his whole last year we had seen him so who knows if he was actually making the hard decisions. One thing I do believe is he started the Switch in motion for sure. How much got done under his Presidency will always be unknown.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.

People are better off reading the source interview.
@MegaTen Those were but rumours though, and they can just as easily be wrong. To be frank, nothing Capcom has said/hinted has given any hope for an MH Switch game.
@MegaTen I've heard there were more people who were suggesting it, and that Capcom being a part of that means nothing. I mean, comparatively to Bethesda of all people, their support is "meh" at best.
Well, maybe for a RE game like Revelations 1 and 2? I mean that is coming, so that would make sense (not sure if uses the engine, maybe they want to port RE 7 down the line?)
Call me pessimist, but I've felt that Capcom has given the Western Nintendo people the middle one since E3 and that World unveiling. Sure the Switch is still young, but the least they can do is announce SOMETHING (Like how Nintendo announced Pokemon Switch and Metroid Prime 4) to give people some hope, but no, there's all silence. At the utmost, bottom least, localize XX for the 3DS. Give those people a last farewell to the series on the platform....

I still don't understand why Capcom is making an XB1 port of MH. Knowing damn well it's not gonna sell anything. But it's Capcom they do things that boggles the mind.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
@MsJubilee "But it's Capcom they do things that boggles the mind." That much is clear to me. Yeah, I don't think this will sell as much on Xbox One, and most commercials are for PS4 so far I've seen. PC and PS4 will probably sell the most copies.
@MsJubilee It won't sell well in Japan but part of the reason for this drastic change is that Capcom want to grow the franchise worldwide as they say in the interview.
Nintendo made the decision of releasing weak hardware for the 3rd generation in a row, not Capcom. Capcom asked Nintendo for more power. I'm playing Devil's advocate.
@UmniKnight I doubt it, Nintendo most likely compromised if at all. Where's the support from Capcom so? All they've released is a port with another gimped port collection on the way. MH XX didn't make it outside of Japan, which, you guessed it, is another port. "Portcom".
Sony paid for exclusivity in Japan. And Capcom likely didn't anticipate the Switch or it's success at the time. In fact, the game started development a year after Wii U launched. And they sure as heck weren't gonna port to Wii U. So they chose their platforms and now we're seeing the result of that.
But even if they wanted to port to Switch now to capitalize on the portable market, they can't. They let Sony pay them for exclusivity in Japan (which at the time probably seemed like a good idea- it can't run on 3DS and Wii U was a flop) so what's the point of developing a portable Switch version that can't be sold in Japan?
So you see, this game was never and will never come to Switch. No Japan = pointless. We've discussed it to death and nothing has changed since then. MH will come to Switch. The only question is if it'll be ground up exclusive or a dual release with 3DS (which will continue to hold the game back)
Knock it off with the power discussion, it's ridiculous. If DOOM 2016 and Wolfenstein II can be tweaked to run on the Switch, practically anything can. The real discussion revolves around whether a developer thinks the time/money investment in doing so is in their best interest.
Bottom line: Capcom doesn't want to spend money optimizing for Switch right now, especially with a game that Sony has padded their pockets to keep exclusive for a long time, most likely. When Switch has 20+ mil install base and buying tendencies per genre are more clear, Capcom may start to sing a different tune.
