@Ralizah
Ya know, I actually liked the soundtrack. It’s not music I normally listen to, but I thought (for the most part, anyways) the music was good and fit the mood of the game well.
I don’t mess with Alpaca. It does have front wheel power though (the only bike to have front wheel power) so it can be very useful in the harder stages where you’re climbing near vertical obstacles, such as the Mount Everest track. But it’s more of a crutch than anything else. I’d just use the Helium for those stages, as intended. Still, if you get into time trial leaderboards, it could prove useful in certain situations.
That movie stage is awesome. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I always felt like this game’s closest comparison was DKC Tropical Freeze. Because like DKC:TF, the levels are expertly designed with layers upon layers of shortcuts you won’t even realize are there until you start getting better and learning advanced techniques, and then you’re like wait, I can bunny hop across this game and rear wheel bounce and skip that entire section, saving 3-5 seconds. The game calls them “time savers”- small time saving shortcuts found throughout levels.
My rule was, never move on until I gold medal each track. And anytime a contract would pop up and it was something I felt I could actually do without spending an hour on it, I’d keep up to date doing those as well. That way you level appropriately to unlock Extreme tracks around level 85-90. Once I got to the Hard tracks, if I tried a few times and just felt I couldn’t do gold, I’d settle for silver or whatever I was able to do. For Extreme, I’ve gotten one bronze, the rest I just cleared the stage, which was accomplishment enough. You’ll find your own standards and goals to set for yourself, obviously.
The hard and extreme tracks are the star of the show. Enjoy the easy and medium, they’re still fun. But stick with it and later you’ll reap the benefits. Once you get hooked on the harder tracks, it’s tough going back to the easier ones.

@WoomyNNYes Screenshots work fine. But it tells me the video recording function is disabled. That function works fine with other games, though.
@JaxonH Yeah, I've been gold medaling everything so far. Are there any stages that aren't worth perfecting until you get a better bike? Everything has been pretty approachable with the Squid thus far. Although I did just get something called the Rhino.
Also, I'm pretty much glued to the reset button. All of my runs have been perfect ones.
The focus on perfecting short levels and competing against ghosts for better times reminds me of another Ubisoft game I liked, Rayman Legends. Half of my hours in that game where spent in post-game online trials.
Tried something called a gigatrack, but backed out once I realized how long it was. Another day, maybe.
@Ralizah Well, I just made that clip above, and uploaded it there to show it works. Maybe there's a setting? Not sure why it wouldn't work on yours. Weird.
@WoomyNNYes@Ralizah
Video capture is disabled on the Switch version. Has been since launch. Only screenshots work in this particular version. If you’re getting videos to work, you got a fortunate glitch!
Glad to hear you’re enjoying it so much. That’s why I’ve been singing this game’s praises. It’s so good.
For now, you’ll probably just want to use the “recommended” bike each time, unless it hasn’t been unlocked yet, then use your best judgement. Rhino is fine in easy and medium tracks, but once you get to the hard and extreme the rhino isn’t a viable option. Not enough control. Too heavy. It’s great for the stadium races though and the easier tracks. There’s a pretty big chunk of the game where the rhino is the recommended bike, basically all the way up until you unlock the Mantis around level 45 or so. Of course, you’ll also be using Helium for the harder stages. Not much reason to use Helium on the easy and medium (there may be a few exceptions to that, plus contracts often task you with using a certain bike, or doing stunts which helium is great at).
The gigatrack was a recent addition via free update. It’s like a 15-20 minute course. It’s awesome. When you told me you were playing the game I fired it up again and played the gigatrack. It’s a ton of fun.
Are you keeping up with University of Trials challenges to learn techniques as you go?

Btw, I should have leaderboard times for every track in the game, barring Ninja courses (provided I wasn’t playing in offline mode for some tracks, which would prevent an online record from being made).
As you finish each track, feel free to hit Y for leaderboards (think it’s Y?) and tab over to “Friends”. You can compare with my times, maybe give you a target to shoot for (knowing you, you’ll probably end up crushing all my times lol)

@JaxonH Good to know it's not just something weird on my end (lack of video recording functionality).
Alright, cool, so there's no reason to fuss over the bike selection screen. Just click whatever the game starts me out with.
This game seems like it excels at short, creative tracks. A 20 minute track just sounds... er... excessive. I feel like it'd get boring quickly.
I A-ranked the previous lessons, and then a whole bunch of them just popped recently after completing those stadium challenges, so I'll probably focus on those the next time I play.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@JaxonH VIdeo capture didnt work at launch, but it was added. I just made this clip, uploaded it. I've been saving clips for 1-2 years. Does your also say it cant capture video? I wonder what's going on. EDIT: you using a regular Switch? I'm using Switch V1.
I made this clip today, on the Switch, uploaded it to share. No trikery. It's worked since they patched it in months after Trials Rising launch.
@JaxonH@Ralizah Oh, there is a setting. In Trials Rising, main menu, when game first boots up, open Options, scroll all the way down, and "Capture Mode" can be toggled ON/OFF. I'm assuming it's off by default?
EDIT: the setting discription says "turning Caputre Mode on will disable in-game music". I've always had music off, so I never noticed.
@WoomyNNYes@Ralizah
You know what, I do remember that now. It was the fact it turned off the music that caused me to disregard it. My mistake.

😁 you’ll be glad you did. Every Ubisoft game has content you can grab with coins you earn by playing. Assassins Creed Rebel Collection has some good stuff too, as does Immortals.
Btw, check out this Trials Fusion custom Ninja Track. This video has been viewed 82 million times... that’s 1% of the entire global population who has seen this video! I have no idea how this became so popular, but I figure it’s worth watching if 82 million people viewed it

It’s a take on Inferno, the final Extreme track of each game. And it’s wicked hard. I just picked the game up and beat it my first try lol. Lots of faults, mind you. But I beat it fast enough to actually earn a bronze.
Went back to Trials Fusion and unlocked the Extreme Tracks in that game. Since I’ve played Rising to death. I think Rising is a much better game, but I’ve played all the extreme tracks so many times it’s nice to play something new.

I recently realized how easy it is to see Switch Friend's times on tracks in Trials Rising. On the map page of all the tracks, press (Y) when you've highlighted a track for Leaderboards, then press right trigger to see Friends tab. It's quite easy to pull it up.
After you complete a race, and they show your character at the podium, you can also press (Y) there to see the leaderboards & your friend's times.
When I booted up the game last month, there was a scrolling notification at the bottom of the home screen menu, saying a switch friend (my friend's kid) beat my time on ___________ track. It was a LONG list of tracks he beat my times on. He'd apparently worked at beating all my times on the Easy & Medium difficulty tracks. All my times were Gold medals, but they weren't hard for me to beat his times.🤣😁
It's a shame Ubisoft hasn't made a sequel to Trials Rising. The Trials games and Forza Horizon series are my brother & I's favorite games to play together when we visit each other, and around holidays. Taking turns trying to top each other is so fun.
