I'm...not really a fan of Touhou, I've seen some videos of those bullet hell games and I'm just like "NOPE.", despite also getting a game known as Crimzon Clover which is just bullet hell insanity bumped up to the max. (they somehow made it where I don't die constantly, lol) I know there are other types of Touhou games out there but, eh...
But then I saw this game...I missed those Bust-A-Move type games, destroy bubbles of the same color, stuff like that. Not only did I become interested in this because of that, but it has rhythm elements to it. Yeah most of the songs are in Japanese and...I know nothing about them or the artists as far as I know because I'm not a Touhou fan, but...Bust-A-Move as a puzzle/rhythm hybrid? Yeah I'll look into it, lol.
The...pricing on the eShop is weird though...the base game alone is about $55, but bundles with different OSTs is $40...? What should I go for? Also, knowing how popular Touhou is in general, there's no thread for this? lol
Anyways yeah, who has this, which bundle should I go for?...I may just use my gold coins on this to slice about $15 off the price, lol

@Joeynator3000 The bundles they released recently are definitely much better value than buying the base game by itself. Pay less to get more, haha. There's no real right answer as to which of the budles to get though as it's just personal preference with the songs. Scarlet Devil would be my pick of them. Touhou Chireiden has a stupidly difficult song in it which can be kinda fun I guess. I don't own the other two.
As for the game itself, it's suuuuuper fun if you can really get into it. Such a wacky idea of adding rhythm elements to Puzzle Bobble gameplay has no right work as well as it does. They recently added online multiplayer and I've been playing a bunch of ranked matches and against similar ranked opposition it's really intense, usually goes right down to the wire and one bad mistake can be all it takes to flip the match.
The single player story is a good way to learn the game. It has quite a lot of stages and it starts really easy but actually gets super hard by the end. The story itself is kinda just there for the sake of being there (probably slightly more interesting with Touhou knowledge but doesn't really matter), definitely all about the gameplay.
End of the day though how much you get into it will probably depend on how much you like the music as tapping along to the beat to score your combos is a big part of the game and why it's so addictive.
Yeah I didn't catch that it has a demo, but yeah no idea what bundle to go for since I know nothing about the series or artists. >.<
I did notice that there's apparently no online multiplayer and for the most part CPUs aren't that hard or whatever unless you max them out? I dunno...lol
But yeah, I like it.

@Joeynator3000 Online multiplayer was added a few months ago. I can usually find an opponent within a minute and there's no lag or anything so it works really well.
As for the CPUs, the highest difficulty (Lunatic) is actually really challenging.
@BenAV Yeah I just saw that, alright, no idea if I'll use it because I always suck in any online battle in any game. xD
Anyways I just chose a random bundle, got it for $27...lol. But yeah I heard Lunatic was the only difficulty where things get hard and of course it goes overboard compared to the one before. >.<

@Joeynator3000 Yeah it's a pretty big jump from Hard to Lunatic. Before they added online multiplayer I'd usually just play on Hard if I wanted to have a chill time and play Lunatic if I wanted to try hard and push myself. If you can get to the point where Hard is a complete pushover though then you're probably good enough to play online without just getting destroyed.
Thought I'd hit my peak the other day when I was struggling to win two matches in a row online but guess I was just having a bad day as I broke my new personal record today with 20 consecutive wins, haha.
I just finished the story mode last night, haven't messed with online yet...no idea if I will since the CPUs do kick my butt sometimes, even on Normal/Hard, lol

@Joeynator3000 Fair enough. I think it's still a bit of a gradual difficulty increase so most isn't too bad IIRC but the last few stages get pretty brutal and took me a while when I played through it back when the game came out. The CPU get buffed up versions of their spells and some of them are super OP, haha.
@Joeynator3000 That was what it was like for me for a while but with Hard being too easy and Lunatic being too hard. There's always the handicap settings and stuff you can play around with too, or just keep trying Hard till you can beat it or just try to slaughter the Normal CPU by as much as you can for practice.
@Joeynator3000 Yeah, it's not a bad idea to have a character or two that you feel particularly confident with. It's pretty well balanced so there's a lot of good options.
The biggest piece of advice I can give for improving is to try to aim your next shot while you're timing your combo. Doing both things at the same time might take some getting used to but if you can get the hang of it, you'll improve massively.
