Just ordered my copy to collect later. Very excited! I actually never played the first Tony Hawks back in the day so it'll all be all new to me. Only had Tony Hawks 2 on Dreamcast.
It looks incredibly good in handheld mode. Controls very well too. Man, gotta go to work- Switch Lite, you're coming with me!

Also, both games are on the cartridge and playable without any updates.
The 3.5G GB update is for online multiplayer, which depends on internet to use anyways.

@NintendoByNature Since Switch launch, I have not seen a reliable pattern of midnight releases on eshop. Perhaps you've seen this yourself first hand, and were hoping for a midnight release. Midnight releases are great when they happen. I can count them on one hand. Granted, I don't buy games that often.
Honestly, I have suspected they don't have an automated system that will make a game go live at a set time. I think someone comes into work late at night to manually make an eshop game go live around midnight. Perhaps I'm wrong, but that's the impression I've gotten.
Finished the tutorial (I'm at work, can't play too much while here). Now I'm ready to dig in for real.

I completed the tutorial tonight too! My muscle memory was surprisingly strong for a game I last played almost 20 years ago.
I seemed to find the special trick bit hardest (up, down, a I think it was) as I kept falling over when I landed. Not sure what I was doing wrong? Seemed more like fluke when I pulled it off.
Can't wait to play the proper levels over the weekend!

I've never been that good at Tony Hawk, unlike Trials Rising which I'm pretty great at.
But it's so fun! I just hit the Warehouse and played about 5 or 6 times, grabbed S-K-A-T-E, knocked over the boxes, grabbed the fire hydrants, got the high scores, secret tape, and moved on. Can't do everything, but I finish the challenges I can and move along. Which is how it's meant to be played for a more casual TH skater like myself.
It's sooooo good though. Like, really good. This is a game I will come back to for years, especially on a hybrid handheld. One of the finest video games ever made. I think the original was like, the highest rated game of all time? Or one of the highest? And for good reason. The Remake is a perfect way to relive that masterpiece in modern graphics with added content, on the TV or on the go.

You need to level up and boost your air and speed stats.

Pretty sure, cause I remember when breaking into the little room higher up in the warehouse, it was a close one. Any more air or speed and it would be easy to make the jump into it.

Got the digital deluxe copy and none of the content is there. No Ripper, boards or alt clothes. Anyone else have this happen? I don’t have Switch Online. I can’t imagine that could be the problem. But who knows.
@FailSafe
On the Switch menu, pan right until you see the “All Software” option. In there, scroll all the way down to the button that says “Redownload Software”. Then scroll down through your list of purchased titles until you see Tony Hawk. It should say “Downloadable Content” if you haven’t downloaded it yet. Click it to download. If you don’t see it in the list, it means it’s downloaded already.

I'm confused, when you complete tasks in Skate Tours and level up does it level up all the skaters stats or just the one you completed that round with?
