Annoying their spoilers haven't shown us any other towns or villages yet. We've only really seen 3 in the whole game so far.

For them to capture that Skyrim feel that Aonuma spoke about, where you'd get the cool novelty of just stumbling upon an interesting place whilst exploring the world, they're gonna need more than 3 villages.

How many do Skyrim or Witcher 3 have? Something like 20?

@Dezzy Probably around 50 in TW3. Most of them being small villages with 5-10 houses. Oxenfurt, Crow's Perch and Kaer Trolde were a bit bigger than that. Novigrad and Beauclair were absolutely gigantic. Wouldn't surprise me if those two cities contained more buildings than all the other towns combined.

Not sure we're getting that in Zelda. Even in Twilight Princess, there was only your home town, Kakariko Village and Castle Town (and maybe Death Mountain?). Wind Waker had three towns as well. So anything more than five towns would be a record for Zelda.

I think the resurrection chamber, plus Link sleeping for 100 years after some big cataclysm is big evidence pointing at the downfall timeline. Why would Link have to recover if he fulfilled his destiny and always? Plus, the text from the map in the specials editions practically says the he and Zelda lost against Ganon.

I have a chronic lack of time, for everything.

Now playing: Okami HD, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

So do you need the Wolf Link amiibo in order to get Wolf Link as a companion? If so, that is definitely the best function an amiibo has ever had. What are the top theories as to the Breath of the Wild amiibo functions?

Legend of Zelda - Breath of the Wild will be released next week.

I know that's just stating the obvious but how good does that sentence sound. Only "this week", "tomorrow" or "today" could improve that sentence. What a journey it's been to get here. It's going to be a special moment seeing the title screen on my TV for the first time. Savour it folks.

@DefHalan Yeah I am getting it on Wii U as well but I either am not going to buy the DLC or keep my Wii U around. I will wait to see if its enticing when its actually out as all I really care about possibly is the new story new dungeon. I actually still play my Wii U fairly often and have a back catalog to play still but it is not played as much since we got a PS4 this past holiday. It might stick around at least as an off TV device and remote control maybe.

Yep, am in the same boat as you. (So many games still to play on the WiiU that I've bought and have nowhere near finished, yet am dying to. - Especially Hyrule Warriors, which could actually take years to fully 100%, as that games so massive!) -But I'm determined to do it though! I still come back to it frequently to chip away at more of it, in between other games. So I'm DEFINITELY hanging onto my WiiU aswell as the Switch. (Modern TVs having enough HDMI sockets means this is really easy to do, as all it takes to instantly flick between consoles is a simple flick of the remote control, or WiiU GamePad for that matter). this is currently what I already do between my WiiU and NES Classic. But I'll probably unplug my NES Classic in place of my new Nintendo Switch when it comes, and have WiU and Switch as my dominant consoles. (will keep playing my 3DS aswell, as that's not even dependent on the TV, and still have much to play on that aswell)

I can't see the picture.

Btw, when do y'all think reviews will start coming out for this game?

Once the game is out, it's blackout time from this site and stuff for me. I'll probably read some of the Metacritic scores, partially for the lols.

@-Green- Your computer seems to hate Nintendo Everything. I've updated the link to Imgur, and here is the full album of concept art: http://imgur.com/a/ain4p

I'll also ditch these sites and not read reviews. If I'm doing well, I shouldn't even check the scores. I don't want other people's petty opinions to color my opinion of a game that signifies Nintendo so much. Every critic, YouTuber, and streamer has a point to make about Breath of the Wild and about Nintendo as a whole, and screw that. They're only going to be more foolish.

Apparently not til the day before launch.

I'm guessing they wanted as long as possible for reviewers to finish the game.

Oh, well that's good I guess. Gonna be dodging those previews pretty hard.

Reviews coming out a day before launch is unlike Nintendo. Or, as far as I can remember at least. I thought they usually came out like a week beforehand. Either way, I hope that's not indicative of them thinking the reviews might not be as favorable as they'd hoped.

I'm honestly surprised how fast time flies sometimes. It's exciting to think the game's almost out but it's gonna be a bit annoying having to avoid big spoilers for the game, considering I won't be able to play it until a while after it's been out.

I don't think i will dodge previews or reviews when they are gonna come out, both on Switch and Zelda. I will care even less about metacritic and stuff like that because it's just garbage to me. I'll just read what Nintendo Life will bring to the table just because i want since Nintendo sold me both Switch and Zelda. So no concerns about reading some stuff. I just can't live with this hype anymore!

Nicolai

Since I'm going to buy this game no matter what, I'll probably just stick to reviews that I know are going to be positive, like Gamexplain or others. Hearing other people point out its flaws is a surefire way of making sure I can't stop paying attention to said flaws. Every Zelda game has major flaws (yes, even TP) but still radiantly shines in the ways it sets out to. I want to make sure I enjoy this game with that in mind.

For example, I experienced every Zelda game before aLBW without any sort of media exposure. I played SS, loved it, and was surprised when everyone pointed out the lack of exploration, finicky controls, and handholding. Not surprised because I disagreed, but surprised because I wasn't thinking about what it lacked while I was playing. By contrast, I read reviews on aLBW's beforehand, and despite them all being very positive, I couldn't shake off the nagging flaws I had read going in, about the lack of finding key items in a dungeon and the way it makes them seem shorter and simpler, the lame names for the dark realm and its princess, and the somewhat derpy art-style (by the way, I had no problems with ST and PH's horrid art-style when I played those). To this day, I have a lesser opinion of aLBW than ST, which in reality has waaay more flaws attached to it.

I won't let it happen this time, though. I'm going into BotW cold turkey.

For those who got a headache from all of the acronyms:

Very good point Nicolai, I'm the same way. I remember loving skyward sword completely. It was so fun and great to me. It wasn't until after I read reviews that I found myself noticing the flaws in subsequent playthroughs. So I'll probably do the same and avoid reviews of breath of the wild and just let myself paint my own opinion on it
