@keife191: About the Majora's Mask sequel... only in my nightmares Shudders
The NX is going to be delayed to Holiday 2017 you heard it here first, also It should be pretty obvious what my favorite game of all time is cough Skyward Sword cough
I would actually love a sequel to Majora's Mask, or at least a revival of its mechanics and themes. The goron and zora forms are still relatively unexplored. As is the mask system (#StillBetterThanSkyloft). Interpersonal quests in a connected community or set of communities would never get old if they did it well.

yup, they could really cash in if they wanted to, they already did a remake for MM on the 3ds, and theyre reimagining the game mechanics with zelda wii U, so after zelda wii U makes them huge money, they could go back and make a much needed sequal for majoras mask staying true to the theme while also capitalizing on the new mechanics and make even more money!!!
The most intresting theme of MM is death and specificly the death of Navi so I'm not sure how you'll top that, the only real story left is for how that Link went on to become Hero's Shade imo.

navi didnt die, she left link because he wasnt a kokiri, Tael and Tatl were the fairies in MM, and if i remember it was the brother fairy that died at the end.

Neither of the new fairies died in MM.
Think about it, MM starts off as a quest to find out what happened to Navi, the games goes through the 5 stages of grief and ends with Link making a new friend with Navi not in sight.
the 5 stages of grief is just speculation, granted it fits well, but its still only speculation. nothing from majoras mask says anything that would make us think navi is dead

True but the Zelda games don't scream into your ear the story and themes of the game, based on the game starting off as the search of Navi it would be ridiclously poor storytelling if it was just Ninty forgot to tie up the loose end of Navi.
Speaking of annoying sidekicks could this be the first 3D game without one? I'm really hoping Epona or that book don't spend the entire game telling you your hearts are low or you need to waggle the controller.
would you rather a talking sword or hat?
and as to the fate of navi, i like to think she went back to the forest to help the deku sprout to grow into the great deku tree and then to choose another kokiri to be a fairy to, or to live out her days remembering the great adventure she had with the fairy boy and maybe even sharing her story with the kokiri
Guys, the main plot in Majora's Mask isn't good. The stories in each region are good, the side quests are good, and the imagery is amazing, but the main, main story? Not good. It doesn't have enough of an arc to it due to the structure.
The structure isn't necessarily an inhibiting factor. Groundhog Day is a classic. #27 on the list of best screenplays of all time, according to the Writer's Guild of America: http://www.wga.org/subpage_newsevents.aspx?id=1807
Edit: Dang, that top 3 are like 3 of my favorite 5 movies of all time. Also, I need to get around to watching Annie Hall and Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid.

I actually have it as my favourite arc and structure of all the Zelda games in terms of the implications of Navi whilst Skull Kid/Majora is a refreshing change of Ganon.
I hope we can choose between a male character and a female character at the beginning.
Male: Link
Female: Linkle (just with an other Name) xD
i already tried that one, too many haters here, watch the backlash
It wasn't so much haters and more people disagreeing with the specific things you were saying like Linke is a lesbian and a sister is exactly the same person as her brother but only female.

lol i wasnt saying she was, i was asking what people thought a female protagonist would do to the story elements, ie the damsel in distress most specifically

If Disney can make a princess story about a healthy, loving relationship between two women and a shake-up of the traditional 'damsel in distress' plot, I'm sure Nintendo can too.
