In what universe is Linkle even canon? It's Tecmo Koei's creation. It belongs with Cia, that other wizard from Hyrule Warriors and Link riding a motorcycle in the non-canon category.
Who said that Link riding a motorcycle is non-canon? We just don't know where it fits in the timeline yet.
I can't wait for Pink Gold Peach to appear in Zelda U!
female version of the hero link, and created to be like his sister. confirmed she is the female version of link and his adoptive sister.
so regardless if shes not link turned into a girl, she is the representation of a female link and could be shown in the next few zelda games as a gender option. boom goes the dynamite

Except it doesn't confirm anything. That was her original design (hence discarded characters) back when they were considering adding her solely as a female Link. Obviously, that's changed now, in her current state. They kept her name and signature weapon, but changed basically everything else. She is not simply a female Link.

That is the concept of a character that may have changed drastically between original pitch and concept art, scrapping, and reintroduction.
Also nothing is "confirmed." And "female version of Link" contradicts with "adoptive sister." These are two different things. I have three adopted sisters. None of them are female versions of me.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

if you were a master swordsman, and you had a female apprentice that you also adopted into your family as your sister, would you not say she was the female version of you since she would be exactly like you? just because you veiw someone as a sister doesnt mean she cant end up exactly like you and maybe even go save hyrule while you take a break from saving the world for once. am i wrong???
Link is a master swordsman who adopts little girls and trains them to be female versions of himself: Standard hero of legend stuff.
Link is a boy from a small fishing village just coming-of-age and is thrust into a conflict far bigger than himself: Fake Zelda game and not the real Link.

@keife191: Linkle has just as much of a chance of appearing in a Zelda game as Cia has; None. It's a Hyrule Warriors character and not a Zelda character.
just because they fall down the side of his face doesnt mean theyre sideburns, sideburns have to be physically connected to the cheek, otherwise its just a lock of hair from his head flowing down to his shoulders. i know i have long hair and no sideburns lol, look at the wii U photo again, youll see its not connected to his face at all.
Dunno, they could be sideburns, the upper parts of the hair appear flush against Link's head.

Obviously it is in the adult timeline after SMB3, since all Kart games (except the first and 7, of course) are. Might be after lost level, but I think it would conflict with DKC2 (wrong shade on the bananas) and nintendo tends to be overzealous when it comes to the timeline.
He's got a point with the sideburn things though. Link is clearly too young and anime to have a beard. So they're technically not real sideburns... However they clearly start in the same place as sideburns so they're kinda like longhalfsideburns I guess.
They're leftovers from the 80's, its hard to classify them.
Still, it must be really painful if anything ever pulls them. Link should get rid of them.
well regardless whether there is a gender option or not, im still looking forward to this game sooo much, even though we havent been shown much, what we have seen is ground breaking, and i just cant wait til release!!!
To be honest, I'm more looking forward to Twilight Princess HD than Zelda U so far. Maybe that'll change when we get more info but Twilight Princess is my favourite Zelda game so far and the HD remake/remaster seems to fix my few issues with it (right-handed Link, map is mirrored compared with OoT, etc. as I only got to play the Wii version)
@DefHalan: Yes, both the GC original and the HD remake. The GC original is one of the worst games in the franchise due to the Triforce quest after getting the master sword being extremely tedious but the HD remake largely improved the game hence making it into my top 5 favourites. My top 5 are as follows:
Twilight Princess (Wii)
Ocarina of Time (N64/3DS)
Majora's Mask (N64/3DS)
Wind Waker HD (Wii U)
A Link to the Past (SNES)
After a fair few years after beating Twilight Princess and finding out the connection to Ocarina of Time, I started to really hate the waggle controls. As a result when wanting to play it last year before Hyrule Warriors came, I tried to get hold of the GC version for a decent price but with no luck. The HD remake/remaster finally allows me to experience the game in its proper form for a decent price in addition to a cool looking amiibo that will no doubt have some extremely important use in Zelda U.
On another thought, it came to me that if Zelda U is coming to NX (note that the only 2 possibities for Zelda U is a repeat of Twilight Princess or a repeat of Skyward Sword in terms of actual release schedule) then the console itself must have some kind of NFC capabilities otherwise the Wolf Link amiibo would not be compatible with the NX version of Zelda U which contradicts the Direct.
