Topic: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Just got the shrine that's just under Hyrule Castle....err....

All I can say is that music. Arceus damn, that music.

I love the game, but it's starting to overstay its welcome. I think it's time to wrap it up and move on. I appreciate the work that went into the game and how huge it is, but there's a limit to how much I care to explore. As a product it's an amazing construction. The world is pretty and huge. It definitely feels like an adventure. But as a Zelda game, it drags on and, for me, does not hold the same magical moments that the previous ones had.

Maybe because the soundtrack isn't really... Much of a soundtrack. The ambient noises are very peaceful and remind me of studio ghibli, but I much prefer the sweeping musical score that skyward sword introduced.

Plus I really hate the durability system.

That said, I do want to find all the shrines at least.

@Tsurii Thanks, I should have made it clearer though; I'm okay with posting images in the forums, but I wondered if it was possible to actually get the image link from the console without first posting it to Facebook or Twitter and copying it from there. How have you been obtaining your images?

Also, finished off the last beast, and have not got the Matser Sword. Gonna show it off to that woman, and then fight Big G.

@Operative2-0 You think this drags on? I feel the other Zelda games drag on, at least 3D ones. Weird. Differing tastes.

@Tsurii I only went in for the shrine. But what I heard (And saw...that map good god. That's 4 dungeons in of itself) it's so...epic. Breathtaking. Haunting. Empowering.

I cant wait.

@NEStalgia I hunt guardians and sell the spare parts. Plus I love mining in video games. I live in Skryim as a weaponsmith. Half my time is spent mining ore...Alduin is going to burn down the world while I make shiny swords (see this is what texture mods do to you. They make you spend all your time making pretty things to put in the world).

Since BotW has mines and you can mark locations, I go to my favorite spots, mine away and then sell what I don't need. That and I hop on rafts and go hunting for sunken treasure. Ganon is going to destroy Hyrule too. I was talking about Stasis +...didn't want to use spoiler tags. I've been keeping my convos and questions general on purpose. Hinox are pushovers. We share the same weakness....aim for the eye and keep moving. I killed the one on the island shrine quest with the bomb runes, three hearts and Link in his underpants.

I did get stuck in a loop with one of the towers where Lizardfos and Wizrobes kept shocking me so I kept dropping everything. That was more frustrating than a boss fight. I've been wandering around Zora's Domain and decided to tackle a divine beast, working on that now. What is it with the Zora Royal line and Link? Does he have bait on his butt or something?

@Ryu_Niiyama LOL, I suppose the spare parts add up. I'm surprised how little they sell for though. Same with the mining (haven't found too many great mines, though, just stray deposits here and there mostly...a few caves with a bunch have turned up.) I've never had the "gather, and forge" obsession with open world games though so I might not be so adept at it.

Rafts...other than those big leaves I can never get them to move! And I never have a leaf in my limited inventory. Maybe after I can expand my inventory more. I'll get to korok forest someday!

Ahh, yeah stasis+ isn't much of a spoiler, they tell you about that pretty early in the game when you're still on the "tutorial" phase getting all your runes. I don't find it too helpful most of the time though I guess for Lynels it gets you ease of doing one thing more easily....

LOL about Hinox. Hmm do bombs really do meaningful damage to the? I've taken trash mobs of bokoblins and moblins that way, and even that took me a long enough time. Never would have thought to use it on something that large!

Ohh I know what tower that is, I think I did that one yesterday. Got lucky. The wizrobes kept hitting the tower instead of me as I climbed blissfully ignoring them! But it was tense!

Oh, first Divine Beast? That's fun! Simple short things, but fun quests. Annoying bosses though, IMO. "weak" maybe, but annoying. I've done 2 so far. I intended to save them but got drawn in by the darn backstory! LOL about the Zora though, so true!

@Operative2-0 @BLP_Software i feel the same as BLP. Older Zeldas dragged on to me, not this one. I'm really loving exploring every angle of Hyrule, you're never going to see the same thing again.

About Guardians and their parts i'm starting to hunt them now that i'm starting to become more comfortable doing it, and i'm at 60 hrs and for parts i don't really sell ANYTHING. Just gems when i need money, my inventory is really full of things. Really Ryu said he loves mining, i love farming EVERYTHING and be able everytime to create what i need by myself. As i said multiple times exploring and survival in this Zelda are between the things i love the most (about everything in the game ahahahahahah )

So I've mounted the Lord of the Mountain for about the third time, but... what do I do with it? I can't board it, and it disappears if left alone. Also, this doesn't work apparently:

Sorry, minor fix to your statement. Don't let the hairstyle on my mii fool you, I just wear my hair in a natural afro now as opposed to straight.

Anyway, speaking of farming I do love the cooking mechanic since it is intuitive. I think of basic ingredients to make items and it usually works out. I'm also taking a pic of the posters with recipes as I go. I am still having a terrible time locating shrines though. I will have to bow to using a guide.

I think it's the first time they've ever directly stated it in a game.

There have been at least other three Zeldas romantically interested in their Links before.

I decide to go into Hyrule Castle to get one thing. Just. One. Thing.
That was the plan, just get the Hylian Shield and leave but nope. Now my mind set is stuck in "You're here now, might as well..." mode, and I'm finding new stuff left and right. I really shouldn't be here... but since I am... Does anyone know where the "cookbook" is? It's needed for a sidequest.

One of the repairable tridents from Zora's domain they tell me is still in this world but I don't have it in my inventory or in my home.

Does this mean I dropped it on the ground somewhere? How in the heck am I supposed to remember where I swapped it out for a better weapon? Will it still be there? It is likely in a shrine somewhere. I wanted to hang these story weapons up in my home but it seems I have lost one in this vast world.

I dunno, but "hugging" behind a curtain leaves little to the imagination.

I haven't found that bombs do much damage themselves to Hinox, but, hitting them with one while their eye is covered will cause them to move their hand, giving a quick opportunity to put an arrow through their eye.
