I just gone to the top of Lanayru Mountain, there's something great to discover there.

my biggest complaint with this game: the traditional LoZ stuff (Hylian Shield, Hero Tunic, Epona, etc) are almost afterthoughts or Easter eggs; apparently the latter two can only be obtained by amiibo.

Nah, you can get one of those by doing ALL of the shrines and another in Hyrule Castle.

@jump I'm guessing you mean the Hero Tunic. All shrines? That will take me a while!

My point still stands though. I found the Hylian Shield in a random encounter with no fanfare, Epona can only be obtained via amiibo, while the game can be completed without the Master sword (or the other mentioned things). Basically, all of the typical stuff - those of LoZ lore - are optional. Remove them and the game loses some of the LoZ essence...

If you want to talk about BOTW that doing enough for the lore wtf about the timeline?!?!

Thank you for answers. I'm exploring West Necluda (and i'm almost finished doing it) and while doing it i found some rupees so i can buy one piece. For other 2 i think i'll sell some gems since i found really a great number by defeating other 3 rock bosses. I did some other Shrines, the "twins" and the one on the flower's island. Missing one to grab another Hearth and i have to say that i found a Korok that i don't know how to grab it, here's the thing: it's after Proxim Bridge, north of the river. There's a cutted tree and a "Korok wheel" attached to it that glows at night. How did you get that Korok???

Hit the guardians' legs.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

@Octane Thank you. This evening when i return from university class i'll check it out since i'm almost done with West Necluda. Missing just a couple of places to go explore and a couple of tracked Korok Seeds to obtain (one is the tree one, the other is inside Kakariko. Inadvertently got the five apple one spoilered while i was searching for the other on internet). Finally i'll be able to start a new zone soon!

@Haru17 Hitting the Guardians' legs is the amateur's approach... There's a much better way.

@Monkey_Balls I'd been doing the better way, but leg day is so much more fun.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

Octane

@FGPackers By the way, where did you find the pinwheel? It's on the north side of the river? Closer to Proxim Bridge or the Dueling Peaks Tower?

Octane

Monkey_Balls

@Haru17 The better way can be fun too. I found out how to do it by accident, and still struggle with the technique, but get it right and bam! Instant machinery parts.

By the way, you mentioned this earlier...

What was supposed to happen? I didn't encounter anything out of the ordinary.

@Tsurii Ha, yeah I was talking about that. I'm obviously not cool enough as every time I've encountered a Guardian while on a horse I've had horsey steaks for lunch (usually accompanied with a side dish of Game Over). I prefer to go it alone and leave my equine friends safe in the stable.

Ralizah

@Monkey_Balls What, do you kill Guardian by messing with their circuitry or something? I noticed the game seemed to want me to jump on one of those flying drone things, but it seemed a bit risky.

Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)

Thanks test message

Edit: Works nice one.

I think am playing this game wrong. Traditionally when it comes to open world games. I do the first 2 or 3 main quest mission's. Then have a little explore to try and find better gear and to open as many fast travel points as possible.

So I did the start area and did the 4 caves ect. Now that the game opened up I thought ill do the next main quest. I noticed it was going in the direction of the castle. So I set of managed to get my self a horse. Got it registered sold a few things to a trader. Found a few weapons and better armour on the way. Did a few more caves while I was heading towards the castle. Climbed one or two towers to reveal the map.

Finally got to the castle. Starter climbing the castle walls luckily dodging the laser turrets. Got into the lower parts of the castle and killed a few enemies (that blue bomb you get ultimate use of is OP). Got so much better weapons. Like the ones I had before I got into the castle did like 10 points of damage. The ones I was picking up where doing 40+ points of damaging.

So yer after what took like an hour of slowly making my way through the castle. I finally made it to the main entrance. Went inside and a boss appeared. After about an hour of trying to beat him. it finally hit me that maybe I shouldn't be here just yet. I was doing a good amount of damage to him. But one hit from him killed me. So I gave up and decided to do the side quests.

Am I playing this wrong? Am I suppose to be going to the castle this early in the game? In fact the first 2 main quests and 2 side quests had me going into the castle. One of the side quests was to find a cook book in there and another one was some Royal armour.

So yer that's my first few hours of Breath of the wild. Am very confused and am not seeing why this game is getting 10/10 reviews at the moment. But it's giving me a good challenge at the moment and I like challenges.

@GoronBrudda @-Green- A reminder for everyone here, please use spoiler tags. I'm going to edit your posts to add spoiler tags, but please be considerate next time you post something.

(spoiler)insert text here(/spoiler)

Replace the ''( )'' with ''[ ]''.

Thanks Octane for showing me how to do this! (I was looking for a menu option of some kind, but couldn't find one, so glad I now know it's done using tags).

Spoiler Tag Test... if you had to click on a black box before you could see this bit, it means the spoiler tag worked!

@ocelot20 Well, there's no wrong way to play the game, but no, you really shouldn't be there. Side-quests aren't the best guides. See the castle more as a long-term goal.. I'm 50 hours in and I haven't even been near the castle.

Yeh. I kinda assumed that quest you're referring to is the end-game objective, you just get it in your log early on because that's when you find out what you've woken up for.

Favourite NPCs so far:

Manny - just loved his dialogue - so suggestive, and I was cracking up because I'd already been to the inn and thought to myself how incredibly hot the girl at reception was. The writing in this game for NPCs is really improved IMO.

Purah - just funny. And cute

Kass - Dat toon

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.
